    Glamorgan 528 v Glos 380 & 126-3

Nothing doing so far for Glamorgan since lunch.

Graeme van Buuren runs James Harris down to third man for four and Gloucestershire are now only 18 behind.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 2 July

    Tickner c Hurst b Bailey 1 (Derbyshire 243-9 - target 513 to beat Lancs)

James Anderson sent down his sixth maiden over to bring Blair Tickner back onto strike.

He's been watching videos because he produces an expansive cover drive to Tom Bailey's first ball, though he doesn't actually make contact.

The next ball from Bailey straightens up and beats the Kiwi's outside edge but the third finds it.

    NINE DOWN.

Matty Hurst takes the catch behind the timbers and Tickner's 26-ball stay is over.

Jack Morley is last man in for unbeaten Derbyshire against winless Lancashire.

  3. 'Latham and Hain footwork is educating'published at 14:01 British Summer Time 2 July

    Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415 & 153-2

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

I would suggest that any young batters watch the footwork of Tom Latham and Sam Hain. When they are playing defensively, it's quite educating.

  4. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Canterburypublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec & 12-1 v Northants 722-6

This has been a very frustrating day at Canterbury, weather-wise.

Just when Northants were hoping to capitalise on the early wickets of Jaydn Denly, the rain returns.

Ekansh Singh is 10 not out and Ben Compton has yet to score.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 2 July

    Rew c Clarke b Patterson-White 43 (Somerset 379 & 124-4 v Notts 509)

    Four wickets for Liam Patterson-White.

James Rew tries to sweep, gets a top edge and that is an easy catch for Joe Clarke.

Another twist at Taunton, where Somerset are still six runs behind.

Rew put on 96 in 24 overs with Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

  6. Postpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 2 July

    Yorks 459 v Essex 368 & 68-6

Not the most convincing stroke from Michael Pepper, but it's enough to get him off the mark after 14 scoreless deliveries.

The ball, delivered by Jack White, finds the outside edge of Pepper's bat and flies beyond the slip cordon to the boundary.

All valuable runs for Essex as they creep towards that first target of 91, which would ensure Yorkshire have to bat again.

  7. Postpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 379 & 118-3 v Notts 509

A few words between Mohammad Abbas and Tom Kohler-Cadmore at the end of a lively over which began with the Somerset batter punching the first delivery square for four.

Abbas responded with two bouncers, one of which almost flicked the glove, and TKC tried to come down the track to the final one but only managed to smother the ball.

  8. new ball

New ballpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 2 July

Derbyshire 243-8 - target 513 to beat Lancs

    80 overs are up.

    The new ball is available.

Who would you want to give it to?

    Jimmy Anderson has chosen himself.

Wayne Madsen is on strike, 87 not out, with Blair Tickner at the opposite crease with that one streaky single from 22 balls.

  9. 50 runs

for Tom Lathampublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 2 July

    Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415 & 143-2

Tom Latham clips a full toss from Jack Carson into the leg side to pick up a single and bring up his half-century from 105 balls with five fours.

That's his fifth score of 50 or more in nine innings.

He and Sam Hain have nudges and nurdled their side 25 ahead.

  10. Postpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 2 July

Derbyshire 242-8 - target 513 to beat Lancs

Blair Tickner negotiates 10 balls without scoring and then flashes a drive off George Balderson which catches a thick edge but flies uppishly between the slips and point allowing him to get off strike with a single.

Hands on head from the fielders, and more frustration when Wayne Madsen drives to the boundary from the next ball too. He has 86*.

  11. 'Of course it's possible'published at 13:44 British Summer Time 2 July

    Yorks 459 v Essex 368 & 62-6

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

Jordan Cox and Michael Pepper are really the two representatives that can save the game.

Of course it's possible. The ball is only going to get older, the bowlers are only going to get more tired, maybe the dampness around the boundary and outfield might help the ball get a little softer.

