What a shot from Mills. Cleared the front leg and swung through the line. It flies for six.

What a brilliant way to end Currie's run.

Magnificent spell from Scott Currie but it ends with him being smashed for six by Tymal Mills!

Smeared over the off side by the Southern Brave tailender.

That maximum just about keeps Brave in this with 10 balls to go.

Originals are inching closer to their first victory. Boy do they need it given last year's campaign.

They will be desperate to start their tournament off with a flyer.

    Bracewell c Buttler b Currie 2 (Brave 104-8)

    Scott Currie has four!

Boos from the Old Trafford crowd after a dubious wide call the ball before turn to cheers as Michael Bracewell edges behind.

What a night Currie is having. Yet another slower ball, finds a bit of extra bounce and Bracewell nicks it through to Jos Buttler trying to heave it leg side.

    Game over?

Currie took the pace off the ball completely and it was a brilliant catch behind the stumps.

Brave's last hope has to depart.

    Jordan c Buttler b Currie 8 (Brave 101-7)

Three sets for Scott Currie - and he's taken a wicket in every one of them!

Slower ball again, wide of off and Chris Jordan edges behind attempting a big hit.

The ball loops through and Jos Buttler dives forward to take the catch.

Is that the telling blow from the Originals?

If Manchester Originals get over the line, it will be the lowest total ever defended at Old Trafford in The Hundred. Previous lowest was 143 v London Spirit in 2021.

  9. Brave 101-6published at 16 balls left

    Need 31 more runs

Important runs for Southern Brave as Chris Jordan whips Scott Currie away for four.

Sonny Baker was out there, got to the ball but slipped at the crucial moment to allow it to get past him.

Two more next ball take Brave up to 100.

    Fantastic stuff from Sonny Baker.

Fast, fiery and accurate. WinViz is looking extremely different now...

Excellent from Sonny Baker. Roy tried to guide it towards third man but it crashes into his stumps.

The dangerous Jason Roy has to depart. Brave are in trouble now.

    Chopped on! Big wicket.

Good pace from Sonny Baker and Jason Roy gets a thick inside edge onto the stumps as he goes back trying to hit through the off side.

That long spell without facing a ball really seemed to knock him off his stride.

    Originals well on top now.

Great start from Sonny Baker on his return to the attack.

His first ball rears up to beat Michael Bracewell, his second skids through lower.

    Tough for the batters now.

Every five balls are an event. The balls are skidding through and they are quickening the batter. They can't get underneath it, yet again.

    Hilton Cartwright will be gutted.

    Cartwright b Noor (Brave 91-5)

    Gone next ball!

Hilton Cartwright goes back and tries to whip through the leg side but drags it onto his stumps.

Big wicket for Noor Ahmad to finish his set. He's done for the night and ends with 2-21, impressive stuff from the mystery spinner.

  17. Brave 91-4published at 26 balls left

    Need 41 more runs

Brilliant timing from Hilton Cartwright and a much-needed boundary for Southern Brave.

He hammers the ball through the covers and it beats the dive of Sonny Baker on the rope.

  18. Brave 85-4published at 28 balls left

    Need 47 more runs

Noor Ahmad is on for his last five and beats Hilton Cartwright with a googly first up.

Big appeal for lbw second ball but it looked to pitch a long way outside leg. Don't waste your review on that.

It looks like Lewis Gregory will have to bowl another 10 balls as I can't imagine Originals going to Farhan Ahmed again.

Gregory is doing really well and Originals are in a great position.

  20. Brave 85-4published at 30 balls left

Jason Roy has had a long wait to face a ball - 17 deliveries in total - and might just have lost a bit of rhythm.

It's a brilliant set from Lewis Gregory, just one from it as he manages to extract some extra bounce out of the surface.

Is the pitch starting to favour the Originals?
