    Beaumont b Fatima 11 (Eng 35-1)

A very confusing shot from Tammy Beaumont...

Just as England looked to be finding their feet in this innings, Beaumont walks across her stumps and tries to ramp.

She misses, Fatima Sana's delivery is on the money and crashes into middle stump.

An entirely unnecessary shot in this situation. Not one Beaumont will want to see again any time soon.

Pakistan can't let the wheels come off, they've done all the hard work and now England have found their rhythm.

    Suddenly, the boundaries are flowing.

Tammy Beaumont joins the fun as she slashes a very wide delivery from Fatima Sana through point for four.

  4. Eng 31-0published at 7 overs

    Super shot from Maia Bouchier!

It's too full from Diana Baig and Bouchier effortlessly lifts the ball up over mid-on for four more.

That's a good over for England, 12 from it.

Incidentally, this is the same score we went off at Taunton.

    Four more!

Short, wide and slapped through the covers by Maia Bouchier.

England need that to take off the shackles.

  8. Eng 23-0published at 6.2 overs

Worked smartly off the hip by Maia Bouchier. Four useful runs for England.

Diana Baig won't be happy with that delivery.

  9. Eng 19-0published at 6 overs

The pressure is starting to build on the England openers and perhaps that is what leads to Maia Bouchier calling for a risky single.

She gets home at the non-striker's end but a clean pick up in the covers and she might have been in trouble.

Tammy Beaumont does time a couple of drives well to end the over but can't beat the in-field.

Uh oh. Some light rain has started to fall at Chelmsford.

The umpires are keeping them out there for now...

I was expecting more from England but actually, I feel that Pakistan have controlled the first few overs here.

A rare slightly wayward delivery from Diana Baig is drifting down leg but Tammy Beaumont misses out.

She gloves it and is slightly relieved to see the ball bounce just short of the wicketkeeper.

Beauty! A jaffa from Baig draws Beamount forward and nips away to beat the edge. There is a big appeal but no review from Pakistan.

Good call. UltraEdge shows daylight between bat and ball. The sound was bat brushing pad.

  13. Eng 17-0published at 4 overs

An early bowling change for Pakistan as skipper Nida Dar ends her own spell after just one over. Fatima Sana replaces her.

A tempter wide of off draws a play and a miss from Tammy Beaumont but the seamer pushes the next one too far and it's called wide.

It's another very tidy over, though. Just two from it.

The question for Pakistan is how long can they keep this pressure on, they've started off really well.

    Excellent over from Diana Baig.

Tammy Beaumont takes a single from the first ball but the seamer then puts five dot balls together to Maia Bouchier.

I'm wondering if England will take an aggressive approach, there hasn't been any big shots yet.

  17. Eng 14-0published at 2 overs

Nida Dar is on to bowl the second over and it's a productive one for England.

It ends with the first boundary of the innings, a thick edge from Maia Bouchier but it spins away down to deep third for four.

The ball threatened to hold up just short but trickles into the boundary sponge.

Width from Diana Baig and a touch short which allows Tammy Beaumont to punch the ball nicely through the covers.

The boundaries are pretty big today at Chelmsford so the ball is reeled in just before the rope as the England openers come back for three.

Maia Bouchier guides the last ball to deep third for a single. Steady start all round.

  19. Eng 0-0published at 0.1 overs

After a false start sees Tammy Beaumont distracted by something and back away, Diana Baig comes in to bowl the first ball.

It's pushed into the covers for no run. We're away.
