    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 121-6

Lyndon James crunches a drive through extra cover for four runs.

He holds the key here for Notts and setting something potentially out of Surrey's reach.

    Notts lead by 179 runs.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:43 BST 16 September

    Hughes c Bean b White 2 (Sussex 10-1 v Yorks 194)

    Strike one for Yorkshire.

A good ball from Jack White and Finlay Bean takes the catch at third slip to send Daniel Hughes on his way.

  3. 250 runs

250 up for Essexpublished at 16:43 BST 16 September

    Warwicks v Essex 251-4

A first batting bonus point for Essex.

Michael Pepper squeezes the ball down to the vacant third-man boundary.

The new ball is available to Warwickshire.

  4. 50 runs

for Ben Coxpublished at 16:40 BST 16 September

    Leics 364-5 v Kent

Corey Flintoff is unlucky as a big inside edge just misses leg stump and Ben Cox adds four to his score.

The wicketkeeper then cover drives out to the sweeper for a single and that takes him to 50 from just 51 balls.

  5. 1,000 runs for Tom Abellpublished at 16:38 BST 16 September

    Somerset 256-5 v Hants

Tom Abell smacks the stumps at the non-strikers' end but still scurries through for a single that brings up four figures for the season.

That puts him fourth in the leading runs scorers for Division One behind Dom Sibley, Haseeb Hameed and Adam Lyth.

First time in three seasons he has reached the milestone.

  6. 6 runs

Postpublished at 16:38 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 114-6

Tom Lawes drops short and for the second time today he's heaved into the stands for six.

Liam Patterson-White does the damage this time.

That won't do the condition of the ball any good.

  7. 50 runs

for Shan Masoodpublished at 16:36 BST 16 September

    Leics 353-5 v Kent

Shan Masood drives Oliver Curtiss for four and reaches 50 from 67 balls - it also earns Leicestershire their third batting point, every one taking them closer to the Division Two title.

They have maintained a run rate of over five an over throughout the day so far and there are still 34 to be bowled before the close.

  8. Postpublished at 16:35 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 106-6

Surrey want the ball changed, they think it's gone out of shape.

Umpires Nigel Llong and Ian Blackwell confer and get out the measure - like Cinderella's slipper, it fits so we continue.

    Notts lead by 164 runs.

  9. Batting point for Somersetpublished at 16:34 BST 16 September

    Somerset 251-5 v Hants

Tom Abell moves his side into credit in points and into not particularly nervous looking 90s.

He is going along beautifully and looks on track for a second consecutive century.

  10. Postpublished at 16:34 BST 16 September

    Leics 349-5 v Kent

Ben Cox is really warming to his task now, pulling and cutting Ekansh Singh for successive fours in his latest over. He and Shan Masood have put on 71 together so far.

  11. 'Barker felt it a bit last week'published at 16:33 BST 16 September

    Somerset 251-5 v Hants

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

I think Keith Barker felt it a bit last week - his first game back. He didn't bowl a lot of overs but when you've been out for a long time like he was and let's be honest in the twilight years of his career, then even a few overs at this is hard work.

  12. Roderick and D'Oliveira add 100 runspublished at 16:32 BST 16 September

    Durham v Worcestershire 244-4

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Gareth Roderick and Brett D'Oliveira have put on 109 so far for Worcestershire.

I have to say things have looked absolutely straightforward for them. Both have reached half centuries as well.

The Durham bowling attack continues to look ordinary and I am struggling to see - again - where the wickets are coming from.

I can't think of a false shot from either of the batsmen. And they don't appear to be under any real pressure at the moment.

  13. 'A long way to go'published at 16:31 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 104-6

    Roland Butcher
Former England batter on BBC Radio Surrey

Nottinghamshire will be pleased if they are still batting by the end of the day because that would be a bit of a recovery.

They can't be too happy with the current lead. They'll certainly know they need some more.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:28 BST 16 September

    Carlson c Aitchison b Dal 94 (Derbys v Glamorgan 193-7)

    Stupendous.

Anuj Dal finds the edge and the partially unsighted Ben Aitchison dives to his left at first slip to take a one-handed catch.

Derbyshire needed something special to dislodge Kiran Carlson and produced it.

He falls short of the fourth century of the season but has taken his overall tally to 978 runs.

It's boiling up towards a potentially exciting finish in the semi-final at Trent Bridge.

The Blaze are 157-3 and need to score 85 from the last 15 overs to beat Lancashire.

Kathryn Bryce is 84 not out and Georgia Elwiss has 43 - they have added 120 together so far.

  16. 100 runs

100 up for Nottspublished at 16:25 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 100-6

Lyndon James (22*) is playing a good hand here for Notts.

He looks a really good all-rounder and does have a double hundred and a century this season.

Liam Patterson-White gets a single to bring up the Notts 100.

    The lead is 158 runs.

  17. Postpublished at 16:22 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 98-6

Matt Fisher returns to the Surrey attack, seeking that one wicket for a first 10-fer in a first class match.

Immediately Lyndon James leaves one that just misses his off stump.

  18. Northants all outpublished at 16:21 BST 16 September

    Glos v Northants 206

A rapid end to the Northants first innings at Bristol as they lose their last four wickets for seven runs - three of them to Graeme van Buuren.

He bowls Richard Keogh as the all-rounder attempts a slog sweep and Ajeet Singh Dale wraps it up by cleaning up Ben Whitehouse with one that is far too good for a number 10.

  19. Notts lead by 150 runspublished at 16:13 BST 16 September

    Surrey 173 v Notts 231 & 92-6

Surrey will not want to chase anything more than 200.

Notts need a wagging tail as the 150-run lead comes up.

A few more have come through the gates since tea, taking advantage of free admission after the interval.

  20. Postpublished at 16:12 BST 16 September

    Lancs v Middx 67-4

No hat-trick for Tom Aspinwall who fires his Hollywood moment delivery down leg but a good check to Middlesex momentum nonetheless.
