There were memories of Nathan Lyon there as Jofra Archer was trying to hit the stumps!

Jofra Archer held his nerve there. He could have easily panicked under the pressure and threw at the stumps but he read the situation very well.

Tristan Stubbs does not look happy at all.

'It was all a bit Nathan Lyon!' - Archer runs out Stubbs out after dropping ball

    Tristan Stubbs is furious.

A complete mix-up between him and Dewald Brevis sees both batters pretty much shoulder to shoulder at the striker's end, after Stubbs had committed to the single but his partner sent him back.

Archer drops the ball, Nathan Lyon-esque, but keeps his calm to run to the stumps and take the bails instead of going for the throw.

Brevis owes South Africa some runs after that...

Harry Brook has got to make a decision now whether to go back to one of his main bowlers, or stick with one of the part-timers.

    17 from the over.

I am struggling to see the value of Rehan Ahmed sitting on the bench for this series.

This is the 26th time a side has been 240-4 or better at the 40 over mark batting first in an ODI in England in the last 10 years. Only two of the previous 25 sides to do so have gone on to lose from this position.

  7. SA 253-4published at 40.3 overs

A luckier boundary this time is edged past the keeper, but is followed by three consecutive wides.

You bring Jacob Bethell on now to get through to the new player out there and hope they rein themselves in.

South Africa need to be brave and take him on.

Dewald Brevis is the new batter, one of the most exciting young players in the game.

He will face Jacob Bethell to begin his innings.

That was a smart ball from Jofra Archer. He rolled his wrists over the ball to get that slow, low full toss.

It beat Matthew Breetzke for pace, he was stood right on the middle stump.

'Absolutely plum' - Archer traps Breetzke lbw for 85

A daft review to conclude a brilliant innings.

Jofra Archer nails the slower ball, very full, and it dips at the last second to completely deceive Breetzke, who is trapped in front with ball tracking showing the ball to be hitting middle stump.

He departs for 85 from 77 balls in a partnership of 147 with Stubbs.

    But the batter reviews immediately...

What does Sam Curran need to do to get into this team? Been superb with the bat this season and surely he's a better option as fourth seamer to the bits and pieces spin we are offering up.

Tristan Stubbs joins Matthew Breetzke in reaching his half-century.

He's played second fiddle to Breetzke for most of this partnership but he's such a destructive player at the death and if England don't get rid of him soon, they're in real trouble.

South Africa are playing smart here. They took down Will Jacks in that last over but they are respecting Adil Rashid here because they know he has one over left.

Once he has done, they can really get stuck into the other bowlers.
