It's only the second time that Haseeb Hameed has reached 150. The previous time was when they called it the hottest day ever when the temperature was around 40C at Derby a couple of years ago.

  3. Hameed gets to 150published at 11:39 British Summer Time 12 May

    Notts 318-7 v Lancashire 331

Haseeb Hameed is playing a captain's knock for Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

In the process, he's almost doubled his tally of Championship runs for the season.

Lancashire are still waiting for their first breakthrough on the first morning and have brought paceman Saqib Mahmood into the attack.

  4. Bedingham reaches 50published at 11:38 British Summer Time 12 May

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 167-3

David Bedingham has been in decent form at the start of this County Championship campaign and Durham's South Africa batter has made it to a half-century against Hampshire.

He reaches his latest milestone off 100 balls by whipping Liam Dawson away for a single to the leg side.

Bedingham is also closing in on 400 Championship runs for the season in this, his seventh innings.

  5. wicket

WICKET: Denly lbw b Waite 0published at 11:38 British Summer Time 12 May

    Kent 135-4 v Worcestershire 618-7d

Joe Denly is pinned in front by for a five-ball duck.

Worcestershire have got the quick wickets they wanted in the opening 40 minutes of the day.

His side had to wait 35 overs to break that partnership but Matthew Waite has two in five deliveries.

Harry Finch is the new batter, joining Jack Leaning.

  6. Postpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 356-8 v Warwickshire 343

Surrey have their third batting bonus point and would love another. Warwickshire will have their sights on maximum bowling points with one more pole.

This burst of five wickets for the addition of just 41 runs has changed the complexion of this match, however Jamie Smith and Sean Abbott are entirely capable of swinging the momentum once again.

  7. wicket

    WICKET: Bell-Drummond b Waite 67published at 11:29 British Summer Time 12 May

    Kent 131-3 v Worcestershire 618-7d

BIG wicket, this. The Kent skipper goes, playing inside the line to Matthew Waite and seeing his off stump clattered.

That ends the 116-run stand for the third wicket with Jack Leaning and brings Joe Denly to the crease.

The hosts are still 487 runs in arrears and desperately need another big partnership.

BBC Hereford & Worcester's Frank Watson: "Good perseverance from Matthew Waite, Worcestershire get the breakthrough and it's been a long time coming. They've had to work really hard for it. A very unexpected wicket but that's exactly the sort of patience have got to show."

  8. Half-century for Bancroftpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 12 May

    Northants 171 v Glos 409 & 101-1

In Division Two, Gloucestershire have lost their first wicket in their second innings - Ben Charlesworth has fallen one run short of a half-century, ending his 98-run opening stand with Cameron Bancroft.

The Australian has just made it to 50 though, as the visitors look to increase their lead over Northants, which now stands at 339 runs.

  9. wicket

    WICKET: Clark b Hannon-Dalby 11published at 11:27 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 349-8 v Warwickshire 343

Another one goes... Jordan Clark is feeling in the mood after a couple of tasty boundaries but his attempt to carve to point only succeeds in chopping onto his own stumps.

Warwickshire have their tails up. Sean Abbott is in at 10. My word. 10.

Jamie Smith batting for SurreyImage source, Rex Features

Jamie Smith is a really wonderful player, a really pretty player, easy on the eye.

Some of his drives yesterday - through the covers and straight down the ground were an absolute joy to watch.

I think he is future England material.

    Well batted Jamie Smith.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Jack Leaningpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 12 May

    Kent 131-2 v Worcestershire 618-7d

His first of the season. This will do him the power of good. It's come from 108 balls with four fours.

  12. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 344-7 v Warwickshire 343

Jamie Smith had barely put his helmet back on after celebrating his century than Jordan Clark had punched the next ball from Aamir Jamal back down the ground for four to take Surrey into the lead.

Not a bad number nine to be able to call on, eh?

Worth mentioning that Smith had to endure 10 overs in the 90s, all against the second new ball, and twice saw glances to the rope given as byes rather than runs while stuck on 99.

  13. 100 runs

100 for Jamie Smithpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 340-7 v Warwickshire 343

Jamie Smith is an absolute sportscar of a player, capable of going through the gears with ease whenever it's required. The highlights of this knock are well worth seeking out.

This is the 23-year-old's ninth first-class century and has come from just 125 balls, with two of them clearing the ropes and another 14 struck for four.

Smith is the main reason why Surrey are closing in on a third batting bonus point and are just three behind Warwickshire's total.

  14. Postpublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 334-7 v Warwickshire 343

Oliver Hannon-Dalby, much like Aamir Jamal so far this morning, is bang on the money.

They have got a bit of movement and some good bounce out of this track, which has firmed up in the sun the past two days. It's not been comfortable at all for Jamie Smith and Jordan Clark so far.

Surrey would have been thinking about building a three-figure first-innings lead as a minimum late in the evening session on Saturday. Now it's the visitors who will be hoping they can get off the field at something around parity - which could be crucial with Craig Miles not available.

  15. 300 up for Nottspublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 12 May

    Notts 300-7 v Lancashire 331

Olly Stone is going on the attack this morning.

He crunches George Balderson through the covers to the boundary to move on to 18 not out and bring up Nottinghamshire's 300 - which also means they'll receive a second batting bonus point.

Haseeb Hameed batting for NottinghamshireImage source, Rex Features

This game is in the balance after two fairly even days.

The star of the show so far has been Haseeb Hameed, who is still at the crease on 142.

  17. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 12 May

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 152-3

Matthew Potts came in as the nightwatcher for Durham following Alex Lees' dismissal late on day two against Hampshire.

A few weeks ago, the England bowler fulfilled the same role as Durham battled to save the game against Warwickshire at Edgbaston and he went on to score a career-best 149 not out.

Durham will take something similar today, I'm sure, with their deficit currently 351 runs.

  18. wicket

WICKET: Steel c Burgess b Jamal 4published at 11:10 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 332-7 v Warwickshire 343

Flash of an attempted cover drive from Cam Steel but he can only edge behind to keeper Michael Burgess.

Not in Surreys script, this. That's 4-24 with the second new ball for the visitors and the hosts are still 11 in arrears with only three wickets in hand.

Jordan Clark is the new man in, joining Jamie Smith who is on 99*.

  19. Postpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 12 May

    Notts 291-7 v Lancashire 331

Haseeb Hameed plays out a maiden over from George Balderson and he remains unbeaten on 141.

The home side have added 12 runs in the first three overs of the morning, with fellow England Test cap Olly Stone alongside his captain in the middle.

  20. Can Worcestershire take 18 wickets on this pitch?published at 11:08 British Summer Time 12 May

    Kent 118-2 v Worcestershire 618-7 dec

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

What are Worcestershire's chances of taking 18 wickets on this pitch in the next two days?

I would say not great, the pitch is favourite in my book but you never know do you?!

I was talking to Matthew Waite about it last night and he said basically, it sounds obvious, but it's about bowling at the stumps.
