  1. wicket

WICKET: Carlson b Coad 41published at 16:32 British Summer Time 19 September

    Glam 239 & 84-3 v Yorks 361 & 273

Could be a crucial breakthrough for Yorkshire.

That has straightened slightly and nipped through slightly disorganised defences from Kiran Carlson.

It brings to an end a solid 64-run partnership between Carlson and Asa Tribe and gives Yorkshire a sight of the middle order.

  2. Postpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 19 September

    Somerset 146-4 - target 393

Time for Anderson Phillip to take a rest.

The experienced Tom Bailey takes over.

You'd think that this partnership between Tom Kohler-C - who has yet to make a 50 in this summer's Championship - and James Rew is absolutely crucial to Somerset's chances of victory now.

  3. 'Tight and tense'published at 16:30 British Summer Time 19 September

    Hampshire 462 & 204 v Worcs 273 & 60-2 - Worcs require 334

    Tight, tense county cricket this.

  4. wicket

WICKET Vaughan c Bell b Balderson 68published at 16:25 British Summer Time 19 September

    Somerset 146-4 - target 393

Excellent ball from George Balderson which leaves the bat late and George Bell takes a good low catch at first slip.

Archie Vaughan has done himself proud in that innings, though, registering his first County Championship fifty, facing 121 balls and hitting 11 fours.

His dismissal makes the gradient of Somerset's climb towards the victory summit that much steeper.

  5. Postpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 19 September

    Somerset 146-3 - target 393

Tom Kohler-Cadmore does love an uppercut.

He tries the shot again and picks up a second boundary off Anderson Phillip.

The next ball is a much better line, forcing TKC onto the back foot in defence.

  6. Postpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 19 September

In case you missed it earlier on, Surrey beat Durham by 10 wickets.

They will be champions if Somerset don't beat Lancashire.

If they do, there will be a 12-point gap between the top two ahead of next week's final round of games.

    Hampshire 462 & 204 v Worcs 273 & 50-2 - Worcs require 344

The Pears had just got to 50 runs by the way before Kashif Ali departed.

Jake Libby takes no chances as Kyle Abbott claims a maiden over.

It just looked like he (Ali) played down the wrong line, like he expected a little more turn.

He’s playing outside the line, it's good bowling and goes to show you don’t necessarily have to turn the ball to take wickets.

  9. wicket

WICKET Ali lbw Dawson 8published at 16:15 British Summer Time 19 September

    Hampshire 462 & 204 v Worcs 273 & 50-1 - Worcs require 344

Second wicket down for Hampshire and it's that man Liam Dawson who gets it, trapping Kashif Ali lbw.

That's Dawson's 49th wicket of the season by the way.

It came with the last ball of the 14th over.

Jake Libby (31 not out) is joined by Rob Jones.

  10. Postpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 19 September

    Northants 40-1 - target 137 v Leics

The Northants chase is well underway with captain Luke Procter and George Bartlett bringing the target down into double figures.

Bartlett was a little lucky with his first boundary, shuffling across his stumps to flick to fine leg, and runs a second off the outside edge to third man.

97 to win in 23 overs - plus eight in extra-time if the hosts are within range.

  11. Postpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 19 September

    Somerset 139-3 - target 393

BBC Somerset's Anthony Gibson points out that Anderson Phillip is bowling from the Anderson End.

The paceman sizzles one past the edge of Archie Vaughan's bat, but the youngster's demeanour suggests he doesn't let things like that bother him.

That statement is underlined by the way he steers Phillip through backward point for his 11th four.

  12. Postpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 19 September

    Somerset 131-3 - target 393

Good shot by TKC, who drives George Balderson through extra cover for four. Somerset are a third of the way to their target.

  13. Postpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 19 September

    Somerset 124-3 - target 393

TKC is not a batter renowned for reining himself in.

Anderson Phillip gives him too much width and he opens his account with an uppercut for four.

  14. Play resumes at Old Traffordpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 19 September

    Somerset 120-3 - target 393

Tom Kohler-Cadmore is the new Somerset batsman as the energetic Anderson Phillip races in to continue the over he began before tea by having Tom Abell lbw.

He tries for a yorker with the final delivery but TKC digs it out.

  15. Tea at Sophia Gardenspublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 19 September

    Glam 239 & 72-2 v Yorks 361 & 273

Not a great deal happening for either side in the latter part of that session but Yorkshire remain firmly on top here in Cardiff.

The wickets of Sam Northeast and Colin Ingram reduced the hosts to 20-2 and hinted at a run-through for the promotion-chasing side.

But Asa Tribe and Kiran Carlson have dug in since in a manner which will, if nothing else, elicit grudging respect from Yorkshire followers.

At 72-2 Glamorgan remain in the foothills with a mountain to climb, trailing by 323 runs but they are not going to throw this away lightly.

  16. wicket

WICKET: Miller b Wood 11published at 15:45 British Summer Time 19 September

    Northants 17-1 - target 137 v Leics

    Leicestershire get an early wicket.

Gus Miller drove Ian Holland smartly through cover before a low edge scuttled past second slip.

But he drives too keenly at Sam Wood and is bowled by one that nips back slightly.

  17. Coad double boosts Yorkshirepublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 19 September

    Glamorgan 239 & 72-2 v Yorkshire 361 & 273 - tea

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Ben Coad struck two early blows as Yorkshire maintain high hopes of maintaining their 15-point advantage over Middlesex going into the final round of the promotion race.

With Glamorgan set 396 to win, Coad quickly disposed of struggling captain Sam Northeast and in-form Colin Ingram to reach 50 wickets for the season, though Kiran Carlson led a 50 partnership with rookie Asa Tribe before tea.

Earlier James Harris passed 600 first-class wickets in his career with a five-wicket haul, landmark victim Jonny Bairstow looking unimpressed with one of a string of lbw verdicts.

A stand of 76 between Jonny Tattersall and Dom Bess pushed the target close to 400 despite Glamorgan’s bowlers managing to take 20 wickets at home for only the second time this season.

  18. 'Hampshire will have to be patient'published at 15:44 British Summer Time 19 September

    Tea: Hampshire 462 & 204 v Worcs 273 & 44-1 – Worcs require 350

    Kevan James
Former Middlesex & Hampshire cricketer on BBC Radio Solent

Hampshire are going to have to be patient, I’m sure they’re aware of that.

This pitch is still a pretty good one.

  19. Tea in Southamptonpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 19 September

    Hampshire 462 & 204 v Worcs 273 & 44-1 - Worcs require 350

Jake Libby (23*) and Kashif Ali (10*) see it through to tea fairly comfortably with the Pears losing one wicket in their second innings.

That was Gareth Roderick who was clean bowled by Kyle Abbott for seven.

The Pears were set 394 to win and they've got that down to 350 at the tea interval.

An interesting evening session awaits us.

Can he get a breakthrough for the hosts before the interval?
