  1. Durham avoid follow-onpublished at 16:43 12 May

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 354-6

The first target has been achieved by Durham, as they get to 354 to avoid the follow-on against Hampshire.

Now it's all about how close they can get to Hampshire's first-innings score of 503.

20 overs remain in the day, although they're a bit ahead of schedule as Hampshire's spinners have been bowling for much of the day, so we may even get a bit extra play than we bargained for.

  2. Postpublished at 16:38 12 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 16-0

Lancashire have got through the first four overs of their second innings without losing a wicket. It's been a pretty solid start by Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings.

  3. Postpublished at 16:37 12 May

    Kent 260-6 v Worcestershire 618-7d

South African all-rounder Beyers Swanepoel gets off the mark in England with a neat clip through midwicket off Kiwi import Nathan Smith for four.

    The world's game.

Still 10 overs for Kent to think about 40 more runs for a bonus point or Worcestershire to think about a third bowling bonus too.

The storm appears to have passed and the covers are coming off. Encouraging signs for Glamorgan who are closing in on victory.

  5. Pitch inspection at Cardiffpublished at 16:31 12 May

    Glamorgan 411 v Sussex 278 & 186-8

... at 16:40 BST. Sun is out and the storm has blown through. Glamorgan will be hopeful of good news and a resumption soon after.

  6. Postpublished at 16:29 12 May

    Kent 250-6 v Worcestershire 618-7d

Brief break in play as it's emerged that Beyers Swanepoel does not have the required neck guard on - once he's up to speed we're good to continue.

  7. WICKET: Evison c Roderick b Smith 27published at 16:25 12 May

    Kent 250-6 v Worcestershire 618-7d

A bad start after tea for Kent as Joey Evison departs right at the start of the evening session, taking a big swing and nicking behind off Nathan Smith, offering Gareth Roderick a simple low chance.

Debutant Beyers Swanepoel is the new man. His first dig for Kent. No pressure.

  8. 'Bears need every run, every over'published at 16:20 12 May

    Surrey 464 v Warwickshire 343 & 141-4 (tea)

    Dan Whiting

The Bears needing every run, every over used up, every minute used up in this game.

We're going to be on for a late one tonight.

  9. Postpublished at 16:19 12 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 & 0-0

Here come Lancashire's openers Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells, preparing to start the visitors' second innings.

There are 31 overs left to be bowled on day three, with Lancashire trailing by 172.

Olly Stone, fresh from a career-best 90 with the bat earlier today, will take the new ball.

  10. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 16:18 12 May

    Surrey 464 v Warwickshire 343 & 141-4

Warwickshire have recovered well from that early flurry of wickets and have inched into a 20-run lead at the interval thanks to this unbroken 50-run stand between Sam Hain (18*) and Ed Barnard (31*).

The order of the day, well, the 32 overs which remain of it, will be to stick together and take that lead into three figures.

  11. Postpublished at 16:16 12 May

    Hampshire 503 v Durham 340-6

They've been back out for a good 15 minutes at Utilita Bowl, where David Bedingham and Brydon Carse are slowly edging Durham closer to the magic number of 354 that will ensure Hampshire must bat next.

Liam Dawson has bowled 51 overs for the hosts in Durham's first innings, with figures of 4-141.

It was good to see the Lancashire players rushing across congratulating Haseeb Hameed, shaking hands. Of course many of them will have known him for a good long time.

The Trent Bridge members, supporters and spectators and those that have come down from the north west, again many who will have seen Haseeb Hameed play for many, many years up at Old Trafford as well, all rising.

He was at the crease for 10 hours and 21 minutes. A simply incredible effort, a monumental knock.

  13. Postpublished at 16:08 12 May

    Surrey 464 v Warwickshire 343 & 136-4

So close to another wicket as Dan Worrall gets one to swing away from Sam Hain who can only flash an edge which flies a hard or so to he right of the leaping Ollie Pope at second slip and all the way to the rope.

Hain moves to 18, Ed Barnard is on 26, their partnership is 46.

  15. The stats from Hameed's 247 not outpublished at 16:03 12 May

    Notts 503 v Lancashire 331 (tea)

    • 247 runs
    • 459 balls
    • 621 minutes
    • 25 fours

A simply outstanding knock from the Nottinghamshire captain.

  16. Tea at Canterburypublished at 16:02 12 May

    Kent 250-5 v Worcestershire 618-7d

Kent's session. Maybe their first of the eight played so far.

Jack Leaning's century was the foundation but he'll be hoping Joey Evison can stick with him like only Daniel Bell-Drummond has during his near six-and-a-half hour vigil.

Matthew Waite has 3-40 for the visitors and they have 13 overs in which to try to claim a second, or even third, bowling bonus point.

Kent remain 368 runs adrift of Worcestershire's mammoth total, 218 shy of the follow-on target.

  17. Tea at Trent Bridge - Notts all outpublished at 16:00 12 May

Dane Paterson is bowled by Luke Wells and Notts are all out for 503.

This innings has been all about Haseeb Hameed, though, who has carried his bat for a superb 247 not out.

  19. 250 up for Kentpublished at 15:58 12 May

    Kent 250-5 v Worcestershire 618-7d

A genuine edge off Ben Gibbon from Joey Evison flies between the keeper and slip and races all the way to the rope to bring up Kent's first batting bonus point two balls before tea.

  20. 500 up for Nottspublished at 15:56 12 May

    Notts 500-9 v Lancashire 331

Resuming 52 runs behind Lancashire's 331 with three wickets left, Notts would surely have happily taken a first-innings lead.

So to have posted 500 and be 169 runs ahead must be beyond anything the home side could have expected.

Haseeb Hameed has a career-best 245 not out.

There are 32 overs left in the day's play, which usually would signal the tea interval. However, with only one Notts wicket remaining, they'll be playing on for a little while yet.
