  1. NORTHANTS DRAW WITH GLAMORGANpublished at 16:30 BST 11 September
    Breaking

    Northants 413-9 dec v Glam 467 & 241-7 dec

James Sales is on to bowl and an LBW shout against Mason Crane is turned down.

Outside off stump. A single to Crane driving to cover.

16 overs left but bad weather is approaching and the players shake hands on a draw. Sensible, really.

Northants did just enough to get close to an imposing first innings total from Glamorgan, powered by a brilliant century from the promising Glamorgan opener Asa Tribe.

Saif Zaib responded with a hundred of his own, his sixth of the campaign and despite a declaration before play began this morning from the hosts, the weather subsequently took too much time out of the game to force a result on a pitch showing signs of turn.

Glamorgan take 15 points from this game and consolidate their position in second place behind leaders Leicestershire.

Northants have a yeild of 14 points and remain in the bottom half of the table.

  2. RESTART AT CHELMSFORD 16:45 BSTpublished at 16:30 BST 11 September

    Essex 457-8dec v Durham 333 & 143-7

    Buckle up.

We'll have 9.5 overs remaining in the day. Durham lead by 19 with three wickets in hand.

Essex are chomping at the bit to see this one through.

  3. Postpublished at 16:24 BST 11 September

Warwickshire 87-1 - target 390 to beat Surrey

Matt Fisher wheels away with the biggest celebrappeal you'll ever see, he's convinced he's pinned Will Young in front but the Kiwi is unmoved and so is the umpire.

Young adds insult to injury for Fisher as he thick-edges the next ball past the slips for four.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:22 BST 11 September

    Bohannon b Evison 46 - Lancs 125-3 - target 303 to beat Kent

    Off-stump flying.

Joey Evison returns to the attack and three balls later he's bowled Josh Bohannon, getting one to nip back a mile and wallop the top of off, ending a 91-run stand with Marcus Harris and sending Josh Bohannon on his way for 46.

Matty Hurst is the new man, joining Marcus Harris.

  5. SOMERSET DRAW WITH YORKSHIREpublished at 16:21 BST 11 September
    Breaking

    Somerset 441-6 dec v Yorkshire 134-9

The two teams shake hands after what, for Yorkshire, was a very uncomfortable final day at Taunton.

With so much time lost to rain over the first three days, the chances of a dramatic finish seemed remote, but when Yorkshire were 60-7, one or two Somerset fans might have been dreaming of an amazing win.

India's Mayank Agarwal was out first ball in his debut innings for the White Rose, and although Adam Lyth dug in for 30, the sol knock of note was Jordan Thompson's 57 off 48 balls.

Lyth's dismissal secured the third bowling point for the home side and with that, the two skippers decided enough was enough.

  6. SUSSEX DRAW WITH HAMPSHIREpublished at 16:21 BST 11 September
    Breaking

Sussex 84-3 - target 278 to beat Hants

The weather has ruined what could have been a fascinating chase on a pitch that appeared to be improving after being "two-paced" in the first couple of days.

Both teams take eight points for the draw plus three bowling points.

So Hampshire cancel out the points deduction they received for a pitch ruled as "sub-standard" earlier in the season plus the three, leaving them six points above Yorkshire and Essex in seventh and eighth, who at the time of writing have yet to complete their 12th round matches.

Nonetheless, they will move closer to the drop zone, currently occupied by Worcestershire and Durham.

    Sussex remain mid-table, currently fifth.

  7. 'It's hard to argue that it's not deservedpublished at 16:19 BST 11 September

    Leicestershire promoted to Division One

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

After 22 years Leicestershire are promoted.

Back in the first division, the Foxes will play with the elite next season after all this time and straight up on the electronic scoreboard goes the sign, promoted.

Will it first (place) or will it be second? Well, just at the moment I suspect nobody in the Leicestershire dressing room cares very much because after a season in which where they've already won six games with two more to play, that is more than anybody else.

On that basis it's hard to argue that the Foxes' promotion is not deserved.

  8. Postpublished at 16:18 BST 11 September

Lancs 125-2 - target 303 to beat Kent

Four around the bat for Matt Parkinson bowling to Marcus Harris on 42* but despite some vociferous appeals for catches off the bat and pad, and maybe an lbw if not, Parkinson is left with the double teapot at the end of the over.

Josh Bohannon is four runs shy of a half-century.

  9. Postpublished at 16:15 BST 11 September

    Northants 413-9 dec v Glam 467 & 238-7

Aadi Sharma is going to have a bowl some occasional leg spin.

A slip, leg slip and short leg are in.

