Leicestershire openers celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Leicestershire have made a superb start to the season and they're off to an excellent start in their first innings at Old Trafford.

Rehan Ahmed and Sol Budinger have taken the Foxes to 74-0 in reply to Lancashire's 263 all out.

Ben Compton and Grant Stewart have led Kent's fightback against Gloucestershire. Their seventh-wicket stand of 116 has taken Kent to 314-6 and they trail by 158.

Middlesex continue to dominate against Glamorgan. The hosts are 340-4 at Lord's with Leus du Plooy and Ben Geddes closing in on a century stand.

Northants have lost a couple of quick wickets at Derbyshire but they're still handily placed on 212-3. Luke Procter is unbeaten on 89 and they're just 95 in arrears.

  2. Close of play at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 19 April

    Durham 264-1 v Yorks 307

And that is that for the day with the gloom refusing to shift.

Durham are in control of everything about this match but the weather with Alex Lees unbeaten on 148 and Emilio Gay alongside him with 105 in the bank.

Durham trail by just 43 runs on Yorkshire's stuttering first innings effort and Jonny Bairstow's side could be staring at a huge deficit unless something dramatic happens early on day three.

George Hill took the only wicket to fall, Ben McKinney edging to Adam Lyth at second slip with the opener taking a sharp low chance.

Aside from that it has been one way traffic.

    Paul Walter is finally dismissed.

Tom Taylor gets one through his defences. It looks a bit of a tired prod from the left-hander as his middle stump jumps out the ground.

That's understandable. He's been at it on a tricky pitch for more than four hours and he's got his team in a great position to go on and win this match.

    The lead is 190.

  4. Postpublished at 18:15 British Summer Time 19 April

    Warwickshire 93 v Nottinghamshire 164-4

There's been a definite upping of intent since 'heelgate' and it's been led by Kyle Verreynne - the one with the offended Achilles.

The South African keeper has got to 20 off 26 in punchy style, adding 32 in 48 balls so far with Haseeb Hameed.

That's just put the Bears back in their box a bit after they got rid of McCann, Clarke and Haynes in swift order.

  5. 'Burns was looking for that to go across him'published at 18:12 British Summer Time 19 April

    Sussex 435 v Surrey 34-1

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Rory Burns was looking to let one go and he's knocked his off stump out of the ground.

He was looking for that to go across him and it hasn't.

    Just a midjusgement.

  6. wicket

    Burns b Robinson 16 (Sussex 435 v Surrey 34-1)

And the off stump goes cartwheeling... Rory Burns misjudged that horribly.

Ollie Robinson has looked threatening both on line and height with a couple that have reared up, but that was right on the stumps.

Burns thought it was going across him and safely into John Simpson's gloves and has shouldered arms but it has possibly nipped back a touch and walloped the top of off.

That brings Ollie Pope to the wicket.

  7. 'Well played Paul Walter'published at 18:01 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex 179 & 196-5 v Worcestershire 202

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

Paul Walter salutes the crowd and even cuddles Noah Thain because I do think he has contributed to this emotionally and numerically.

Well played Paul Walter, he'll be over the moon.

He's beaten his season's best and this is such an important knock.

    Brilliant from Paul Walter.

He's played the perfect hand for his side. It's only his third ton for Essex but surely the most important one as he repays the faith of Chris Silverwood in bumping him up to open.

He gets to three figures in fitting style, rocking back and pummeling Ethan Brookes through mid-wicket for his 13th boundary.

A match-winning century? Essex will certainly hope so.

    The lead is 173.

  9. 150 runs

for Nottspublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 19 April

    Warwickshire 93 v Nottinghamshire 149-4

Kyle Verreynne has hit the gas by creaming three fours off Ethan Bamber.

He seemed to get cross when Olly Hannon-Dalby's gentle lob back towards the stumps on his follow through hit the South African on the heels as he turned his back.

The umpires had a word with Bears captain Alex Davies. OHD raised a hand immediately.

    All sorted now.

