    Surrey 149-2 v Yorkshire 255

Surrey's Dan Lawrence is back out to bat after lunch having gone into the break in some discomfort with a back injury.

He manages to get one away for a single on the leg side from Jordan Buckingham but he still doesn't look overly at ease with the pain.

  2. Postpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 17 May

    Warwicks 109-6 v Hants 300

Kyle Abbott bowls the final four balls of his 13th over to start the afternoon session at Edgbaston.

New batter Zen Malik plays out four dots. The 27-year-old made a century last weekend in just his second first-class match.

How the Bears could do with a repeat today.

Brad Wheal's opening over of the session costs two singles before Ed Barnard goes aerial to a rising ball outside off-stump and picks up a boundary. He moves to nine.

    Glamorgan 216-4 v Northants 185

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan enjoyed a one-sided first session as they added a further 134 runs for the loss of Kiran Carlson’s wicket as Northants’ seamers failed to find the threat that the bowlers demonstrated on the first day.

Carlson got Glamorgan’s momentum going in the Cardiff sunshine before he was snared into flicking a leg-side catch to Saif Zaib off Ben Sanderson for 54.

But Northants could not keep the pressure on despite two very tight spells from captain Luke Procter, leading by example as he also threw himself into a couple of boundary saves.

While Sam Northeast reached a patient 50 off 120 balls, the in-form Ben Kellaway was quickly into his stride to take Glamorgan ahead with the promise of a significant lead.

I wonder if Lancashire get confused having two Toms, two Georges and two Andersons in the team. Then again not as bad as the Sunday League match back in 2001 (Yorkshire LPS and Amarmilan) in that match all 22 players had the surname Patel, as well as the scorer.

    Glen

I had to check this out as it seemed far fetched but it was indeed the case! BBC Sport's Chris Charles covered the incredible story back in July 2001.

Wisden called the game "extraordinary" adding "the chances of it happening must be billions to one".

If you're interested, Amarmilan beat Yorkshire LPS by 31 runs.

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 68-2

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

After six wickets fell yesterday, we had six in the morning session with this game evenly poised.

Somerset lost their last four wickets for just 21 with Nathan McAndrew and Ollie Robinson cleaning up the Somerset tail.

Sussex then lost Haines and Clark before lunch with Matt Henry on his first appearance of the season taking one of the wickets.

There is still help for seamers on this pitch but with sunny conditions could turn this into an excellent batting surface later in the game.

    Surrey 145-2 v Yorkshire 255

Yorkshire will have been happy with the opening 70 minutes of the first session, getting rid of Rory Burns and Dom Sibley, but Surrey have got on top since then.

Kurtis Patterson has batted wonderfully on his County Championship debut for his unbeaten 50 and Dan Lawrence (19*) has got himself in as well.

The lead has been cut to just 113 for Yorkshire and Surrey still have eight wickets in hand to work with and close in on that gap.

Middlesex celebrate Toby Roland-Jones taking a wicket against LeicsImage source, Rex Features

It's been largely Middlesex's morning at Lord's as we head for lunch.

The hosts have picked up three wickets in the first session, getting rid of Sol Budinger, Rehan Ahmed and Lewis Hill.

Division Two's leaders Leicestershire have plenty of work to do to reduce the 120-run deficit this afternoon.

Charlie Allison was dismissed by his brother Ben before Tom Taylor took the wickets of Tom Westley and the prize scalp of Dean Elgar.

Robin Das (27*) and Matt Critchley (6*) will be at the crease when we return in about 40 minutes.

50 for Pattersonpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 145-2 v Yorkshire 255

Kurtis Patterson rushes through for a quick single and gets a well-deserved 50 on debut for Surrey.

His batting partner Dan Lawrence looks in a bit of discomfort with his back and might need some treatment at lunch.

  14. Lunch at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 107-0 v Notts 407

A perfect morning for the home side as Durham reach lunch unscathed after resuming on 2-0.

James Minto has been superb, bringing up his maiden first-class fifty and goes to lunch unbeaten on 63 from 111 balls.

Alex Lees at the other end is 11 runs shy of his fifty.

The Notts bowlers have been unable to create much danger of what looks a belting batting pitch.

  15. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 68-2

It's all fairly evenly poised as we head for lunch at Taunton.

Somerset suffered a mini-collapse first thing this morning, adding just 21 runs to their overnight score and losing their final four wickets within 40 minutes.

Archie Vaughan did record his career best of 80 on the way to their total of 338.

Sussex's in-form batter Tom Haines was caught behind for 24 off Craig Overtonn and Matt Henry trapped Tom Clark LBW for just four as the visitors go for a bite to eat at 68-2.

    Glamorgan v Northants 185

Sam Northeast leading the front as usual for Glamorgan as he reaches a half-century in 120 balls.

Northeast is capable of some big scores - might he get another here?

Ben Kellaway at the other end is on 43 and Glamorgan's lead is 31 as we approach lunch.

  17. WICKET and Lunch at Edgbastonpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 17 May

    Webster b Abbott 41 (Warwicks 103-6) v Hants 300

A perfect end to a brilliant session for Hampshire.

Beau Webster has looked the batter most likely for the Bears, but aims a drive at a Kyle Abbott ball which nips back sharply and thuds into leg stump.

Hampshire have fully pressed home their advantage this morning, picking up four further wickets as the Bears added 76 runs to their overnight 27-2.

It could have been worse - Hampshire shelled three more chances.

Much work for the Bears lower order to drag the hosts back into the match.

    Warwicks 103-5 v Hants 300

Ed Barnard almost gets a top edge to a Kyle Abbott bouncer but it flies over the slips and four keg byes are given.

It brings up the 100 for the Bears in the 36th over, but at the cost of five wickets.

    Surrey 138-2 v Yorkshire 255

Full half-volley from Jordan Thompson and Surrey's Kurtis Patterson punishes it with a lovely cover drive.

It races away for four and Patterson is racing towards 50. Just two more needed for a half-century on debut.
