    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 6-0

We've seen nothing but seam bowling in the opening day and a half of this match.

The continuing friendly conditions means we're unlikely to see anything else for the rest of the game.

    Gus Atkinson bowls a maiden.

  4. wicket

Edavalath run out 61 (Durham v Worcs 139-4)

Ooh dear. Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira is not going to feel good about that.

It was a good bit of fielding but. after sort of setting off for a single to point, the Worcs captain changes his mind and sends his young partner back.

It is too late and Alex Lees takes the throw and whips the bails off at the non-strikers end with the batter well short.

He was going so nicely at the time looking very composed but Durham now have a sight of the lower order.

  5. Postpublished at 14:01 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 6-0

Four leg byes gets Notts up and running in their second dig.

Haseeb Hameed then takes the first run off the bat with a little dab into the leg side.

Ben Slater then scampers a single off his first ball.

    Notts lead by 64 runs.

  6. 'Fine bit of bowling by Unadkat'published at 14:00 BST 16 September

    Sussex v Yorks 105-4

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

It was a fine bit of bowling by Jaydev Unadkat and Sussex are bowling themselves into a good position in this match.

  7. Postpublished at 13:58 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 0-0

Dan Worrall opens the bowling for Surrey and Haseeb Hameed lets the first one go through to Ben Foakes.

  8. 'Sundar would be handful on the right wicket'published at 13:57 BST 16 September

    Somerset 99-5 v Hants

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Washington Sundar can bowl a bit, can't he?! I think he might have a decent Test career ahead of him.

On the right sort of wicket he would be handful. It's just a shame he's only here for two games.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:57 BST 16 September

    Bairstow b Unadkat 2 (Sussex v Yorks 103-4)

Jonny Bairstow's lean spell continues. He scored eight and five in his final two innings in The Hundred and managed only two against Somerset on his return to the Championship last week.

He matches that score at Hove as Jaydev Unadkat angles one in from outside off stump and bowls him through the gate.

  10. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 13:57 BST 16 September

    Warwicks v Essex 107-2

A second one goes down in the Bears slip cordon.

Charlie Allison is the man who escapes.

  11. Women's One-Day Cup updatepublished at 13:56 BST 16 September

Lancashire have finished their 50 overs on 241-6 against The Blaze at Trent Bridge.

A place in Sunday's final is the prize at stake and the Red Rose were indebted to Ellie Threlkeld and Ailsa Lister for a superb fifth-wicket partnership of 166.

Lister was stumped off Kirstie Gordon for 96 off 91 balls, an innings featuring 11 fours, and Threlkeld was run out at the start of the penultimate over for 92.

  12. Postpublished at 13:56 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 0-0

The Notts opening pair of Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater head out to the middle.

They already have 58 runs in the bank.

What are we thinking would be a tough run chase for Surrey?

Anything over 220 might be a tall order on this surface against the Notts seam attack.

  13. 100 runs

100 up for Essexpublished at 13:54 BST 16 September

    Warwicks v Essex 106-2

Essex continue to progress slowly but surely.

Warwickshire are racing through the overs - they need bonus points and that means taking wickets.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:53 BST 16 September

    Goldsworthy c Brown b Sundar 22 (Somerset 99-5 v Hants)

And Washington Sundar has his first breakthrough.

Lewis Goldsworthy got away with one in the previous over off the same bowler but trying to turn a turning ball here into the leg side he glances the face of the bat.

Ben Brown, with a very tidy piece of work behind the stumps, takes the catch from point blank range and Somerset have given Hants a sight of the tail now.

  15. 'That's the way to get him out'published at 13:53 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 all out v Notts 231

    Roland Butcher
Former England batter on BBC Radio Surrey

Matt Fisher is caught at slip from the bowling of Josh Tongue.

He just fended outside the off stump and a good, sharp catch taken at second slip. This means the innings has come to a close.

    Excellent seam bowling from Notts.

  16. wicket

    Ingram b Reece 15 (Derbys v Glamorgan 84-4)

    A big wicket for Derbyshire.

Colin Ingram plays forward in defence but doesn't place the bat adjacent to the pad and Luis Reece threads the ball through the gap.

He has 2-27 from eight overs now.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:48 BST 16 September

    Wharton c Carson b Robinson 9 (Sussex v Yorks 100-3)

Deserved reward for Ollie Robinson as James Wharton edges to first slip, where Jack Carson takes a superb low catch tumbling to his left.

Jonny Bairstow comes out to join Mayank Agarwal, who is seven not out.

Nine wickets have fallen for 72 runs.

Matt Fisher edges Josh Tongue to Freddie McCann at second slip.

    Notts lead by 58 runs.

It's the first time this season Surrey have been dismissed for under 200 in the County Championship.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:47 BST 16 September

    Lategan lbw b Raine 44 (Durham v Worcs 133-3)

That is a good partnership broken and a dangerous player removed.

Daniel Lategan had looked pretty potent and had just cracked a lovely cut through point for four but Ben Raine has cut short his contribution six away from his half century.

  20. 50 for Edavalathpublished at 13:47 BST 16 September

    Worcestershire 123-2 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Reehan Edavalath has reached his first 50 in first-class cricket. He's batted really nicely and the knock included eight fours.

He put on 84 with Dan Lanegan, but it has clouded over and gone a bit overcast just after lunch.

This would be a good time for Durham to try and use the overhead conditions to their advantage. They need wickets to get bonus points on the board.
