  1. Back under way at The Ovalpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire 7-0 - target 390

Alex Davies and Rob Yates resume their quest... whether it's for glory, or survival, we shall soon see...

71 overs remain in the day for Surrey to find 10 wickets, or for the visitors to find 383 runs.

Gus Atkinson bowls the first over, with Yates on strike.

  2. Play resumes at Chelmsfordpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time

    Essex 457-8dec v Durham 333 & 63-4

Ollie Robinson and Colin Ackermann return to the middle with Durham trailing by 61 runs and 65 overs remaining in the day.

Can't take your eye off this one for a minute.

Essex are a bowler short with no Shane Snater but have dealt with the workload manfully thus far, but Doug Bracewell has also been off for some treatment this morning.

Simon Harmer takes the first over but Jamie Porter is refreshed and will surely get a burst at some point after a fine spell first thing this morning.

  3. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:05 British Summer Time

    Kent 293 & 276-7 v Lancs 284

Ekansh Singh's career-best 55* and a blistering assault from Matt Quinn, who has hit eight fours in his 37* from 34 balls has given Kent some breathing space in the 45-minute session before lunch.

Mitch Stanley took two wickets in three balls to leave Kent reeling at seven down and 221 ahead but this eighth wicket is worth 64 in 10 overs and the lead is 285 at the lunch break.

  4. Still raining in Tauntonpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time

    Somerset 441-6 dec v Yorkshire 60-6

They took lunch 10 minutes early at the County Ground because of rain and should therefore be resuming the game about now.

But the weather has not improved during the interval. The covers are on and you wonder how much more action we are going to see in this match.

  5. Still delayed at Hovepublished at 13:00 British Summer Time

Sussex 37-1 - target 278 to beat Hants

The covers are off and it isn't raining.

However, the field is still very damp and it is clouding over again.

An early lunch was taken at noon in hope of some afternoon play.

More updates as they come in.

  6. 50 runs

for Ekansh Singhpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time

    Kent 293 & 268-7 v Lancs 284

The teenager wallops Tom Hartley to the long-off boundary for his fifth four to go with a six and brings up his maiden first class half-century from 121 balls.

He's put on 50 with Matt Quinn for the eight wicket too as the Kent lead passes 275.

  7. Kohler-Cadmore raising cleft lip awarenesspublished at 12:51 British Summer Time

    Tom Kohler-CadmoreImage source, Getty Images

Somerset's Tom Kohler-Cadmore says it has been "really special" to be able to raise awareness of cleft lips and palates after his son was born with the condition last month.

Kohler-Cadmore and his wife Melissa Avison found out their son, Dougie, had a cleft lip and palate at their 20-week pregnancy scan.

Since Dougie's birth in early August, the top-order batter has had a sticker for UK national charity CLAPA - the Cleft Lip and Palate Association - on his bat during The Hundred where he was playing for Welsh Fire and now in the T20 Blast and County Championship for Somerset.

"To be able to do that and put it on the national stage has been really special," Kohler-Cadmore told BBC Points West.

    Somerset 441-6 dec v Yorkshire 60-6

    Surrey 246 & 391-8 dec v Warwickshire 248 & 7-0

    Sussex 122 & 37-1 v Hampshire 226 & 173 - no play before lunch

    Worcestershire 182 & 160 v Nottinghamshire 207 & 91-6

    Division Two

    Kent 293 & 251-7 v Lancashire 284 - still in play after delayed start

    Leicestershire 342 & 17-1 v Gloucestershire 482 & 175-3 dec

    Middlesex 298 v Derbyshire 283 & 97-4

    Northamptonshire 413-9 dec v Glamorgan 467 & 95-3

  9. Division Two updatepublished at 12:39 British Summer Time

    Kent 293 & 240-7 v Lancs 284

Matt Quinn doesn't fancy trying to defend a slender lead on the final afternoon and has whacked four fours to move to 19* from 10 balls to swell Kent's advantage to 249.

Ekansh Singh has 41* at the other end, from a mere 109 balls, and has hit fewer boundaries than the big seamer.

Given the Red Rose' attacking talent, and 64 overs remaining in the day, Kent will want to eat up overs and get that lead past 300 to avoid the prospect of a defeat which looked an outside possibility yesterday afternoon.

    20 minutes until lunch.

  10. Lunch at Lord'spublished at 12:39 British Summer Time

    Middx 298 v Derbys 283 & 97-4

Third-placed Derbyshire lead by 82 at lunch after a testing morning at the home of cricket, during which they lost three wickets.

Luis Reece and Wayne Madsen went in successive overs and Olly Stone then bowled Harry Came via the inside edge, his first wicket since joining Middlesex on loan.

