Summary

A change of bowler at both ends as Hardik Pandya replaces Harshit Rana.

His first over features a couple of off-side wides, while Jaker Ali adds a single.

That's the end of the powerplay - just about India's, I reckon.

That catch is as simple as it gets. It wasn't going too fast at all.

Bangladesh have been given a life.

The skipper puts down the hat-trick chance!

This is a nightmare for Bangladesh. Axar Patel came in, left arm around the wicket, angled the ball in nicely. Mushfiqur Rahim just tried to get bat on ball.

A lovely bit of turn and bounce from Patel and great from Rohit Sharma to bring his left-arm spinner in early. He's rewarded for it.

    Mushfiqur c Rahul b Axar 0 (Ban 35-5)

Another edge - Axar is on a hat-trick!

A bizarre passage of play. KL Rahul knew it was out straight away; Axar Patel didn't really appeal at all. It was a thick outside edge but Patel didn't hear it.

Tanzid was by far the best batter for Bangladesh so far and his team now are in a real tough situation.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.2 overs

    Tanzid c Rahul b Axar 25 (Ban 35-4)

A first change of bowler for India, and it brings another wicket!

Spinner Axar Patel enters the attack and Tanzid edges behind to KL Rahul, who's standing up.

The umpire takes an age to raise the finger, but he was right to do so - replays confirm there was a healthy edge.

There was a noise but KL Rahul was having none of it much to Kohli's and Rana's disgust. You can see the clear gap on the replay.

KL Rahul is very good at judging when is best to review and he's usually correct.

  11. Ban 35-3published at 8 overs

Harshit Rana thinks he has Bangladesh in further trouble as KL Rahul collects the ball behind the stumps.

Has Towhid edged behind? Nothing from the umpire and Rahul says it's come off the pad, so India won't review.

Towhid follows up with a three through mid-wicket, before Tanzid chips over mid-on, seeing the ball dribble to the boundary.

Is it time to look for Bangladesh's lowest ODI total yet? It is 58 - which they've been skittled for twice in Mirpur. Once by West Indies in 2011 and then again by India in 2014.

  14. Ban 27-3published at 7 overs

Towhid Hridoy is the next man up for Bangladesh.

He faces three dots from Shami before taking a single past backward point to retain the strike.

Another big drive from back of length, Mehidy wasn't able to get onto the front foot. It's great captaincy from Rohit Sharma to keep Shubman Gill in at first slip. It came at good pace to him and he did well to hold onto it.

A terrible start for Bangladesh, India are all over them.

    Decent grab!

Mohammad Shami has his second wicket as Mehidy sends a flying edge towards the cordon.

Shubman Gill's the fielder there and he makes an impressive catch, reacting swiftly to take a catch to his right.

Bangladesh in deep trouble, having chosen to bat.

A four apiece for Bangladesh's batters as Tanzid launches a swift delivery from Mohammad Shami over the mid-on ropes and Mehidy gets off the mark with a well-timed drive through the covers.

Consensus at the toss was that this was quite a good batting pitch - signs of that, perhaps.

Great bowling from Harshit. India have long been on the lookout for fast bowlers who you can also depend on to provide some runs lower down the order.

It's been smart bowling to go with the slower ball early, so you don't become too predictable. Those change-ups are really important.
