  1. wicket

SUSSEX ALL OUT FOR 152published at 15:44 British Summer Time

    Hayes b Pretorius 0 (Somerset 338 v Sussex 152)

It's all over for Sussex in this dismal first innings as Migael Pretorius clean bowls number 11 James Hayes for a duck.

Somerset could enforce the follow-on should they so wish.

We shall see what they decide.

  2. Derbyshire begin first inningspublished at 15:44 British Summer Time

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 0-0

There are not many cricketers with the power to clear the bars, but James Anderson is one of them. And with very good reason.

You can forgive Derbyshire openers David Lloyd and Caleb Jewell if they approach the middle with a little trepidation.

Huge cheer goes up as Anderson is announced to open the bowling from the end that bears his name.

  3. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 151-9

Craig Overton is human... he's put one down!

Jack Leach spins one away from James Hayes, who nicks it... it hits the gloves of wicket-keeper James Rew and it loops up into the path of Overton but he fumbles it and can't hold on!

That should have been innings over for Sussex.

  4. 'It was inevitable'published at 15:42 British Summer Time

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 151-9

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

It's been a real battle since lunch for the Sussex players.

Robinson is caught at slip, it was inevitable, he was going to be an aggressor and play with freedom.

Tom: Should there be a bonus point if a team forces the follow on?

Mike: James Anderson is batting at Old Trafford alongside Anderson Phillip. The bowler is Martin Andersson.

Tiffany: Agree with John at 14:15 [Essex are] relegation contenders rather than title challengers.

What do we think about Tom's point? Looking forward to seeing James Anderson bowling? Keep getting in touch with your views!

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time

    Stoneman b Hannon Dalby (Warwicks 194 v Hants 300 & 25-1)

Mark Stoneman went to drive Olly Hannon-Dalby and is snared at fist slip by a diving Tom Latham.

Breakthrough for the Bears early doors and boy did they need that.

Nick Gubbins joins Fletcha Middleton (19).

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time

    Robinson c Gregory b Leach 6 (Somerset 338 v Sussex 151-9)

Not sure Ollie Robinson's approach to his very brief innings was the best course of action to take...

After hitting one for six off Jack Leach in the spinner's previous over, Robinson attempts a reverse sweep which he misses and then comes down the track to try and smash it down the ground.

He makes a mess of it and edges to Lewis Gregory in the slips and he goes for just six off four eventful balls.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time

    Harmer c Roderick b Brookes 14 (Worcs 358 v Essex 117-7)

Simon Harmer becomes the latest Essex wicket to fall and they're now seven down and in deep trouble.

Harmer looks to just defend the ball but it moves away and as he pushes forward it glances off the edge and behind to Roderick.

Shane Snater joins the action with his side trailing by 241.

  9. 'Yorkshire need quick wickets'published at 15:33 British Summer Time

    Surrey 230-4 v Yorkshire 255

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Yorkshire got the ball changed and I think this one has done a bit more than the other one.

It's good from Yorkshire, the problem is they only made 255.

They're in that tough position where they need to push for wickets and gaps begin to emerge.

Their best way to stay in the game is to pick up six quick wickets against a very good Surrey batting side.

  10. 6 runs

Robinson hits second ball for sixpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 140-8

    Fair enough, Ollie Robinson!

The number 10 batter comes in to face spinner Jack Leach and misses the first ball.

He decides that's enough and then cracks Leach over mid-on for six.

  11. 200 runs

200 up for Durhampublished at 15:30 British Summer Time

    Durham 200-2 v Notts 407

Alex Lees takes a single off Lyndon James to bring up the 200 in the 61st over.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:30 British Summer Time

    McAndrew c Lammonby b Leach 8 (Somerset 338 v Sussex 140-8)

Jack Leach has his first wicket of the game for Somerset!

He gets one to rip away from Nathan McAndrew on the drive and McAndrew ends up just spooning it up into the covers for Tom Lammonby to take a rather easy catch.

In comes Ollie Robinson who might be bowling again soon before the day is out.

I'm sure he wouldn't have thought he'd be doing so when Somerset were bowled out for 338 this morning.

  13. LANCASHIRE ALL OUT FOR 458published at 15:28 British Summer Time

    Lancs 458 v Derbys

    Well that ended quickly.

James Anderson came to the crease, hit a four in an unbeaten four-ball cameo before Anderson Phillip was out first ball.

    And that's tea.

The moment we're waiting for will soon be upon us.

  14. Postpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time

    Worcs 358 v Essex 117-6

It's taken 21 balls but Essex's Noah Thain is off the mark.

Harmer has improved his scoring rate after a slow start and is on 14 from 26.

At present they just need to stay in for a bit to give Essex some foundations to build on.

The extremely effective Tom Taylor/Ben Allison combo is taking a well-earned rest (to the relief of Essex) and the Pears bowling is currently being done by Matthew Waite and Ethan Brookes.

  15. Postpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time

    Warwicks 194 v Hants 300 & 20-0

Ethan Bamber throws his hands to his head as Fletcha Middleton slashes behind square for four.

It's been a good start for the visitors who are keeping their momentum firmly in their grasp.

After just three overs Hants openers have grown the lead to 126 runs.

  16. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time

    Surrey 226-4 v Yorkshire 255

Wonderfully played stroke by Ben Foakes. It's slightly over-pitched by Jordan Thompson and Foakes is quick to pounce, driving it straight back down the ground past Thompson for four.

Foakes is onto 12 and the Yorkshire lead is now cut to just 29 runs.

  17. Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time

    Surrey 222-4 v Yorkshire 255

Yorkshire captain and wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow has caught one on the end of the finger at The Oval and he's just getting some treatment. A break in play while he's tended to by the physio.

  18. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time

    Durham 197-2 v Notts 407

Nottinghamshire have succeeded in slowing the scoring, but Alex Lees secures just the fourth boundary of his innings and goes to 78.

    That's a lot of running.

Rob Lord's over is a comparatively dear one, costing seven.

  19. 'Sussex victims to their own downfall'published at 15:20 British Summer Time

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 129-7

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Hudson-Prentice will reflect on that as not the best shot to play, it was outside the off stump.

I think Sussex have, to a certain extent, been victims to their own downfall.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time

    Hudson-Prentice c Overton b Pretorius 14 (Somerset 338 v Sussex 129-7)

Another one bites the dust for Sussex!

Fynn Hudson-Prentice dabbles at one outside his off stump from Migael Pretorius and it flies low and hard towards Craig Overton at third slip...

Can he get down to scoop it up? Of course he can. Brilliant grab by Overton and that's his third catch of the game.

Number eight and nine now in together as Nathan McAndrew joins Jack Carson in the middle. Somerset are dominating this.