Brooke Guest is 36 not out but it is hard to see anything other than a draw in this game with only two sessions to go.

  11. Lunch at Northamptonpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time

    Northants 413-9 dec v Glam 467 & 95-3

Steady progress from Glamorgan, scoring at just beyond three an over to earn a lead of 149.

A draw is the most likely result from here, especially if rain returns.

  12. Lunch at New Roadpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time

Notts 91-6 - target 136 to beat Worcs

Nasty ball from Tom Taylor. Short, quick and Lyndon James took one hand off the bat trying to play it.

The balled jammed into his other hand and no doubt jarred the handle.

One more over before lunch, to be bowled by Khurram Shahzad.

An LBW shout is turned down. Too leg side and that's a leg bye.

Over to Liam-Patterson-White. He drives down the ground for one.

Another short ball incoming for James? Length so far.

The fifth ball keeps low and James dabs it down.

The last ball is safely tapped to leg for no run and that's lunch.

Notts lose 5-51 in a fraught passage of play where the Pears attack have hardly offered anything to hit on a slowing pitch.

The afternoon forecast is grim and a nervous 40 minutes of lunch and weather-watching awaits.

  13. Lunch at Leicesterpublished at 4 overs

    Leics 342 & 17-1 v Glos 482 & 175-3 dec

Matt Taylor lures Rishi Patel into attempting a cover drive well away from his body in the final over before lunch, but although the Leicestershire batter keeps it on the deck, he can't pierce the field.

It's a maiden and the Division Two leaders go into lunch needing to score another 299 to win this game - although a draw could also be enough to see them promoted this afternoon.

Gloucestershire declared after adding 165 to their overnight 10-0, thanks to some enterprising batting by Ben Charlesworth and Joe Phillips.

Charlesworth hit three sixes in his 61 off 56 balls and Phillips was 69 not out when the declaration came.

  14. Lunch at The Ovalpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire 7-0 - target 390

Alex Davies and Rob Yates negotiate the tricky mini-session without undue alarm.

71 overs remain in the day for Surrey to find 10 wickets, or for the visitors to find 383 runs.

The morning will be remembered for Dom Sibley limping out at eight having retired hurt on 64* to amass his fourth century of the summer in style.

Whatever you do, don't miss the afternoon session.

  15. Lunch at Chelmsfordpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time

    Essex 457-8dec v Durham 333 & 63-4

Essex's morning by a country mile.

Ollie Robinson has come in and hit 11* from 14 balls while Colin Ackermann gets off the mark just before lunch and has 1* from 19.

Durham trail by 61 runs and have a lot of work to do to avoid an innings defeat, let alone save the game, with 65 overs remaining in the day.

They might well need the aid of late-afternoon rain if they are to escape with a draw.

  16. Postpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time

Notts 89-6 - target 136 to beat Worcs

That last ball from Khurram Shahzad cut back quite sharply, and mercifully for Notts misses the sticks.

Back to Tom Taylor. Lyndon James drives straight and hits the stumps at the other end - without Taylor touching the ball first.

Driven again and this ball hits Liam Patterson-White on the leg guards.

    no run.

James gloves the last ball wide of slip for one to end the over.

Is that it? The physio is coming on...

  17. 'All results still possible'published at 12:30 British Summer Time

    Warwickshire 6-0 - target 390

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

Warwickshire are making pretty slow progress towards target and Surrey are yet to make progress towards bowling them out in terms of wickets.

    All results still possible.

  18. Division Two updatepublished at 12:30 British Summer Time

    Kent 293 & 216-7 v Lancs 284

Two in three balls for Mitch Stanley, who is eyeing a 10-fer in the match.

He pins Mo Rizvi for nought and then bowls Matt Parkinson for a two-ball duck.

Kent lead by 226 with Ekansh Singh on 40* and Matt Quinn now at the crease.

Nervy times with 66 overs remaining in the day and no word as to whether Ben Compton will be able to bat.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2.3 overs

    Budinger c M Taylor b Singh Dale 14 (Leics 17-1 - target 316)

    Sol BudingerImage source, Rex

Short one from Ajeet Singh Dale, pulled for four by Sol Budinger.

The left-hander likes to give the ball a thump but a wild slash at the next one is reckless and Matt Taylor doesn't have to move very far to take the catch in front of his chest at deep third man.

  20. Postpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time

Notts 88-6 - target 136 to beat Worcs

Khurram Shahzad is going round the wicket to Liam Patterson-White, who misses with a flashing drive aimed at cover.

Now LPW leaves the ball on length.

Shahzad adjusts his line and LP blocks on the back foot into the on side.

The seventh wicket partnership is worth five in seven overs.

It is not easy - as LPW plays and misses the last ball from the crease, which scuttles past leg stump.
