  1. Rain delay at Hovepublished at 14:35 BST 11 September

Sussex 48-1 - target 278 to beat Hants

A cosy 30 minutes of play there which saw 11 runs and two tough chances missed to dismiss Sean Hunt.

One was a very low chance nicked to the Hapmshire keeper.

The other was a very sharp chance off a flowing bat that scythed the ball between first and second slip.

Hopefully that is not the end.

We will keep an eye on it.

  2. Postpublished at 14:35 BST 11 September

    Essex 457-8dec v Durham 333 & 121-7

Ben Raine and Matt Potts have added 25 for this eighth wicket, and it's just what Durham needed.

Raine has 15*, two more than Potts and the deficit is down to three.

Baby steps, but steps in the right direction.

  3. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Leicesterpublished at 14:34 BST 11 September

    Leics 45-1 - target 316

No, the rain isn't in the mood to pass quickly through.

We have a third break in the action at Grace Road.

Rishi Patel is 15 not out and Ian Holland has 14.

You imagine Leicestershire would be content to settle for a draw and then wait for news from Lord's.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:32 BST 11 September

    Jennings c Finch b Quinn 4 - Lancs 17-1 - target 303

    Now then.

Matt Quinn produces a pearler to Keaton Jennings who pushes at it and feathers an edge to Harry Finch behind the stumps.

A breakthrough for Kent and Lancashire's early momentum has stalled.

Josh Bohannon joins Luke Wells in the middle.

  5. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Hove (again)published at 14:30 BST 11 September

Sussex 48-1 - target 278 to beat Hants

It is spitting with rain but the umpires are trying to play on.

There is in fact better weather to come according to the forecast so maybe it is just a question of getting through this gloomy wave, so to speak.

Ah. Raining harder now. We're going off.

Maybe a short "power" shower. It is raining hard now.

43.4 overs left though that may be revised depending on when we can get back out on to the field.

The floodlights are coming on. It is gloomy out there,

    Welcome to autumnal cricket.

  6. Postpublished at 14:30 BST 11 September

    Essex 457-8dec v Durham 333 & 117-7

A couple for Ben Raine off the bowling of spinner Matt Critchley reduced the arrears to seven.

The sun is out and they have successfully dodged some showers at Chelmsford so far, but Essex need to finish the job on the pitch while they can.

  7. Latest from Tauntonpublished at 14:29 BST 11 September

    Somerset 441-6 dec v Yorkshire 60-6

Most of the square is now uncovered at the County Ground.

Tea will be taken at 2.40pm with a view to restarting the game at 3.00.

Somerset need 14 wickets to win, Yorkshire need another 190 runs for a batting bonus point - which of them is more likely? Perhaps neither.

  8. 'Well done to Notts for win over Pears'published at 14:27 BST 11 September

    Surrey 246 & 391-8 dec v Warwickshire 248 & 60-1

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Probably about halfway through the season people were already eyeing up that Surrey v Nottinghamshire game. It's funny because that's the only time that they play each other this season.

Well done to Nottinghamshire because those are the sort of games that could have gone wrong for them but they've shown a lot of guts and character to get through that against Worcestershire.

  9. Postpublished at 14:26 BST 11 September

Sussex 47-1 - target 278 to beat Hants

Clouds are gathering over Hove but it is not raining. Now.

In theory we have 45 overs left today.

Sean Hunt tries to force Keith Barker through the off side on the back foot but he's missed it.

An attempted flick to leg is also missed but Hunt survives an LBW shout.

    That ball swung late.

A shorter ball is tucked off the hip for one.

  10. Bad light stops play at The Ovalpublished at 14:26 BST 11 September

    Warwickshire 60-1 - target 390

    It's been coming.

The light is the initial reason, though the rain starts to fall as the players head off.

Not necessarily terminal for the day, but it does the chances of a positive result for either side even more slim.

  11. Division Two updatepublished at 14:25 BST 11 September

    Lancs 16-0 - target 303

Lancashire are going to have a crack at this, I can sense it.

Eight byes in the opening two overs, plus eight runs off the bat of Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings have given the Red Rose a flying start.

49 overs to fine 287 runs.

  12. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Lord'spublished at 14:23 BST 11 September

    Middx 298 v Derbys 283 & 153-4

Three balls into spinner Luke Hollman's opening over of the innings and they are off for rain at the home of cricket.

Brooke Guest is 65 not out, Martin Andersson has 31 and these two have added 66 since the dismissal of Harry Came.

    Derbyshire's lead is 138.

  13. Postpublished at 14:23 BST 11 September

Sussex 46-1 - target 278 to beat Hants

Tom Haines drives Keith Barker but cannot clear cover.

    Maiden over.

  14. Postpublished at 14:22 BST 11 September

    Warwickshire 48-1 - target 390

Dan Lawrence is on to twirl some off-spin before the rain arrives.

Rob Yates has 17* with Will Young 3*.

342 more runs needed, though the floodlights are on, the sky looks like Mordor and they need north of six an over already.

  15. Postpublished at 14:21 BST 11 September

    Leics 40-1 - target 316

There is more rain in the air at Grace Road.

They're staying out there for now and Rishi Patel clips Ajeet Singh Dale for four to move to 11 not out.

Leicestershire need 276 from 62 overs to win.

  16. Postpublished at 14:20 BST 11 September

    Essex 457-8dec v Durham 333 & 115-7

Ben Raine carves away another shorter delivery from Simon Harmer to the rope through mid-wicket to move to 13* with his third boundary.

Matt Potts has 9* from 15 balls.

    Durham trail by nine runs.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:17 BST 11 September

    Ingram c Vasconcelos b Harrison 55 (Northants 413-9 dec v Glam 467 & 164-5)

Definite change of gears from Glamorgan, who now lead by 218 but Northants have their fifth wicket.

Leg spinner Calvin Harrison gets Colin Ingram on a sweep shot which he top edges from bat to pad and first slip.

The injured Ben Kellaway is in next.

He injured his calf earlier in the match.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:17 BST 11 September

    Davies lbw b Lawes 31 - Warwickshire 48-1 - target 390

Breakthrough for Surrey, amid the gathering gloom.

Great pace from Tom Lawes who fizzes one in towards off-stump which thumps Alex Davies on the knee-roll and gives the umpire an easy decision. That's Lawes' fifth lbw of the match.

Will Young joins Rob Yates (16*) looking to follow his first innings half-century... weather permitting, of course.

  19. 'Notts over the line but they have not had it easy'published at 14:17 BST 11 September

Notts beat Worcestershire by three wickets

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Nottinghamshire have got over the line, they've certainly not had things easy today.

Worcestershire were superb this morning, getting Notts in all sorts of difficulties by lunch.

A fifth win of the season for Notts and they still cherish hopes of being able to pip Surrey and get their first County Championship title since 2010.

  20. Postpublished at 14:16 BST 11 September

Sussex 44-1 - target 278 to beat Hants

Tom Haines wafts outside off stump, facing Kyle Abbott.

    More frustration for Hampshire.
