    Hants 92-0 v Notts 578-8d

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Notts will be preaching patience, they need 20 wickets you would imagine to win this game.

They have got a huge first innings score and they will be hoping today to whittle their way through Hampshire once, and hopefully do it again tomorrow.

200 overs remain in the match, 104 today and 96 tomorrow which means 20 wickets in 200 overs, simple!

    Lancashire strike early at Cheltenham.

Joe Phillips has flicked Chis Green's off spin straight to Keaton Jennings at short leg.

A sharp chance but it's stuck. Always an element of luck about those catches but the former skipper clings on.

Another good start for 21-year-old Phillips, playing just his seventh first-class game here. A third fifty but yet to really announce himself.

Sussex cricket groundImage source, Rex Features

We had a few rain delays yesterday, especially in Scarborough, and a lot of heavy cloud around the south.

There still isn't much sun around today but the forecast looks a bit more promising with only a few showers expected in the north and south east - light ones or none at all we hope.

The best of the sunshine looks set to be in the west and Wales, spectators heading to our matches in Cheltenham and Cardiff will be glad to hear.

  20. Cheltenham challenge for Andersonpublished at 10:56 British Summer Time 24 July

    Glos 179-1 v Lancs 557

James Anderson hasn't played at Cheltenham for six years and bowling at the College has got a little tougher during that time.

Lancashire were on the verge of being bowled out relatively cheaply at 302-8, Chris Green, with a career-best 160, and Tom Hartley, also a new best of 130, added the county's record ninth-wicket stand of 212.

In reply, Anderson has got through eight overs and picked up the only wicket of the Gloucestershire innings so far, with Ben Charlesworth's 104 meaning the hosts return in good shape.
