  1. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 58-4 (target 375)

Essex were the only team to win in the first round of matches and have given themselves a huge chance of backing that up with another against Kent today.

Simon Harmer has four men crowded around the bat as he continues his spell.

  2. 'There's a lot of blue sky around'published at 15:19 British Summer Time 15 April

    Hampshire 367 & 115-4 v Lancashire 484

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

If you took the wind away it's a perfect day. It's bright, there's a lot of blue sky around.

That wicket has just made it a fraction more interesting from a game situation.

  3. ouch!

Craig Overton's back is OKpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 315-7

Worrying after his winter back surgery, he is up and continuing after multiple stretches.

He knows what is waiting for him - everyone in the ground or watching at home does too.

It is not super short from Jamie though, back of a length moreso, Craig keeps it out comfortably enough, though still looks in discomfort.

  4. wicket

WICKET: Vince lbw b Lyon 33published at 15:17 British Summer Time 15 April

    Hampshire 367 & 115-4 v Lancashire 484

Nathan Lyon gets one through a bit quicker and beats James Vince's defences, trapping the Hampshire captain lbw for 33.

Tom Prest is the next man in with Hampshire still two runs behind Lancashire's first-innings total of 484.

A draw is still the favourite but that's made things a little more interesting.

  5. Twin v twin klaxonpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 315-7

    Here we are, at last!

Jamie Overton manages two dots to his three minute older brother Craig Overton, then strays down the leg so Craig clips one down to fine leg.

The penultimate ball sees real drama though, Lewis Gregory is dropped at short leg, then both twins end up on the floor, one diving for the ball, the other for his ground, parents Mark and Helen with head in hands hoping neither is properly injured here, Craig will receive treatment whilst Jamie attempts to walk it off.

  6. 'Credit to both sides'published at 15:13 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 311-7

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

I think if it's 200 off 30, Surrey will have a go at it but I think we'll be shaking hands.

Credit to both sides, it's been a good game of cricket this.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Nick Gubbinspublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 15 April

    Hampshire 367 & 111-3 v Lancashire 484 - Hants trail by six

It's taken 135 balls but Nick Gubbins has brought up a patient half-century for Hampshire, who are well on the way to batting their way to a draw against Lancashire.

Nathan Lyon is back into the attack - he took 1-27 from his first 17 overs.

  8. 'Ball finally dominating'published at 15:07 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 40-4 (target 375)

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

In parts of this game it's been procedural, bat dominating ball.

It's the opposite on the final day right now.

  9. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 311-7

Eight points for the draw seem to be getting closer to being Lewis Gregory's, also would be his first first-class hundred of the season.

He is 65* and his side leads by 168.

  10. Postpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 308-7

Umpire Richard Kettleborough is unmoved again, lbw appeal from a Cam Steel googly.

    Just outside the line?

Craig Overton's stride length probably helps.

  11. Rain stops play at Edgbastonpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 172-4 (f-o)

They're bringing out the BIG covers at Edgbaston. As the rain continues, I can't see there being a resumption any time soon.

  12. Postpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 304-7

Cam Steel nearly gets Craig Overton with first the dragged down long hop, then the full bunger, but Overton gets the latter away for four.

103 overs bowled in this innings.

All-spin for Surrey for the time being, still no Overton v Overton today.

  13. wicket

WICKET: Leaning b Snater 8published at 14:57 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 37-4 (target 375)

That's a superb ball from Shane Snater.

The Essex seamer gets one to nip back to Jack Leaning and the middle stump goes flying.

This game could be over pretty quickly at this rate.

  14. Postpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 15 April

    Hampshire 367 & 106-3 v Lancashire 484

In his latest over, Tom Bailey is bowling seamers to right-hander James Vince and switching to off spin to left-hander Nick Gubbins.

Lancashire are trying everything to find a wicket. They've only managed to get rid of nightwatchman Kyle Abbott so far today.

  15. 300 runs

300 for Somersetpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 300-7

    Massive appeal, but nothing doing.

Dan Lawrence thinking he has Craig Overton caught behind on 23.

He gets a single last ball of the over.

The lead is up to 157 and this game might be slipping away from Surrey.

  16. wicket

WICKET: Bell-Drummond lbw b Harmer 18published at 14:53 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 37-3 (target 375)

Simon Harmer celebrates wicketImage source, Rex Features

Derek Underwood was one of the finest spinners the game has ever seen, and this guy isn't bad either.

Simon Harmer floats one up to Daniel Bell-Drummond, the Kent skipper tries to sweep, misses, and is struck in front.

Kent three down and in trouble.

  17. Rain stops play at Edgbastonpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 15 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 517 & 172-4 (f-o) - Durham trail by nine

Back comes the rain in Birmingham and the players head back to the pavilion.

Matty Potts is 90 not out.

  18. Kent flag at half-mastpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 15 April

    Essex v Kent 37-2 (target 375)

Kent flag at half-mastImage source, Rex Features

The Kent flag is flying at half-mast at Chelmsford following the news that legendary Kent and England bowler Derek Underwood has died at the age of 78.

Daniel Bell-Drummond and Jack Leaning have steadied Kent after those two early Jamie Porter wickets.

  19. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 15 April

    Surrey 428 v Somerset 285 & 295-7

Gus Atkinson manages a maiden before Dan Lawrence fails at the last, Lewis Gregory tucking one into the vacant forward square leg area.

Bowling change: Cam Steel on for Atkinson from the Pavilion End.

  20. Play resumes in Bristolpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 15 April

    Gloucs 226-4 (target 498) v Yorkshire

Luckily that heavy shower skirted the ground and so they're back out.
