  1. A lot of Andersonspublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancs 454-8 v Derbys

    Tom HartleyImage source, Getty Images

Tom Hartley has fallen short of his fifty as he goes caught and bowled to Martin Andersson for 42.

It brings Anderson Phillip to the wicket.

James Anderson is next man in. Is that clear?

  2. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 221-4 v Yorkshire 255

Jason Roy reminds us all of what he can do with a bat in his hands and slaps away a powerful cover drive for four off Jordan Thompson to move onto 14.

That crossed the rope almost the moment it left Thompson's hand, such was the power behind it.

Surrey were forced to effectively rebuild from scratch when Dan Lawrence and Kurtis Patterson got out in quick succession but they're settling down again with Roy and Ben Foakes.

  3. 'This is a big innings'published at 15:16 British Summer Time 17 May

    Warwicks 194 v Hants 300 & 9-0

    Kevan James
Former Middlesex & Hampshire cricketer on BBC Radio Solent

    Hampshire have started strongly here.

    There's three slips in place.

This is a big innings now, I think the close of play will give us a good idea of who's on top.

  4. Hampshire begin second inningspublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 17 May

    Warwicks 194 v Hants 300 & 6-0

Hampshire have 14 overs to bat before what will be a late tea.

Mark Stoneman and Fletcha Middleton walk to the middle and Ethan Bamber leads the attack for the Bears.

Stoneman fell just short of his fifty first time around, while the out-of-form Middleton went early for four.

A clip through midwicket gets Stoneman off the mark with a single

But Middleton almost goes first ball as a top edge flies just over the top of second slip to the third man boundary.

  5. 150 runs

150 up for Leicestershirepublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 17 May

    Middlesex 232 v Leics 153-4

Leicestershire move past the 150 mark and they're slowly closing in on the 232 Middlesex managed in their first innings.

The visitors are just 79 runs behind now and this partnership between Peter Handscomb (52*) and Ian Holland (26*) has been vital.

  6. Division Two updatepublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 17 May

Northants have had a bit of joy at last against Glamorgan taking two wickets in three overs to dismiss Sam Northeast for 67 and then Ben Kellaway who made an impressive 95.

The duo put on 141 for the fifth wicket and Glamorgan's lead is a healthy looking 139.

Kent have also taken a couple of wickets against Gloucestershire.

Ben Charlesworth fell to Jake Ball for 41 before Ollie Price went lbw to Nathan Gilchrist for 40. Disappointing for both batters to get dismissed within sight of 50.

  7. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 120-6

Jack Leach has recently been brought into the attack for Somerset and Fynn Hudson-Prentice pushes one towards the covers but Tom Lammonby makes an excellent stop, diving to his left to prevent a potential boundary.

That epitomises the performance with the ball and in the field today for the hosts. They're well on top at Taunton.

  8. Postpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 186-2 v Notts 407

Emilio Gay aims a big booming drive at Rob Lord, but it's a big play and miss.

Lord has bowled well without luck so far today from his 10 overs.

Gay calms things down and picks up a single off the next ball to move to 22.

Alex Lees does likewise to go to 68.

Liam Patterson-White comes into the attack for the first time today, replacing Freddie McCann.

  9. Postpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 204-4 v Yorkshire 255

It's taken him 16 balls to do it but Ben Foakes is finally off the mark for Surrey.

Those two quick wickets of Dan Lawrence and Kurtis Patterson for Yorkshire have really slowed up Surrey's progress.

Jason Roy is five not out.

  10. 100 up for Essexpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 17 May

    Worcs 358 v Essex 101-6

    Essex limp to three figures.

It's been a real challenge for them so far today.

Simon Harmer took 11 balls to get off the mark and Noah Thain is still on 0.

Can these two build any sort of partnership? Something that has been sorely lacking so far.

    The Pears are in control.

  11. WARWICKSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 194published at 15:02 British Summer Time 17 May

    Simmons c Brown b Turner 8 (Warwicks 194 v Hants 300)

That's that as the Bears concede a first innings deficit of 106 after a below-par batting display.

