  5. KENT DREW WITH NORTHANTSpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 160-8 v Northants 722-6 dec

In the end, time has run out for Northamptonshire's victory hopes.

With Joey Evison and Tawanda Muyeye edging Kent into the lead, the 10 minutes required for a change of innings were no longer available.

Plenty of thrills and spills during the final afternoon - but it ends in a draw.

    Kent 566-8 dec & 150-8 v Northants 722-6 dec

Tawanda Muyeye hammers the first ball of Calvin Harrison's next over for four - and suddenly Kent are glimpsing safety.

Every run is vital now because if the home side can get six more, there would be only one over or so for Northamptonshire to chase even a miniscule target.

  11. Postpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 145-8 v Northants 722-6 dec

Tawanda Muyeye is off the mark, turning Calvin Harrison for a single on the leg side and leaves Joey Evison, the set batter, to take the next four balls.

Evison steps onto the back foot to punch Harrison for two and adds a Kent are gradually creeping towards level pegging. They need 11 more to make the visitors bat again.

  12. 'Revis and Coad partnership turned game'published at 17:40 British Summer Time 2 July

    Result: Yorks 459 & 41-0 v Essex 368 & 131

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

A 10-wicket win by Yorkshire and an 88th win in the history of first-class cricket against Essex. It brings to an end a run of six matches without a win since that second game of the season against Worcestershire at Headingley.

These 11 players have put the York back in Yorkshire. Well done to Jonny Bairstow, Anthony McGrath and the boys.

A first as well at this venue in first-class cricket for Yorkshire.

From Yorkshire's point of view that is the icing on the cake because Championship wins don't come easy and in recent history neither do wins over Essex.

The game turned really with that partnership on day three between Matthew Revis with that magnificent 150 and Ben Coad also a career-best for him of 89. You could almost feel the energy drain out of Essex from that point on and they haven't been able to raise it sufficiently on this final day to get out of this big hole that they dug themselves in.

  13. Postpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 137-8 v Northants 722-6 dec

It must be tempting for Kent to make a dash for the 19 runs that would force Northamptonshire to bat again - and take valuable time out of the game.

Joey Evison takes a couple off the first ball of this latest Yuzi Chahal over and there are a minimum of three remaining.

WICKETpublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 2 July

    Quinn c Chahal b Harrison 13 (Kent 566-8 dec & 135-8 v Northants 722-6 dec)

    Breakthrough!

Matt Quinn appears to lose concentration as he swings at Calvin Harrison and skies to mid-off.

But Kent spirits have been boosted by the sight of Tawanda Muyeye - who hadn't been expected to bat - walking out to the middle in Quinn's place.

  15. Postpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 134-7 v Northants 722-6 dec

It's another Yuzi Chahal over and this time Joey Evison waits until the third ball before guiding him behind point for a single.

Chahal surprises Matt Quinn with a bit of extra flight and finds a leading edge - but the ball flies to ground and Kent breathe a collective sigh of relief.

  16. Postpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 133-7 v Northants 722-6 dec

It looks as though Northants' experiment with Liam Guthrie was a short-lived one - after just a single over, they've reverted to Calvin Harrison's leg-spin.

Joey Evison cuts Harrison for a rare boundary before taking his customary early single in the over and then it's down to Matt Quinn to do the spadework for the next four balls.

He's doing it admirably at the moment.

  17. Postpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 128-7 v Northants 722-6 dec

The close-range contingent of fielders all throw their arms in the air as Yuzi Chahal appeals for leg before against Matt Quinn.

Their entreaties fail to persuade the umpire, though and Quinn prods, fends off and finds his way through the rest of the over.

A minimum of seven overs left.

  18. GLAMORGAN DREW WITH GLOUCSpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 2 July

    Glamorgan 528 v Gloucestershire 380 & 255-7 dec

It proved to tougher than they might have expected but Gloucestershire leave Sophia Gardens with a draw,

Trailing by 148 on first innings, they lost both openers before they had 50 on the board - Joe Phillips falling to a quite astonishing catch at short leg by Asa Tribe which will live long in the memory of those who saw it.

Miles Hammond batted well for 84 before becomeing one of Ben Kellaway's six victims in a career-best bowling display.

Ben Charlesworth and Todd Murphy, though, saw the total beyond 250 before the teams shook hands.

  19. Postpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 127-7 v Northants 722-6 dec

Northants summon left-arm paceman Liam Guthrie for a burst.

Joey Evison pulls a single, exposing Matt Quinn to the final two deliveries of the over.

The first is a bouncer, which doesn't trouble him, and neither does the last which is way down the leg-side and astonishingly not called a wide.

  20. 'Both sides have been done by the ball'published at 17:21 British Summer Time 2 July

    Result: Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 362 & 262-0

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Well played Alex Lees, a 100 in the first innings and 100 in the second innings, Emilio Gay 156 not out and Durham 262-0. They've done that really well.

Surrey tried everything with their 820-9 declared and then bowling Durham out this morning for 362 but not a great deal has happened for the bowlers today.

It means Durham will leave south London with 11 points and Surrey 15.

I think really and truly both sides have been done by the ball which is a shame.
