    Kent 566-8 dec & 126-7 v Northants 722-6 dec

Arms flailing in the slips as Joey Evison edges onto his pad and the ball loops up but rolls to safety to bring him another two runs.

Matt Quinn picks up a boundary later in the over and that all helps to nudge Kent closer to parity.

  2. Postpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 119-7 v Northants 722-6 dec

Shadows lengthening - and Matt Quinn under renewed pressure as he faces the bulk of another Calvin Harrison over.

Quinn's playing it well, to give him credit - and Joey Evison clearly has plenty of confidence in his partner, taking singles from the first ball of the last two overs.

Tawanda Muyeye unlikely to bat for 'personal reasons' so Northants may only need two wickets.

  3. Postpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 2 July

    Glamorgan 528 v Glos 380 & 248-7

Gloucestershire's lead reaches exactly 100 and they now look safe.

There is minimum of 15 overs left in the game unless the two teams decide to cut it short.

  4. Postpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 118-7 v Northants 722-6 dec

Four fielders crouched around the bat on the off side as Matt Quinn fends off five deliveries from Yuzi Chahal.

Kent still trail by 38 but, if they can wipe out that deficit, it would probably save the game.

  5. 'Worcestershire played all the cricket'published at 17:11 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 221 & 294-4 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec - match drawn

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

A fantastic effort from Liam Dawson and Ben Brown. They took time out of the game and gradually the sting out of the Worcestershire attack.

Make no mistake, Worcestershire payed all the cricket here and deserved the victory but really the conditions as much as Dawson's and Brown's batting has just beaten them.

  6. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8d & 112-7 v Northants 722-6d

Yuzi Chahal beats Matt Quinn with a perfectly flighted leg-break but the Kent tail-ender pushes a single to end the over and keep the strike. Kent still 43 behind.

  7. 'Bears secured the draw pretty comfortably'published at 17:05 British Summer Time 2 July

    Result: Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415 & 260-4

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

Warwickshire have done a tidy job today.

Sussex made most of the running throughout that draw but in the end they couldn't bring any pressure to bear on Warwickshire and the Bears have secured the draw pretty comfortably.

  8. Postpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8d & 110-7 v Northants 722-6d

The umpires have signalled the start of the final hour.

There are six fielders and the keeper surrounding Joey Evison, who pushes a single off Yuzi Chahal and moves to 20 not out.

  9. SURREY DREW WITH DURHAMpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 2 July
    Breaking

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 362 & 262-0

Congratulations to Durham captain Alex Lees, who turned the final delivery from Sam Curran for a single to post his second hundred of the match.

Emilio Gay finishes unbeaten on 156 - his highest score as a Durham player - and the pair have compiled a record opening-wicket partnership against Surrey on this ground in the process.

  10. HAMPSHIRE DRAW WITH WORCESTERSHIREpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 221 & 294-4 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

Adam Hose smashed a career-best 266 from 253 balls and Jake Libby carried his bat for a career-best 228* in the Pears' 679-7d - their highest ever total away from New Road.

Hopes were high when they dismissed the visitors for 221 on the third afternoon and had Hampshire three-down overnight, but after being dropped on nought last night, Ben Brown put his team on his back today with an unbeaten 109, supported by Tilak Varma and Liam Dawson (60*) as they staved off the threat of defeat by losing just one wicket on the final day.

Fittingly Libby bowled the final over, having spent every minute of the match on the field.

One positive for his side is that they have closed the gap at the foot of the table with a 16-point return.

  11. 'A good game of cricket'published at 16:59 British Summer Time 2 July

    Result: Somerset 379 & 238-4 v Nottinghamshire 509

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Tom Kohler-Cadmore finished on 147 not out, his highest first-class score for Somerset from 196 deliveries.

He is as much as anyone responsible for Somerset being able to bat through the day today to the safe haven of a draw.

Notts' challenge at the Championship table is sustained and Somerset's outside chance at fourth in the table is likewise still very much on

A good game of cricket, maybe spoiled a little bit by a combination of ball and pitch but honours even just about at the end.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 2 July

    Agar c McManus b Chahal 0 (Kent 566-8d & 104-7 v Northants 722-6d)

Fielders all round the bat as Wes Agar attempts to hammer Yuzvendra Chahal to who knows where, and edges to Lewis McManus, who also whips off the bails just in case to send him on his way back to the dressing room.

Kent still 52 behind. Can Northants do it?

  13. Postpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 221 & 293-4 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

Ben Brown and Liam Dawson have brought up the 150 partnership from 309 balls.

There are 17 overs remaining in the day, with Hampshire 165 runs behind, but we might just see the next one.

Ben Brown has 108* with Liam Dawson 60* as they take on some fluids to combat cramp.

  14. SUSSEX DRAW WITH WARWICKSHIREpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 2 July

    Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415 & 260-4

Sam Hain and Ed Barnard have guided their side to a lead of 142, with 15 overs remaining, and that'll be that.

150-apiece from Daniel Hughes and James Coles were the highlight for the home side in their 533, in reply to Warwickshire's 415.

Corey Rocchiccioli claimed his second straight sixfer for the visitors, who take five bonus points from the game, one fewer than Sussex, who extend their slender lead over Bears in the Division One table.

  15. SOMERSET DREW WITH NOTTINGHAMSHIREpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 379 & 238-4 dec v Nottinghamshire 509

It wasn't totally plain sailing but Somerset bat through the final day at Taunton to secure a draw with Nottinghamshire.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore finishes on 147 not out - a fine 196-ball innings including six sixes and 11 fours.

Notts had a glimmer of hope when Somerset were 28-3 and 124-4 but only Liam Patterson-White possessed the penetration needed, taking 4-104 from 33 overs.

Kohler-Cadmore and Tom Abell (24*) shared an unbroken stand of 114 before the declaration which brought the match to an end.

  16. Postpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 2 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 362 & 244-0

Absolutely no urgency to retrieve the ball as Alex Lees cover drives newly-discovered spinner Sam Curran - yes, that's what he's been bowling since tea - for four to advance to 84 not out.

We've got 10 minutes left in this game, which might yet be enough for the Durham captain to complete his second hundred of the contest.

  17. 'Fantastic by Brown'published at 16:50 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 221 & 282-4 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

    Absolutely fantastic by Ben Brown.

I'm sure deep down he'll be a little bit disappointed with the performance of his team today.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 2 July

    Akhter lbw Kellaway 13 (Glamorgan 528 v Glos 380 & 225-7)

Ben Kellaway finds enough turn to win a leg-before decision against Zaman Akhter and claim a career-best sixth wicket of the innings. Gloucestershire are 77 ahead.

  19. 100 runs

for Ben Brownpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 221 & 282-4 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

"We fully believe we can put together a good day's cricket to get out of this game. I will come in the morning and give it everything I've got."

Ben Brown, after stumps last night...

He's just raised his bat for a century in five hours and 18 minutes after a leisurely dab to deep square off Kashif Ali for a couple.

15 fours in his 257-ball stay.

His 27th hundred of his career and second of the season for Hampshire.

  20. Postpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 379 & 237-4 v Notts 509

Looks like we are entering what some might call 'the last knockings'.

Jack Haynes bowls an unthreatening over and now Notts keeper Ishan Kishan has taken off the pads so he can turn his arm over.
