Ross Allen broke through to give Guernsey FC a first-half lead

Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance struggled to hide his frustration as his side let another lead slip in their 1-1 draw with Corinthian Casuals.

Record goalscorer Ross Allen returned after three months out to give the Green Lions a 30th-minute lead.

Sam Murray missed a good chance to make it 2-0 before Koshem Murtra-Eribuwa equalised in the 82nd minute.

It was the fifth time this season Guernsey have dropped points after conceding in the latter stages.

Metropolitan Police scored a late goal to secure a 1-1 draw at Footes Lane late last month while Ashford Town, Marlow and Sutton Common Rovers have all beaten Guernsey thanks to late strikes.

The loss leaves Guernsey second-from-bottom of Isthmian League South Central.

"I'm disappointed and frustrated," Vance told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"We were the better team, there's no doubt about that, and we should be having three points, but we haven't.

"Some people will be doom and gloom because it's not a win, but we're playing well, there's no real teams that are just battering us.

"The one thing I know is when we play these teams is they don't want to score the perfect goal, they just want to smash it in the back of the net from anywhere and everywhere, and that's what they did today.

"We seem to always want to try and score the perfect goal or nice goals, which is lovely, but it's not ruthless."

Vance was quick to praise striker Murray, who has scored just once in 12 appearances for Guernsey this season.

"We score goals as a team and we defend goals as a team, but I thought he was brilliant and he really deserves a goal and it's not happening for him at the moment.

"He had his chance, Charlton [Gauvain] had a chance, Ross had a chance, you've just got to keep plugging away.

"I know it sounds silly, but just keep going. When you're down in this situation you try too hard and everyone's probably trying that bit too hard, when perhaps you've just got unleash one and hope it goes in."
