Jersey Bulls manager Gary Freeman says his side must be more ruthless despite a 4-0 win over Sheerwater.

Francis Lekimamati's powerful effort from outside the box gave the islanders a 1-0 lead at the break, but Freeman's side missed a host of chances.

Luke Watson headed in a second from close range with 22 minutes to go.

Fraser Barlow got Bulls' third five minutes later before Miguel Carvalho rounded off the win with his first goal of the season two minutes from the end.

"If we are going to do what we want to do this year you've got to go and kill teams, and possibly a slightly stronger team than Sheerwater you let them in at 1-0 and they're still in the game," Freeman told BBC Radio Jersey.

"We've had it here plenty of times before where you get hit on the counter late on, so we've got to be more ruthless.

"4-0 looks great, it could have been a lot more, but it's more the first half that's the frustration in that we didn't go and do what we had to do."

The victory keeps Jersey Bulls third in Combined Counties Premier Division South while Sheerwater remain second from bottom.

Freeman's side are level on points with second-placed Knaphill, who have two games in hand, and four off leaders Farnham Town who have won all 13 of their games this season.

"You can see the league's going to be very tight, we're going to have to keep winning games and we've got two or three more league games now that we want to make sure we get more points in," added Freeman.

"We've got the FA Vase next week which is a big game for us to have something to look forward to in the new year.

"They're big games leading up to Christmas, we've got to try and win them all."
