  1. Postpublished at 16 overs

    Leics 69-2 v Glos 482

Ajeet Singh Dale really has put his heart and soul into this post-lunch spell and has been unfortunate not to pick up a wicket.

That one, though, is too short and wide and Ian Holland cracks it away for four. He then takes a single, leaving Lewis Hill to duck a bouncer at the end of the over.

  2. Postpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 133-5

Matthew Waite bowls a tidy line and length to Kyle Verreynne, who blocks down the ground.

    Maiden over.

New Road is looking a bit cloudy, albeit the sun is still just about visible.

  3. Batting point for Somersetpublished at 82 overs

    Somerset 250-4 v Yorks

Good ball from George Hill, but Tom Abell tickles it round the corner to backward square leg and a single takes the Somerset total to 250. Still just the one wicket has fallen today.

  4. Postpublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 11-2

Ali Orr gets a couple of runs off Jaydev Unadkat, clipping the bowler leg side.

Orr is squared up a bit as he shapes to drive off side but the ball lands safely.

    The lead is 115.

  5. Postpublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 9 September

    Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 221-9

A few spits and spots of light rain at The Oval as some of those late summer showers bubble up to the west of the capital.

The last thing Surrey want is a delay.

They have maximum bowling points but they'd love to whip the last one out and begin to build a second-innings lead.

  6. Postpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 133-5

Khurram Shahzad is into his 14th over of the innings and Lyndon James gratefully clips a rare leg side ball away for four.

The innings gap dips down to 49.

  7. Postpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 9 September

    Essex 78-1 v Durham 333

Definite change of intent from the hosts, who have added 29 runs in short order since lunch with two boundaries apiece for Dean Elgar (44*) and Tom Westley (28*).

Elgar sucks his teeth after wafting at the final ball of Sam Conners' latest over outside off stump, however.

  8. 'Patel never quite convinced'published at 13:36 British Summer Time 9 September

    Leics 56-2 v Glos 482

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

James Bracey was right to go with Josh Shaw rather than Matt Taylor it would appear.

Rishi Patel's innings wasn't a tortured innings as such but he never really looked in touch by the standards that he has reached in season. He never quite convinced out there.

  9. Postpublished at 13:34 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 9-2

How to score runs on this pitch?

Jaydev Unadkat beats the bat of Toby Albert, hooping the ball in from outside the off stump.

Ollie Robinson is in his third over and he thinks he has Ali Orr caught down the leg side but the ball did not hit the bat and runs past keeper John Simpson for a bye.

Four slips in for Toby Albert, who is able to leave safely outside off.

Robinson gets one to seam in from back of a length and fizz just over the stumps.

  10. 'A big wicket for Worcestershire'published at 13:32 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 128-5

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Khurram Shahzad bowled a lot of overs this morning, didn't get any success but he picks up a key wicket of Joe Clarke in the first over after lunch.

To be fair, Joe Clarke probably will be a little bit annoyed with himself that he maybe didn't have to play at that but it wasn't that wide, it just did a little bit away from him.

A big wicket for Worcestershire at the start of the afternoon.

  11. 50 runs

for Tom Abellpublished at 67.3 overs

    Somerset 242-4 v Yorks

A little bit of turn there for Dan Moriarty, but a thick edge by Tom Abell runs most - but not all - of the way down to the third man boundary and three runs take him to a 188-ball half-century.

It's the seventh time he has passed 50 this season - only one of the previous six was converted into a hundred.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 9 September

    Patel c O Price b Shaw 19 (Leics 54-2 v Glos 482)

You have to say that has been coming.

A little of extra bounce for Josh Shaw, perhaps, and Rishi Patel edges into the midriff of Ollie Price at second slip.

Lewis Hill is the new batter.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 9 September

    Clarke c Roderick b Shahzad 34 (Worcs 182 v Notts 121-5)

Khurram Shahzad strikes second ball after lunch!

Joe Clarke does not add to his pre-lunch score and his reprieve on 17 this morning has not been costly.

Great delivery, drawing Clarke forward into a loose defensive waft, edging to the keeper.

A much deserved wicket for Shahzad, who was outstanding this morning without reward and he will now bowl to Lyndon James.

  14. 'That's changed the mood'published at 13:26 British Summer Time 9 September

    Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 2-2

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

That's got Sussex's tails up, it's got the crowd going and all of a sudden what's not been a great morning for Sussex with the bat has just changed the mood on the ground.

  15. Play resumes at New Roadpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 9 September

    Worcs 182 v Notts 121-4

The Pears may yet be in the contest with an early strike here.

Notts still 61 adrift as they try to keep pressure on Championship rivals and division leaders Surrey.

Joe Clarke is 34 not out and he takes guard to Khurram Shahzad.

Kyle Verreynne began his knock just before the break ad he starts at the other end on one.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 9 September

    Young c Foakes b Worrall 72 - Surrey 246 v Warwickshire 216-9

Ben Foakes doing Ben Foakes things.

Dan Worrall finds the edge of Will Young's bat and Foakes makes a stunning catch diving low to his right, somehow getting the webbing of his glove under the ball before it hits the turf.

    Amazing stuff.

Young goes for a fine 72 from 166 balls across nearly four-and-a-half hours at the crease.

Debutant Nathan Gilchrist joins Ollie Hannon-Dalby in the middle.

    Bears trail by 30.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 9 September

    Gubbins c Coles b Unadkat 0 (Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 2-2)

Vicious delivery taking off and moving away on a length. Play that!

Nick Gubbins did his best to evade the delivery, but Jaydev Unadkat is irresistible in this over, taking two scalps in three balls.

Gubbins shoulders arms and half turns to the off side but the ball follows him to brush the face of the bat on the way to second slipper James Coles.

Toby Albert is in early at four.

  18. Postpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 9 September

    Somerset 235-4 v Yorks

A maiden over begins the afternoon session at Taunton.

Having just taken a look at Weather Radar, there is quite a lot of wet stuff massing over the west country.

  19. Postpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 9 September

    Essex 61-1 v Durham 333

    Game of inches, cricket.

Matt Potts so nearly strangles Dean Elgar down the leg side as the opener follows the moving ball and gets a faint edge, but it's just out of the grasp of Ollie Robinson diving to his right and races away for four runs.

Positive intent from the batters since the resumption. They will want to push for bonus points well before any threat of weather plays a role in this match.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time 9 September

    Middleton b Unadkat 1 (Sussex 122 v Hants 226 & 2-1)

Three slips in. Bowled him with his third ball!

off stump ripped out of the ground and Sussex strike early.

Superb delivery from Jaydev Unadkat, quick, angling in and a touch of away movement.

Not much Fletcha Middleton could have done about that, surely.

Over to Nick Gubbins, in at three for Hampshire.
