  1. 'A comprehensive victory from Glamorgan'published at 18:10 British Summer Time 12 May

Result: Glamorgan beat Sussex by nine wickets

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

It's been a comprehensive victory over the Division Two leaders, a tremendous performance from the Welsh side.

Applause from the pavilion and a small crowd left, but they've certainly enjoyed these closing stages of the game after the storm.

As you might have expected, Glamorgan raced to victory in just 7.5 overs, so they weren't hanging around and they weren't taking any chances about the bad weather returning.

Sussex were not able to repeat the performances of the last couple of weeks.

  2. wicket

    Kent 347-7 v Worcestershire 618-7d

    Worcestershire have broken the partnership.

Beyers Swanepoel helped Jack Leaning add 97 for the seventh wicket but he tries a reverse sweep of leggy Brett D'Oliveira and misses the ball, which carries on into his pads.

    Wes Agar joins Jack Leaning.

  3. wicket

WICKET: Balderson c Young b Paterson 4published at 18:06 British Summer Time 12 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 61-6

Lancashire's collapse continues. A routine catch for Will Young at slip and the visitors are six wickets down, still trailing by 111 runs.

We could be in "extra half-hour" territory soon, if Notts can grab an extra couple of quick scalps.

BBC Radio Lancashire's Scott Read on commentary describes it as a "dream day" for Nottinghamshire and it's hard to disagree.

This is a very special spell. Kemar Roach hates seeing stumps in the ground. He's allergic to it.

The amount of reverse swing is frightening. Aamir Jamal tries to drive but the ball swings through the gate and Roach has 6-46.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby lopes out to join Michael Burgess, which strongly suggests there is no chance of the injured Craig Miles batting.

In which case, you wonder if Surrey might even get the chance to try to wrap this up tonight.

  5. GLAMORGAN BEAT SUSSEX BY NINE WICKETSpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 12 May
    Breaking

    Glamorgan 411 & 58-1 v Sussex 278 & 188

The last time Glamorgan tasted victory was 364 days ago. It was 14 May 2023 when they beat Worcestershire by 10 wickets inside three days at Sophia Gardens.

They had gone 13 County Championship matches without a win since then - 12 of them draws.

The run is over, Billy Root cracked eight fours in an unbeaten 36 and skipper Sam Northeast was there to see his side home, with Eddie Byrom the only wicket to fall.

That's a 23-point haul for the hosts which catapults them right into the Division Two promotion race. It's a blow for leaders Sussex, who take just four points from the game.

  6. Close of play at Utilita Bowlpublished at 18:01 British Summer Time 12 May

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 410-8

This one looks set to end in a draw, thanks to Durham's batting effort on day three.

In the end, they have easily made it past the follow-on target of 354, with David Bedingham's 144 leading the way for the visitors.

An honourable mention also for Liam Dawson, who has bowled 62 overs in total in Durham's first innings for figures of 5-171.

  7. Five-wicket haul for Kemar Roachpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 464 v Warwickshire 343 & 200-7

After a stoic 34, Sam Hain is the latest to be bowled by Kemar Roach, who is pretty much unplayable at this point.

This one belongs in a gallery. The reverse swing has made a fool of one of the most composed batters around and his off-stump is smashed.

Big celebrations from Roach. Warwickshire are 79 ahead with three wickets remaining.

  8. wicket

WICKET: Bruce c Clarke b James 15published at 17:59 British Summer Time 12 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 61-5

    But they've lost another wicket!

Tom Bruce edges a rising Lyndon James delivery behind to Joe Clarke and Notts are closing in on a very impressive victory.

  9. 'Lancashire have really got to bat well tomorrow'published at 17:58 British Summer Time 12 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 57-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham

Lancashire will need a good day tomorrow, it's fair to say.

They wouldn't mind an inclement day weather-wise, which I don't think is going to happen.

The weather is actually set fair but I don't think Lancashire will be disappointed if there is a change in those conditions when they open the curtains tomorrow morning.

