    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 90-3 (f-o)

Rob Yates is having quite the match for Warwickshire.

He scored 191 on the first day as part of a mammoth opening stand with Alex Davies, and with the ball he now has six wickets across Durham's two innings.

Before this game, he had taken only eight wickets in first-class cricket with his off spin.

  2. Postpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 239-6

I mentioned Ben Foakes warming up with former Somerset staff member James Alway before play, well perhaps more was required, harsh as it may seem, it is pretty rare to report on a Ben Foakes bye, let alone three of them on a placid pitch from one Dan Lawrence ball.

Plus four off the two bats, seven runs to the Somerset team total off it.

The lead is up to 96.

  3. 13:40 BST start planned at Chelmsfordpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 0-0 (target 375)

They're taking lunch at 13:00 at Essex with a view to starting at 13:40.

32 overs have been lost so far.

  4. wicket

WICKET: Ackermann b Yates 22published at 12:42 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 89-3 (f-o)

First wicket of the day for Warwickshire!

Rob Yates is the man who gets it, getting one to turn back sharply at Colin Ackermann.

Ackermann attempts to whip the ball into the leg side but it spins past him and hits the middle stump.

Ackermann and Matty Potts have reduced Durham's deficit to 92, as David Bedingham joins Potts in the middle with 15 minutes to see out before lunch.

  5. Postpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 232-6

Three for Kasey Aldridge off that Cam Steel over.

And Dan Lawrence to replace Jamie Overton from the Vauxhall End.

Two overs of him before the new ball?

A misfielded parry at short extra cover is well backed up by the skipper Rory Burns at mid off to save Surrey potentially four runs.

Plenty of dots from Jamie Overton to Kasey Aldridge after he gifted Lewis Gregory consecutive fours in the first over of the day.

Aldridge does then pull for four, then a single, though Somerset are not worried on the runs front.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Matty Pottspublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 84-2 (f-o)

Matty Potts has raised his scoring rate in the past 20 minutes or so, to the extent that the Durham man now has 50!

The highlight was a superb six over long on off left-arm spinner Danny Briggs.

It's a fourth half-century in first-class cricket for Potts, who came in as a nightwatchman with Durham 10-2 on the third evening and he is going a long way to helping his side save the match.

  8. Postpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 15 April

    Gloucs 144-4 (target 498) v Yorkshire

It's just not happening for Yorkshire so far in this first session.

The visitors have turned to spin at both ends with Joe Root and Dan Moriarty rattling through their overs, but Ollie Price and James Bracey are looking good.

Their fifth-wicket stand is worth 50.

  9. Postpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 223-6

Kasey Aldridge has dominated the strike, unintentionally, with two last-ball-of-the-over singles thus far.

He punches Cam Steel for two through a tiny gap in the cover ring, then drives to long on for one, three off it.

The lead is up to 80.

  10. Glamorgan strike in victory bidpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 15 April

    Glamorgan v Derbyshire 79-3 (target 401)

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan picked up two wickets in the first 65 minutes in their victory bid against Derbyshire as they look to beat the weather and the clock.

After a 15-minute delay, ex-Glamorgan captain David Lloyd ran himself out without addition to his overnight 24, Mason Crane with the direct hit from mid-wicket.

On a blustery day, Wayne Madsen made a breezy 25 but inside-edged James Harris for four just before Harris moved one in through his defences.

Luis Reece, who scored 590 runs against Glamorgan last season, has dropped anchor, but Derbyshire could hope for some weather assistance in their survival bid.

  11. 'It's been a good hour and half for Durham'published at 12:30 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 73-2 (f-o)

    Phil Britt
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire

It's been a good hour and half for Durham so far.

We've had 22 overs and Durham added 61 runs in that hour and a half but most importantly lost no further wickets.

Warwickshire have been a bit frustrated. They've had one or two shouts but nothing really. There's not been any catches offered or chances with the pads.

  12. Postpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 220-6

Jamie Overton puts first innings centurion Dom Sibley at leg third slip (not quite a leg gully), two midwickets in, plus a deep point, deep fine leg and deep square leg, but still cannot extricate Kasey Aldridge with the inevitable short ball ploy.

The easy single Overton gives him to deep point last ball of the over deprives him of consecutive maidens.

  13. Postpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 73-2 (f-o)

The wind is starting to get up and the sun has disappeared for the moment at Edgbaston.

This was the only match to start on time today and we've got through 22 overs so far - all of them wicketless for the Bears.

  14. Postpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 219-6

One boundary from Cam Steel's second over.

Not much on that, but the timing is enough and the boundary short enough for Lewis Gregory to earn four in the eye of a needle gap between midwicket and long on.

  15. 'Somerset would be delighted with a full day'published at 12:24 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 212-6

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

I'm not sure we're going to get a day's play. Somerset would be absolutely delighted if we do get a full day's play because it would mean that Somerset have saved the game.

I think Somerset have got to bat for at least 50 overs.

Somerset would have, I wouldn't say high hopes of saving the game but they will have some hope of saving it.

  16. Maiden over for Overton Jpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 215-6

A lovely on drive from Kasey Aldridge is well fielded at midwicket.

You would have thought Jamie Overton would be happy bowling into a breeze having spent his youth steaming in at one of the country's windiest venues right by the Atlantic Ocean and North Devon estuary at Instow, but he aborts his run up due to the wind, and rounds the maiden over off with a well dodged bumper.

  17. wicket

WICKET: Madsen b Harris 25published at 12:21 British Summer Time 15 April

    Glamorgan v Derbyshire 79-3 (target 401)

    HUGE breakthrough for Glamorgan.

James Harris bends the ball in and Wayne Madsen plays all around it. Stumps scattered.

Seven wickets to go for the hosts in Cardiff.

  18. 'It should be an intriguing day's play'published at 12:20 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 215-6

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

It should be an intriguing day's cricket, I really think it's going to be fascinating.

  19. 50 for Ollie Pricepublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 15 April

    Gloucs 127-4 (target 498) v Yorkshire

England Lions batter Ollie Price has led a fine effort from his side today.

The 22-year-old goes past fifty for the 11th time in first-class cricket and is going a long way towards saving this game for Gloucestershire.

Still plenty of work to do of course with a scheduled 75 overs remaining.

  20. Postpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 215-6

Cam Steel's leg spin from the Pavilion End.

Kasey Aldridge cover drives sublimely, but the wet outfield allows Kemar Roach to jog around from deep cover to keep it to two.

Three from the over as he takes a single also.