Chris Cooke nudges the fourth ball away leg side for one.

Two for Mason Crane pushing into the off side.

Cooke is beaten by a sharply turning final ball of the over but survives.

  10. Postpublished at 16:13 BST 11 September

Warwickshire 79-1 - target 390 to beat Surrey

Truth be told there is very little jeopardy at the now sun-drenched Oval, which was merely drenched a couple of hours ago.

Rob Yates has 28* with WIll Young on 11* but try as they might, Surrey's seam attack cannot prise another wicket.

  11. Postpublished at 16:12 BST 11 September

    Northants 413-9 dec v Glam 467 & 235-7

Glamorgan are a step or two closer to promotion though that will not be confirmed in this round.

An LBW shout for Calvin Harrison against Mason Crane is turned down.

    The ball pitched outside leg.

Crane padding up and another LBW turned down. Outside the line.

Crane sweeps but the ball has not been timed and he declines a single.

  12. Postpublished at 16:10 BST 11 September

Lancs 113-2 - target 303 to beat Kent

Real shame for Matt Quinn who is trudging off at the start of his eighth over after pulling up mid-run-up.

He's shaking his head, sheer frustration after a brilliant day in which he cracked nine fours in an eye-catching 42 and took 2-10 in the opening stages.

Mo Rizvi will take over the bowling, and his first ball is pulled by Josh Bohannon to backward square to move him to 40*.

  13. LEICESTERSHIRE PROMOTED TO DIVISION ONEpublished at 16:10 BST 11 September
    Breaking

    Leicestershire 342 & 93-1 v Gloucestershire 482 - match drawn

The covers are on the ground because of a heavy downpour, but Leicestershire won't care about that - they will be playing Division One cricket next year for the first time since 2003.

The Foxes began the game knowing that victory would secure promotion but that was unlikely after Gloucestershire piled up a big first-innings total.

Evens at Lord's meant that a draw would be enough and although the visitors declared in the hope to forcing a win to boost their own promotion hopes, the weather meant it was never a realistic possibility.

Rishi Patel and Ian Holland finish on 42 and 27 not out respectively. Cue the champagne.

  14. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Tauntonpublished at 16:09 BST 11 September

    Somerset 441-6 dec v Yorkshire 132-9

There are shadows across the ground but it is also raining at Taunton.

The two team shuffle half-heartedly towards the boundary.

Maybe they think this only going to be a short delay.

  15. Postpublished at 16:07 BST 11 September

Lancs 109-2 - target 303 to beat Kent

Matt Parkinson is getting some tap, his first six overs going for 41 runs.

Marcus Harris has 38* and Josh Bohannon 36* after surviving an lbw shout to end the last Parkinson over.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:07 BST 11 September

    Van der Gugten c Harrison b Whitehouse 21 (Northants 413-9 dec v Glam 467 & 234-7)

A maiden first class wicket for Ben Whitehouse.

Timm van der Gugten is on the back foot trying to slap the ball through point and he's popped up a catch to Calvin Harrison.

Mason Crane will bat so we can reasonably assume there will be no declaration.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Hovepublished at 16:05 BST 11 September

Sussex 84-3 - target 278 to beat Hants

The rain has returned, a red tractor is coming on to the field and that might herald a white flag as far as attempting to finish this game is concerned.

The floodlights are on and the players are off.

The sound of rain hammering down is clearly picked up on the effects microphone.

24 overs left at that point. That will be revised down.

    Goodness me! Hailstones?! Sigh...

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:03 BST 11 September

    Lyth c Abell b Leach (Somerset 441-6 dec v Yorks 132-9)

Somerset don't have time left to win this game, do they?

Adam Lyth jabs a catch to short leg and his 92-ball vigil comes to an end.

Jack Leach now has 2-8 from seven overs.

  19. Postpublished at 16:03 BST 11 September

Sussex 84-3 - target 278 to beat Hants

If we do get a draw here, the bottom half of the table is going to look rather congested, with Sussex, Hampshire and Yorkshire all a bad result away from the drop zone going into the last couple of rounds.

An edged drive from the crease by Tom Haines sends the ball wide of the two slips and away for four off Eddie Jack.

A back foot drive through point brings one more run.

James Coles is struck amidships via an inside edge.

That might have been thigh pad in fact.

  20. Pitch inspection at 16:20 BSTpublished at 16:03 BST 11 September

    Essex 457-8dec v Durham 333 & 143-7

Ben Raine and Matt Potts have added 47 since coming together at 96-7 and Durham lead by 19 but there is the prospect they will have to resume their salvage mission in the not too distant future.
