    Durham v Yorks 303-9

Dom Bess makes sure Yorkshire bag their second batting bonus point with a well-executed ramp shot off Raine for four which brings up the 300.

But the ninth wicket from the Durham bowler has ensured it is the hosts who shade the bonus point equation with three.

    Sears b Raine 1 (Durham v Yorks 297-9)

Ben Raine strikes early... and it is Ben Sears who is on his way, undone by a delivery which nips back off the seam and through the Yorkshire tailender's questionable defences.

Durham's openers will thinking about donning their pads now with one wicket to go.

  3. Under way at Chelmsfordpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex 179 v Worcestershire 102-4

A nice early settler for Adam Hose who goes up on to his toes and pushes Shane Snater's third ball of the morning to the cover fence off the back foot.

That brings up the Worcestershire 100 and moves the tall right-hander into the 40s.

Essex have given a first-class debut to Simon Fernandes behind the stumps on day two.

They lost Michael Pepper to injury and his deputy - Jordan Cox - isn't 100% fit to carry on today.

So, it looks like we're getting under way in six of our nine matches on time.

Play at Edgbaston, Old Trafford and the Utilita Bowl in Southampton should begin in 30 minutes.

  6. Bears eyeing rebuild job, weather permittingpublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 19 April

Warwickshire 34-2 v Nottinghamshire - play to start at 11:30 BST

We only got 56 deliveries on day one before the rain came at Edgbaston but, in that time, Nottinghamshire showed what a good toss it was to win.

Brett Hutton used the overcast conditions excellently, getting his outswinger going at his perfect kiss-the-surface pace.

He got rid of both Warwickshire openers - Rob Yates with one that ducked in to the left-hander and captain Alex Davies with one that marginally went the other way to the right-hander as both perished lbw.

Much will depend on Sam Hain and Hamza Shaikh continuing their rebuild job against a fresh Hutton and Josh Tongue, who managed two balls before the rain came.

They're hoping to get under way at 11:30 BST.

  7. Somerset look to Abell for resistancepublished at 10:54 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Somerset 94-6

Somerset have the rain to thank for the fact they are still batting on day two after a six-wicket collapse in the single session that the weather did allow on day one.

And even with a little bit of wet weather forecast for day two resulting in a delayed start, they look up against it already against Hampshire at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton.

Not for the first time already this season much rests on the shoulders of Tom Abell, Somerset's last recognised batter, who resumes on 10 this morning with Craig Overton.

Hampshire will feel his wicket stands between them and potentially a significant first innings advantage.

  8. Sussex look to keep champions at baypublished at 10:52 British Summer Time 19 April

    Sussex 227-2 v Surrey

It was a tetchy Surrey captain Rory Burns who chuntered his way through the final knockings of the first day at Hove after proceedings went almost wholly in Sussex's favour.

Understandable really given Surrey struggled to make inroads (40 overs of seam yielding one wicket) when they were on the pitch with Tom Haines (89*) and Tom Alsop (39*) looking fairly comfortable with whatever the champions threw at them.

At 227-2 overnight Sussex are in a solid position to show the rest of Division One that their lofty position at the top of the table is no flash in the pan.

More good news for the hosts is that the weather looks set to play ball as well as John Simpson's side, with plenty of batting to come, set sail for maximum batting points.

  9. Big first session ahead for Essex and Pearspublished at 10:50 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex 179 v Worcestershire 98-4

    Shane SnaterImage source, Rex Features

A better day for Worcestershire than Essex on day one but that can all change very quickly given the delicate way this game's poised.

To run through Essex for 179 was a fine effort from the Pears, in albeit friendly conditions, but when Shane Snater and co had them 22-4, that Essex total looked very decent.

It might still be.That will depend on how quickly the home side can re-group from being frustrated by Adam Hose and Brett D'Oliveira's gritty 76-run stand.

If they can break it early then, there's every chance they can still secure a significant first-innings lead.

  10. 'Wasn't a bad day for Durham's bowlers'published at 10:48 British Summer Time 19 April

    Durham v Yorkshire 295-8

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

I have seen some suggestions Yorkshire edged day one after being put in, but I don't see it like that.

They have just the one batting point and are eight down, which suggests to me it wasn't a bad day for Durham's bowlers.

Ben Raine took two wickets in two balls when the new ball was inytroduced, in gloomy conditions last night. But the moment that new ball was handed to Matthew Potts, the umpires took the players off for bad light.

It's another cloudy and chilly day on the banks of The Wear and we will attempt to claw back some of the 15 overs lost last night by having 104 today. But again the light may be an issue later.

  11. Bess foot forward as Yorkshire look for tail to wagpublished at 10:47

    Durham v Yorkshire 295-8

Yorkshire all-rounder Dom BessImage source, Rex Features

Two late wickets from Ben Raine with the first two deliveries of the second new ball turned this match back from a solid Yorkshire day to even stevens at the end of day one.

And while neither side will be too disappointed with their efforts at the Riverside yesterday, both have a chance to go in at the quarter way stage, with their tails up.

Dom Bess on an unbeaten 57 resumes with much riding on his shoulders. A repeat of his century against Worcestershire in the second innings of the second round earlier this week would be handy.

In Ben Sears he has a capable number 10 for company.

Durham, who had put Yorkshire into bat after winning the toss, will look to chip out the last two wickets ASAP then set course with the bat on a day where the weather looks set to behave.
