  1. 50 runs

50 for James Mintopublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 82-0 v Notts 407

What a moment for the 17-year-old as he back-cuts Brett Hutton for four to bring up his maiden first-class fifty.

James Minto - playing his first game of the season - was sent in last night to see out the final over of the day and has more than just stuck around.

Having bettered a first-class best score of 25, he has plundered eight boundaries this morning to reach the career landmark off just 61 balls.

And he becomes the youngest Durham player to make a first-class fifty.

    Chapeau!

    Warwicks 81-4 v Hants 300

Warwickshire survive yet another scare as a mix up between the batters sees Beau Webster stranded way out of his ground.

Nick Gubbins at cover hurls the ball at the stumps and it doesn't miss by much.

Sam Hain has been dropped twice this morning, too, but drives John Turner through midwicket to bring up the fifty partnership off 99 balls.

  3. Postpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 27-0

Josh Davey bangs one in short of a length for Somerset and Sussex opener Tom Haines is quickly onto it to pull it away to the mid-wicket boundary.

Lovely shot but too short from Davey, really.

The sun is shining at Taunton and Haines is enjoying himself.

  4. Postpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 70-0 v Notts 407

Rob Lord continues to bowl a nagging line from the Lumley End and draws another play and miss from James Minto.

The tall fast bowler then bangs one in short and Minto ducks underneath it. Just one from the over.

Good stuff from Lord who has stemmed the flow of runs.

  5. Postpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 94-2 v Yorkshire 255

Kurtis Patterson creams his 50th ball on debut for Surrey through the covers for four off Jordan Buckingham to move onto 19.

He's settling in quite nicely now after a lively start to his innings and the hosts are edging towards the 100 mark.

  6. 'Notts are trying to build some pressure'published at 12:18 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 70-0 v Notts 407

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Hereford & Worcestershire

The runs have just dried up a little bit for Durham.

Notts are just trying to build up a bit of pressure at the moment.

  7. Postpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 22-0

It's been a solid start to the innings for Sussex in reply to Somerset's 338.

Tom Haines nudges a single into the off side and has already moved onto 16 from 21. Daniel Hughes has six from 16 deliveries.

Matt Henry is getting some zip off the surface for the hosts, though, as he rips one through just past the outside of Hughes' bat.

  8. ouch!

Postpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 69-0 v Notts 407

Another break in play as Liam Patterson-White is down and hurt after pulling out a good stop to a James Minto cover drive.

The all-rounder got up with a limp and quickly went down again and the physios race across the pitch to his assistance.

He continues after treatment but still doesn't look entirely comfortable out there.

  9. Postpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 86-2 v Yorkshire 255

Two wickets inside the opening hour and 10 minutes for Yorkshire, then. Jonny Bairstow and his side would probably have taken that if you'd offered it to them at 11am.

Nicely poised now with Surrey still trailing by 169 runs and eight wickets still in hand.

  10. 'Sibley is not happy'published at 12:13 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 86-2 v Yorkshire 255

    Nikki Chaudhuri
Commentator on BBC 5 Sports Extra

He can't seem to believe it Dom Sibley.

Sibley is not happy, it was one of those where you expected the finger to go up.

Some good stuff from Yorkshire this morning.

  11. KENT ALL OUT FOR 424published at 12:12 British Summer Time 17 May

    Glos v Kent 424

Kashif Ali is the last man out for Kent who post 424 in Bristol.

They lost their first five wickets before lunch yesterday and were 74-5 after 24.1 overs but a huge partnership between Grant Stewart (182) and Chris Benjamin (93) has put the visitors on top.

Ajeet Singh Dale starred with the ball for Glos, taking seven wickets for 110 runs in 26 overs.

    Sibley lbw b Hill 29 (Surrey 86-2 v Yorkshire 255)

And there is another for Yorkshire!

It's a good fast and straight ball by George Hill and it just catches Dom Sibley out a bit.

Sibley is trapped in front, it looked to be going on to hit and the umpire agrees.

He walks LBW for 29 and both Surrey openers are gone.

  13. Postpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 17 May

    Surrey 86-1 v Yorkshire 255

Surrey are ticking along quite nicely as Dom Sibley moves onto 29 and Kurtis Patterson is onto 15.

That early wicket of Rory Burns today was a key breakthrough but Yorkshire need to try and back it up with another.

  14. Postpublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 17 May

    Durham 69-0 v Notts 407

Rob Lord is into the attack as Nottinghamshire grow increasingly keen for a breakthrough.

The paceman is into his stride immediately with a good line and length, beating the outside edge of James Minto.

The increasingly confident Minto then calmly pushes into the offside for a single to keep the strike and move within four runs of his maiden half-century.

George Balderson gets a thick edge off Anuj Dal and it races to the third man boundary to become the third Lancashire batter of the innings to reach a half-century.

He started the day on one and has attacked well, finding the boundary rope 11 times to get to his 10th first-class fifty off 70 balls.

It's his second of the season

Middlesex are getting stuck into this Leicestershire top order!

Rehan Ahmed pushes at one outside off stump from Toby Roland-Jones and takes the dreaded inside edge...

It ricochets off his leg and onto the stumps.

Big wicket for the hosts and the Division Two leaders are under a bit of pressure here.

  17. Division Two updatepublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 17 May

Gloucestershire's Ajeet Singh Dale has picked up his seventh wicket by dismissing Kent's Jake Ball for six.

    Kent are on 420-9.

  18. Postpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 17 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 4-0

New Zealand bowler Matt Henry is straight into the bowling attack for Somerset on his first appearance since 2023 after returning to the club.

Three tidy deliveries before Daniel Hughes drives one out towards extra cover and he's able to run three with opening partner Tom Haines.

A dot and a single for Haines to finish the first over of the Sussex innings.

    Warwicks 60-4 v Hants 300

James Fuller joins Brad Wheal in the attack as Kyle Abbott takes a breather.

A tidy start from Hampshire's top scorer yesterday. Maiden.

  20. Second batting point for Lancashirepublished at 11:53 British Summer Time 17 May

    Lancs 305-5 v Derbys

George Bell brings up the 300 for the Red Rose with his third boundary, this time off Zak Chappell.

George Balderson has 34 and the partnership is worth 61.

So far so good for the hosts who are yet to lose a wicket this morning.
