  1. Tea at the Kia Ovalpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 362 & 185-0

No wickets down in Durham's second innings and the body language of the Surrey fielders indicates they have all but given up on their hopes of forcing victory now.

Emilio Gay has 133, with Alex Lees on 51 - and the pair have now set a record for the highest Durham partnership for any wicket against Surrey in the Championship.

They've just overtaken the 183 posted by Will Smith and Scott Borthwick at Chester-le-Street in 2013.

  2. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:44 British Summer Time

    Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415 & 215-3

Warwickshire lead by 97 runs with seven wickets in hand at the tea interval.

26 overs are left on the slate, although we might not see all of those, should the teams choose to shake hands on a draw early.

Sam Hain has made 38* without a single boundary while Zen Malik has three in his 25*. James Coles picked up a couple of wickets this afternoon but they may not prove enough to force a result.

  3. 'Ahmed is Essex's last hope'published at 15:40 British Summer Time

    Yorks 459 v Essex 368 & 126-9

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

A reasonable bit of bowling by Dom Bess and Essex are on the verge of being bowled out in their second innings.

Khaleel Ahmed is Essex's last hope.

  4. ouch!

Postpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time

    Hampshire 221 & 234-4 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

    When you're luck's not in...

Callum Parkinson manages to find the edge of the shoulder of Ben Brown's bat, the ball flicks up off the glove of Gareth Roderick and into the forehead of Ben Allison at slip before bouncing away.

Painful, in every sense, for the Pears.

Brown survives on 75* with Liam Dawson on 37*.

  5. Postpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 & 193-4 v Notts 509

Haseeb Hameed has positioned himself at short mid-on - bet he's regretting that now.

Tom Abell tries to pull a ball from Lyndon James, gets right underneath it but it lands safely at orthodox mid-on as Hameed scurries back in vain to try and take the catch.

    Thain b Bess 8 (Yorks 459 v Essex 368 & 126-9)

Dom Bess comes up trumps as the ninth Essex wicket falls...

Noah Thain had done well to stick around for almost an hour, but he attempts to sweep the off-spinner and misses, with the ball careering into his stumps.

Essex's lead is a fragile 35 as last man Khaleel Ahmed joins Shane Snater.

  7. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time

    Hampshire 221 & 230-4 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

For the first time in a long time Callum Parkinson beats the edge of Ben Brown's bat as he comes forward in defence.

Hands on face and a long look to the blue sky for the spinner.

Pears have lost the vim and vigour they had after picking up their only wicket of the day now 35 overs ago.

There are that many left in the day and they still need six more wickets.

Brown has 71* from 205 balls and Liam Dawson 35* from 103.

  8. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 & 192-4 v Notts 509

How much belief do Notts have left? The pitch appears to be offering less sharp spin now than earlier in the game.

Liam Patterson-White - 4-94 - is given an ovrdue break and Lyndon James is called up for a bowl.

  9. 50 runs

for Alex Leespublished at 15:26 British Summer Time

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 362 & 168-0

Alex Lees, DurhamImage source, Rex Features

Alex Lees passes 50 for the second time in the match, drilling Will Jacks to the unguarded long-on boundary.

Lees has taken 94 balls to get there and his batting, both today and yesterday, is one of the main reasons Durham are currently looking odds on to return north with a draw.

  10. Postpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time

    Kent 566-8 dec & 60-2 v Northants 722-6 dec

Another landmark for Ben Compton, who follows Northamptonshire's Saif Zaib and Derbyshire skipper Wayne Madsen in passing 900 runs for the season in Championship Division Two.

He is 13 not out and Daniel Bell-Drummond has 18 - but Kent still trail by 94.

  11. 'Gay has played nicely'published at 15:21 British Summer Time

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 362 & 160-0

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Nicely played and nicely done by Emilio Gay.

He takes his Durham helmet off and he looks up skywards towards the sun and he raises his bat towards the Durham dressing room.

  12. Postpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time

    Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415 & 194-3

Zen Malik moves into double figures with a clip through mid-wicket for four off Jack Carson.

The Sussex fielders are crowding the bat and with their spin-only attack they are rattling through the overs - there are only 33 left in the day.

A new-ball will be available in 10 overs, by which time the Bears lead might be around 100.

Will we see a declaration or will the 17-overs lost to rain earlier in the day have scuppered any late drama?

  13. 'Kohler-Cadmore has come up trumps'published at 15:16 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 & 184-4 v Notts 509

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Tom Kohler-Cadmore went to the 100 in grand manner.

Well batted, that is a very important century for his side.

He's come up trumps and done the business when Somerset most needed it.

  14. Division Two updatepublished at 15:15 British Summer Time

Kent are 58-2 in their second innings - 98 behind - after Northants declared on 722-6, with Saif Zaib and Justin Broad making unbeaten centuries.

Gloucestershire are 179-4 against Glamorgan, a 31- run lead, and Miles Hammond is now 74 not out.

  15. 100 runs

for Emilio Gaypublished at 15:14 British Summer Time

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 362 & 144-0

Emilio Gay, DurhamImage source, Rex Features

Emilio Gay maintains his perfect conversion rate of 50s to hundreds as he brings up his third Championship ton for Durham from 98 balls.

The left-hander cut Will Jacks for another boundary before taking a single off the next delivery to bring up his hundred.

Surrey won't give up just yet, but time is running out - and they still need all 10 second-innings wickets.

  16. 'White seems to get something out of just about anything'published at 15:14 British Summer Time

    Yorks 459 v Essex 368 & 114-8

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

    Jack WhiteImage source, Rex Features

Jack White is a good bowler, he just seems to get something out of just about anything from what we've seen this season on the different surfaces he's played on this season and in the different conditions.

He tempted Michael Pepper into playing at it there, that was the key there.

Pepper who has put up some stubborn resistance for his team again against Yorkshire this season but it's not been quite his day today.

  17. 100 runs

for Tom Kohler-Cadmorepublished at 15:08 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 & 181-4 v Notts 509

    Tom Kohler-CadmoreImage source, Getty Images

Tom Kohler-Cadmore's bat has the word TON on it - or maybe it's NOT - and he goes to three figures with a boundary over mid-wicket off Farhan Ahmed.

It's his second century in successive Championship matches following his 104 against Warwickshire and has taken him 138 balls.

Jack White, YorkshireImage source, Rex Features

Jack White has struck again and Essex are eight down!

The seamer grabs his third of the innings as Michael Pepper departs, driving outside off stump and the resulting thick edge is grasped by Jonny Bairstow.

Yorkshire are into the tail now, with Shane Snater coming out to join Noah Thain - and just Khaleel Ahmed to come after them. The lead is a modest 23.

  19. 'Thain trying to hold Yorkshire up'published at 15:03 British Summer Time

    Yorks 459 v Essex 368 & 114-7

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Noah Thain is just trying in determined fashion here to hold Yorkshire up.

Essex began the day at 33-3. Runs have not been easy to come by but they have been easier for a spell after lunch.

  20. Postpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 & 171-4 v Notts 509

Farhan Ahmed returns for another spell after conceding 35 from five overs this morning - including three Tom Kohler-Cadmore sixes.

How will Somerset treat him this time? Respectfully is the answer - but TKC only faced one delivery in the over.