Che Simmons gives himself plenty of room for a big swing, but top-edges John Turner through to Hants wicketkeeper Ben Brown.

Full credit to the Hants bowlers mind you, with Brad Wheal (2-49) and the evergreen Kyle Abbott (5-47) doing most of the damage.

  12. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancs 444-7 v Derbys

Derbyshire continue to toil in the Manchester sunshine as Tom Hartley and Tom Bailey become the latest Lancashire batters to put on a fifty partnership.

Hartley has made 35 off 69 balls, while Bailey has 27 off 69.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Handscombpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 17 May

    Middlesex 232 v Leics 146-4

Peter Handscomb raises his bat after getting 50 for Leics at Lord's against MiddlesexImage source, Rex Features

Peter Handscomb moves past 50 for Leicestershire, who are making Middlesex work for this fifth wicket.

The partnership between Handscomb and Ian Holland (20*) is now worth 65 runs and is comfortably their biggest of the innings so far.

The visitors just starting to work their way back into it.

  14. 'Sussex in deep trouble'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 104-6

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

It's another misjudgement, Sussex are in deep trouble.

Extraordinary to see two experienced players leave two balls on the off stump.

A great spell for Overton, if the wickets go down will we see the follow on?

The top order has been absolutely wiped out.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 17 May

    Das c Jones b Waite 44 (Worcs 358 v Essex 98-6)

    Robin DasImage source, Rex Features

    Well, well, well.

This is getting worse for Essex.

Robin Das who had been the shining beacon of hope for the visitors has just been dismissed with Matthew Waite bagging his first wicket.

The visitors are still to reach three figures and they have two new batters - Noah Thain and Simon Harmer - who are yet to get off the mark.

The Pears need to drive home their advantage now if they want to win their first game of the season - they won't get a much better chance than this to break their duck.

  16. 200 runs

200 up for Surreypublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 201-4 v Yorkshire 255

Surrey have raced along to 200 since lunch and they're now only 54 runs behind Yorkshire but they've lost a few wickets in doing so.

  17. Five-wicket haul for Kyle Abbottpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 17 May

    Barnard c Brown b Abbott 58 (Warwicks 190-9 v Hants 300)

    Kyle AbbottImage source, Rex Features

Kyle Abbott may not be as young as he once was but he continues to be a high-class operator.

Ed Barnard plays at a ball outside off-stump which holds its line and takes a faint top edge through to wicketkeeper Ben Brown.

    A 44th five-wicket haul for the 37-year-old South African in first-class cricket.

He has 5-45 off 17 overs.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 17 May

    Hughes b Overton 38 (Somerset 338 v Sussex 104-6)

    Deja vu...

Craig Overton dismisses opener Daniel Hughes in identical fashion to how he got John Simpson just a few overs ago.

It's on a length outside off, Hughes leaves it and it arcs back in viciously to clatter into off stump.

Hughes clearly not learning from the mistake his skipper made and he goes for 38.

Sussex are in deep, deep trouble now.

  19. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 174-2 v Notts 407

Mohammad Abbas has his hands on his head as he angles one across Emilio Gay.

It turns the batter right round, and comes off a thick edge down to the third man boundary. Gay had no idea where that was heading.

    He moves up to 12.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 17 May

    Pepper c Brookes b Taylor 13 (Worcs 358 v Essex 98-5)

Tom Taylor is bowling magnificently well for the hosts and picks up his third wicket of the day with a peach of a delivery to do for Michael Pepper.

Ethan Brookes again takes the catch in the slips - this one a little easier than the brilliant one he made to dismiss Dean Elgar.

Essex are five down without reaching 100.

Robin Das has remained steadfast and is on 44 not out but no one else has been able to deal with the Taylor/Allison combo.

    Taylor 3-17 from 11 overs; Allison 2-23 from 12.

    That's pretty good going!
