    "We've got a new pair up front so we want to see how that goes, they are two guys who can dominate the powerplay. Then we've got some young players in the middle, we are at the stage where we are trying to find out best XI which is exciting.

    "The World Test Championship was exceptional, we felt all the emotions and joy of our people and we brought some pride to South African cricket. Hopefully we can keep the smiles on their faces."

    Another day, another format!

    Cricket never sleeps and less than 48 hours since the curtain came down on The Hundred for another year, we're back for the start of ODI series between England and South Africa.

    Headingley plays host to the first of three 50-over matches with a three-match T20 series to follow as England continue their white-ball development under Brendon McCullum and Harry Brook.

    South Africa will provide a real test. They arrive having just beaten Australia in a three-match ODI series down under.
