    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

That is a first five-wicket haul for Matt Fisher at Surrey.

He will finish with 5-61 and it means Nottinghamshire are all out for 231 in the 78th over.

What a time for Fisher to do it as well and a good performance from Surrey with the ball.

    A fifth first-class five-for for Fisher.

Tom Lawes returns for only his eighth over the day.

Somehow he goes past Brett Hutton's edge and also his off stump - coat of varnish anyone?

Notts are 47 runs from a first batting point.

Remember, one point separated these two at the top of the table at the start of this match.

    Surrey v Notts 193-8

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Every run today has had to be earned today, there's been precious little in the way of solid partnerships.

The best put on by the two left-handers Ben Slater and Freddie McCann and since then Surrey have just chipped away and chipped away and whenever a stand's gone anywhere near 20 or 25 or so they've managed to pick up a wicket and Notts have had to start afresh each time.

    Somerset v Hants

It is going home time at the County Ground as play has been abandoned for the day without a ball bowled.

While there was rain around early, high winds as much as anything has brought an end to proceedings.

So, in keeping with virtually everywhere else, it is fingers crossed for better luck tomorrow.

  18. Postpublished at 16:36 BST 15 September

    Surrey v Notts 189-8

Just the one run from that Matt Fisher over during which Brett Hutton had one almighty heave-ho without making contact.

You do wonder if Notts might be better served trying to put bat to ball because the ball is seaming and swinging and one is going to have your name on it.

  19. Day one abandoned at Edgbastonpublished at 16:33 BST 15 September

    Warwickshire v Essex

The groundstaff, players and officials have finally bowed to the inevitable and abandoned day one without a ball being bowled.

    Back tomorrow for another try.