  10. Postpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 19 April

    Sussex 435 v Surrey 16-0

Little bit of bounce for Ollie Robinson one ball and then the next keeps low as Rory Burns keeps watch as it passes through to John Simpson, who sets the mark for no fewer than four slips and a gully.

There does not look to be a whole lot in this pitch with the draw already heavily odds on but if there is to be something Robinson's efforts over the next three in this spell could be key.

  11. 'Verreynne is a very special player'published at 17:46 British Summer Time 19 April

    Warwickshire 93 v Nottinghamshire 136-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

A very, very special player comes out, Kyle Verreynne, and for my money he's up there among the best wicketkeeper-batters in the country.

  12. 50 runs

for Hameedpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 19 April

    Warwickshire 93 v Nottinghamshire 136-4

The Notts skipper brings up his half-century with a typically graceful stroke.

Ethan Bamber floats an outswinger up and Hameed goes with the movement and times the trousers off it through the covers for four.

A 42nd first-class fifty for the former England opener.

  13. 'A good little spell for the Bears'published at 17:42 British Summer Time 19 April

    Warwickshire 93 v Nottinghamshire 132-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Olly Hannon-Dalby gets Jack Haynes so his previous Edgbaston form counts for nothing here.

It was a pitched up delivery and Haynes played all around it and has to go.

This has been a good little spell for the Bears, they've got four wickets now either side of tea.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 19 April

    Haynes lbw b Hannon-Dalby 7 (Warwickshire 93 v Nottinghamshire 132-4)

Jack Haynes goes. Feet stuck in concrete a bit and Olly Hannon-Dalby strikes him in front of the lot.

    A classic OHD dismissal that.

The Bears have four. You can't call it a comeback yet, but the home side are fighting.

  15. Close!published at 17:38 British Summer Time 19 April

    Sussex 435 v Surrey 0-0

Rory Burns survives a big appeal first ball from Ollie Robinson as Surrey start out on the long slog of chasing down Sussex's first-innings score.

The opener might have been saved by height there as it looked quite straight.

  16. Essex's lead passes 150published at 17:34 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex 179 & 183-5 v Worcestershire 202

Another significant box ticked for Essex as they take the lead beyond 150.

Paul Walter remains the thorn in the Pears' ribcage. He's got 89 now with Noah Thain growing in confidence on 24.

Jacob Duffy is back into the attack for Worcestershire but not a lot is happening for the visitors.

  17. 'Somerset desperate to get ball changed'published at 17:32 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire 158-3 v Somerset 184

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Craig Overton is saying to the umpire I think that ball needs another look at and the umpire at square leg is saying ok yep let's have a look but umpire David Mills is happy with it.

They're desperate to get this ball changed and I don't blame them. There's nothing happening for the bowlers at the moment.

  18. Postpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire 158-3 v Somerset 184

Somerset slogging away as the shadows start to lengthen at Southampton but this is hard going and Hampshire are only 26 runs behind now.

Liam Dawson and Nick Gubbins is a partnership with runs written all over it and one James Rew's side need to break if they are to keep a foothold in this match.

There are 24 overs left in the day should the light hold.

  19. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 19 April

    Warwickshire 93 v Nottinghamshire 126-3

    Haseeb Hameed has a life.

It was a tough chance but Ethan Bamber can't hold on to one high and to his left as Hameed mis-times an on-drive off Michael Booth.

It would've been a brilliant grab - one of those that either stick or they don't when you thrust an instinctive arm out as Bamber did in mid-air.

    Hameed up to 47.

  20. Postpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 19 April

    Warwickshire 93 v Nottinghamshire 117-3

Back-to-back boundaries from Haseeb Hameed off Vishwa Fernando has just let a bit of air out of the Bears balloon after getting Joe Clarke cheaply.

Michael Booth, who made the breakthrough, is now having a go at Notts' hero from their draw with Essex.

Haynes, who made a career-best 142 against Essex, is off the mark with a controlled guide to deep third.
