  1. 'Another tense session is in prospect'published at 15:52 British Summer Time 15 April

    Tea: Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 320-7

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

You feel that Somerset are within maybe 10 or 15 overs of making this game safe.

Another tense session is in prospect.

  2. 'Potts has gone on to prosper'published at 15:52 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 201-4 (f-o)

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

    Very well batted, Matty Potts.

He came in for nightwatchman yesterday, he did his job then has gone on to prosper.

It won't do his England credentials any harm if he can show he can bat as well as bowl.

  3. Tea at Chelmsfordpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 79-5 (target 375)

The penultimate ball before tea sees Joe Denly skip down the pitch and stroke Simon Harmer over long on for six.

Essex will need five more wickets in the final session of the match with 32 overs to get them in.

  4. 100 runs

100 for Matty Pottspublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 192-4 (f-o) - Durham lead by 11

I know this has been a run-filled round of County Championship fixtures, but I certainly did not expect to be typing this at 11:00 BST this morning...

Matty Potts has scored his maiden first-class century - and he fully deserves it as well.

It's taken 173 balls, with his innings containing 11 fours and a six.

After coming in as nightwatchman at 10-2 on Sunday evening, he's guided Durham into a narrow lead and to the brink of a draw.

It's a knock that won't do his England chances any harm either. The more strings to the bow, the better at the highest level.

  5. Derbyshire set to hold on in Cardiffpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 15 April

    Tea: Glamorgan v Derbyshire 185-3 (target 401)

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Luis Reece and Brooke Guest have made virtually certain of a draw in Cardiff with a century stand, completed during an afternoon shortened by rain at both ends.

Glamorgan busily rotated three seamers and three spinners without success as the spin-friendly pitch of the first two days flattened out and lost its early demons.

Reece had 27 overs start, but only just pipped Guest to his half-century with the keeper batting more aggressively.

It may be an anti-climax, but at least a few hardy supporters in the ground, plus listeners and viewers, have had plenty of cricket in Cardiff over the four days.

  6. Tea at The Ovalpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 320-7 - Somerset lead by 177

Maiden for Gus Atkinson, no drops in this over, but plenty of funky field placements, the short ball is still the main tactic but still no success for Surrey.

Play to resume at 16:00 BST, they could shake hands at 16:50, but Surrey need three wickets for that not to be the most sensible option here, Somerset lead by 177 runs crucially with potentially only 30-35 or so overs remaining pending light and rain holding into the evening.

  7. Postpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 180-4 (f-o)

Matty Potts is up to 96...

  8. wicket

WICKET: Price c Tattersall b Coad 147published at 15:40 British Summer Time 15 April

    Gloucs 293-5 (target 498) v Yorkshire

    Game VERY much back on.

Ben Coad finally gets Ollie Price to play a false shot as he prods forward and nicks behind.

    It ends a fantastic innings from the 22-year-old. A career-best 147 off 220 balls with 23 fours.

And that'll be tea. Yorkshire will have 31.4 overs in the final session to get the last five wickets.

205 more runs will probably be a step too far for the hosts.

  9. 'Bedingham wicket will keep Bears interested'published at 15:40 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 176-4 (f-o)

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

It's not completely gone for Warwickshire, the wicket of David Bedingham will keep them interested.

  10. Twins, plus an uncle & nephewpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 15 April

So we now have the Overton twins on opposing sides at The Oval, with one brother bowling at the other during the afternoon session, and an uncle and nephew batting together at Chelmsford.

It can't be too often that such familial links have been present on the same day in English county cricket?

  11. 'Essex are very much on course for a win'published at 15:35 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 65-5 (target 375)

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

This is a very dispirited Kent camp at this point, trying everything they can to see off Essex but this looks I would say now last chance saloon.

I think Essex are very much on course for a win.

  12. Play resumes at Edgbastonpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 173-4 (f-o)

The rain has relented at Edgbaston and Durham resume trailing Warwickshire by eight runs.

Matty Potts will be happier than most to be back out there, as he's 10 runs away from a maiden first-class century.

  13. Postpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 317-7

Had it been the first innings, that drop would have been from the first ball outside the bonus point earning territory, but it is not, and it was not taken.

Jamie Overton continuing, just 36 overs carded in this game now, but surely 16:50 BST will see hands shaken now if Surrey do not go bang, bang, bang sharpish before tea time.

  14. dropped catch

Talking of drops!published at 15:31 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 317-7

Curse of the text commentator again, this time Lewis Gregory does not pull well, top-edging to the short side boundary fielder.

Nearly as bad as Tom Banton's earlier in the match.

A dolly for Kemar Roach at deep square, it bounces off his head and onto the dirt to add injury to insult.

Not masses of Rew this game, but that is one of two recently mentioned big catching chances Surrey will rue.

  15. wicket

WICKET: Finch lbw b Critchley 14published at 15:29 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 65-5 (target 375)

Matt Critchley celebrates taking wicketImage source, Rex Features

Kent five wickets down now. Matt Critchley strikes in his second over, trapping Harry Finch in front.

Jaydn Denly joins his uncle Joe Denly at the crease, with a huge effort required to save this match.

  16. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 317-7

Could this game be different today had Surrey taken one big chance yesterday evening?

Kasey Aldridge was dropped by Jamie Overton on 0 yesterday remember, is he still smarting that his usual buckets could not hold on then?

He keeps banging them in, but big bro and former skipper duck, weave or pull comfortably.

  17. Tea at Utilita Bowlpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 15 April

    Hampshire 367 & 119-4 v Lancashire 484

    And in fact that's tea.

Hampshire lost just the two wickets in the two and a bit hours of play after wet weather delayed the start until 13:10 BST.

Nathan Lyon has taken both of the wickets to fall, including that of James Vince for 33 just before the interval.

Hampshire lead by two runs at the break.

  18. 'Air of resignation about Surrey body language'published at 15:25 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 316-7

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

There's an air of resignation about the Surrey body language at the moment. A lot of hands in pockets.

If you're a Surrey supporter, you'll be thinking we badly need a wicket.

  19. Hampshire into the leadpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 15 April

    Hampshire 367 & 118-4 v Lancashire 484

Tom Prest runs two off Nathan Lyon and Hampshire take the lead.

39 overs remain in the day's play.

  20. Postpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 316-7

Gus Atkinson now with the short ball attempts.

Again successfully negotiated by these two Somerset allrounders.

109 overs bowled in this innings now, just the seven wickets Surrey have to show for their efforts with the kooka.
