    Maybe you were right, Alan.

Jamie Smith, the sole positive from England's batting display on Tuesday, goes for a first-ball duck.

Left-arm seamer Nandre Burger's delivery takes an inside edge and flies through to Ryan Rickelton behind the stumps.

54 runs at Headingley, zip today for Jamie Smith - and England in trouble already.

The team's are walking out to the middle, with the South Africa side ahead of England openers Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett.

How will England get on here?

Anyway, Ffion definitely got the lion's share of the runs in her stint.

120 runs from the first 25 overs of South Africa's innings, 210 from the last 25.

Will we see a repeat of that in England's outing?

It'd certainly save my dainty fingers...

    Hello there!

    Sandwiches: passable.

    Scone: excellent.

Cheese ending up in jam because of single plate: unfortunate.

    I needed Alan Partridge's 12-inch plate.

It goes without saying that England's batters need to put in a much-improved performance after their 131 all out at Headingley just two days ago.

To take you through the chase, here's Mike Peter - who has just enjoyed a Lord's tea that I described as underwhelming based on the photo evidence, but I'll let him give his verdict.

That platform gave youngster Dewald Brevis the opportunity to enjoy himself, and he got the memo.

He whacked three fours and three sixes in his 42 from 20 balls, before Jacob Bethell eventually got his revenge.

His knock showed it is still a good pitch, though, so England should take confidence from that and hope that Brevis left a few out there.

Matthew Breetzke and Tristan Stubbs then held things together in the middle order with a fourth-wicket stand of 147.

They were patient when required but were also smart in terms of targeting the right bowlers at the right time.

Jacob Bethell and Will Jacks, who made up England's fifth bowler between them, conceded 1-112 from a combined 10 overs.

Pretty much the perfectly-paced ODI innings from South Africa.

The in-form Aiden Markram got things going at the top of the order with 49, before he was caught and bowled by Adil Rashid.

    England's leg-spinner was outstanding throughout, with 2-33.

Keshav Maharaj will be a little bit disappointed with that.

England's bowlers could have been a little bit braver to bowl fuller and try to get more wickets like that earlier on.

    Cleaned up!

Jofra Archer with a cracking final over and finishes with four wickets, but that is still a very competitive score from the hosts.

England will need 331 to win.

    Job done for Keshav Maharaj.

He gets the single first ball and Corbin Bosch is back on strike.

Very full from Jofra Archer and he just pinned Senuran Muthusamy. Archer knew it was out straight away.

    Great start.

Full, straight and right on the toes of Senuran Muthusamy. He doesn't even consider the review.

    Another honking review.

    Going miles over the stumps.

Anyway, Jofra Archer will bowl the final over.

    Ouch.

Corbin Bosch is struck in a very sensitive part of his anatomy, and England have reviewed...

  20. SA 326-6published at 48.5 overs

    What a strange shot!

Saqib Mahmood starts so well with just three runs from the first four balls but Corbin Bosch reverse-scoops the fifth via a top edge for four.