If they don't get any help from the weather then they've really got to bat well and see if they can turn this around somehow.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Beyers Swanepoelpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 12 May

    Kent 342-6 v Worcestershire 618-7d

A half-century for Kent debutant Beyers Swanepoel in his first innings in England.

A huge contribution with eight fours in his 67-ball stint in support of Jack Leaning who remains there on 143*.

They have taken a big chunk of time out of this game and frustrated the weary Worcestershire bowlers.

  11. Postpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 12 May

    Northants 137-2 v Glos - target 558

Also in Division Two, a big breakthrough for Gloucestershire before the close on day three as Marchant de Lange gets rid of Emilio Gay for 74.

The Northants opener steers one to Tom Price on the leg side.

George Scrimshaw is in as nightwatcher with under five overs of the day's play remaining.

  12. wicket

WICKET: Byrom c Simpson b Karvelas 21published at 17:48 British Summer Time 12 May

    Glamorgan 33-1 v Sussex - target 56

21 from 11 balls but now Eddie Byrom has been caught behind by John Simpson off Ari Karvelas.

Glamorgan need 23 runs. Surely no more twists in this engrossing match?

  13. 'This game is on a bit of a knife edge'published at 17:45 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 464 v Warwickshire 343 & 183-6

    Melinda Farrell
    Sports broadcaster/journalist

This game is on a bit of a knife-edge after that Jacob Bethell wicket in particular.

It was a terrific ball by Kemar Roach with that experience, but not so much experience from Jacob Bethell to know to be very wary of the ball that comes back in as it did.

  14. Postpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 12 May

    Glamorgan 31-0 v Sussex - target 56

Glamorgan are in no mood to take their time.

Even though the forecast is set fair, Eddie Byrom and Billy Root want this done, and quickly.

31 runs have come from the first 19 deliveries.

  15. 'Lancashire's dressing room probably not a happy place'published at 17:41 British Summer Time 12 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 53-4

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

It's now turned from a beautiful afternoon into a lovely evening...

Unless you're in the Lancashire dressing room, which is probably not a particularly happy place at the minute.

  16. wicket

WICKET: Bethell b Roach 4published at 17:39 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 464 v Warwickshire 343 & 183-6

Six down. Kemar Roach angles one in to the left-hander and blasts out off stump with Jacob Bethell shouldering arms. He has 4-40.

This is effectively 62-6. Michael Burgess is the new man.

There are 17 overs and change remaining. Can Surrey tighten their grip even further?

  17. 400 up for Durhampublished at 17:35 British Summer Time 12 May

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 400-8

Another milestone ticked off by the visitors as Ben Raine sweeps Liam Dawson to the leg-side boundary to bring up Durham's 400.

Dawson is in his 62nd over of the innings. Someone run that man an ice bath.

  18. Glamorgan begin chase of 56 to beat Sussexpublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 12 May

    Glamorgan 0-0 v Sussex - target 56

Glamorgan have drawn 12 of their past 13 games in the County Championship.

Day four looks set to be a washout. The downpour this afternoon had the home players staring longingly out of the window, but they have earned their shot at victory.

There are 25 overs on the slate and Eddie Byrom and Billy Root go out to begin the chase for 56 runs to beat Division Two leaders Sussex.

  19. Postpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 12 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 41-4

Almost a fifth wicket for Notts and it would have been a spectacular one, but Dane Paterson's diving attempt to catch George Balderson off his own bowling is spilled to the turf.

Still 16 overs to be bowled today at Trent Bridge.

  20. 'Exceptional to take a catch of that standard'published at 17:27 British Summer Time 12 May

    Surrey 464 v Warwickshire 343 & 170-5

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM

An unbelievable return catch from Sean Abbott and Ed Barnard can't quite believe his fortune.

He has hit that really well and quite low but it stayed off the ground and Abbott scooped it off his toes.

That is not easy at this stage on day three when you are feeling a little bit stiff, but it's a brilliant catch by Abbott. A crucial wicket.

It's truly exceptional work to take a catch of that standard and real frustration for Barnard, who has batted so well in this match.