  12. Postpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 2 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 362 & 31-0

The afternoon session is under way and Jordan Clark has been handed his first over of this Durham second innings.

It's a good start from Clark, who beats the outside edge of Emilio Gay a couple of times - but then overpitches and the opener drives him to the point boundary.

  13. Postpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 2 July

    Somerset 379 & 112-3 v Notts 509

If Notts are going to force a win in this game, they need a couple of wickets very soon - especially one to break this partnership between Tom Kohler-Cadmore and James Rew.

Somerset start the penultimate session of the game just 18 runs behind.

Mohammad Abbas will resume the attack for the Division One leaders. His first ball raps TKC on the pad - that wasn't far away.

  14. Play resumes at Southamptonpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 2 July

    Hampshire 221 & 156-4 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

Six wickets to win in two sessions for Worcestershire.

Ben Brown and Liam Dawson will bat with their backs against the wall.

Adam Finch takes the first over of the afternoon, with a dozen left before a new ball becomes available.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 2 July

    Denly b Guthrie 2 (Kent 566-8 dec & 2-1 v Northants 722-6 dec)

    Would you believe it!

On one of the flattest pitches we have seen this season, Liam Guthrie produces a beauty which flattens Jaydn Denly's off stump.

Kent 154 behind as youngster Ekansh Singh comes to the crease.

  16. Back under way at Chesterfieldpublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 2 July

Derbyshire 231-8 - target 513 to beat Lancs

    Here we go them...

Lancashire need two wickets for their first win of the campaign.

George Balderson has been excellent in his 4-45 and will complete the final two balls of his over, with new man Blair Tickner on strike.

Wayne Madsen has 78* at the other end.

  17. Play resumes at Yorkpublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 2 July

    Yorks 459 v Essex 368 & 58-6

The good news - from a Yorkshire viewpoint, anyway - is that the latest rain shower proved to be brief and the afternoon session is now under way.

That means Ben Coad gets to complete the over he began more than an hour ago, conceding 10 runs as Jordan Cox slices two boundaries over the slips to advance to 33.

  18. Postpublished at 13:34 British Summer Time 2 July

    Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415 & 129-2

The sun is out at Hove and spin-tandem James Coles and Jack Carson are finding a bit of spin off the pitch.

Tom Latham has moved into the 40s and Sam Hain has 6* as they have taken the Bears advantage into double figures, but they will need to keep their wits about them.

  19. Du Plooy hopes for Middlesex 'winning streak'published at 13:32 British Summer Time 2 July

Middlesex beat Leicestershire by ban innings and 127 runs

Acting captain Leus du Plooy was proud of his Middlesex team after they inflicted an innings defeat on Division Two leaders Leicestershire at Grace Road on Tuesday.

Standing in for ailing Toby Roland-Jones, du Plooy said: “We’ve not played fantastically well in maybe the last three games but as cricketers we have to understand that the season is played over 14 games and to see what we’ve been able to do in this game is fantastic.

"You should never think you are out of it. As we saw with Yorkshire last year, you go on a winning streak and you are right there in the mix.”

Young pacemen Naavya Sharma and Noah Cornwell shared a combined 10 wickets in the game and du Plooy added: “I think actually Grace Road is one of the few grounds or wickets in the country that produces, in my opinion at least, a very good Kookaburra game. So compliments to the groundstaff for that."

  20. Northants declarepublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 2 July

    Kent 566-8 dec v Northants 722-6 dec

The rain has cleared in Canterbury and play will resume at 13:35 BST.

Northants have declared with Saif Zaib on 196 not out - he added 298 with Justin Broad, who finishes on 157.

The total is the fourth highest in the club's history and their partnership is a club record for the seventh wicket - beating 293 by two Davids, Sales and Ripley, against Essex in 1999.

The visitors lead by 156. Will Kent stroll to a draw on a flat pitch, or could there be some final-afternoon 'fun' at the Spitfire Ground?
