  3. 'Dunne an important character and player' - Cifuentespublished at 18:06 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: QPR 3-0 Norwich

    QPR

QPR head coach Marti Cifuentes told BBC Radio London:

“It’s been too long [since a home win] but it came at an important moment against a very good team.

On Jimmy Dunne losing his father this week: “This has made the group stronger. They were supportive towards Jimmy, who is an important character and player for us and the way the group reacted to this tragedy says a lot about what kind of dressing room we have.

“We are at base camp but unfortunately there are a lot more camps to come. That’s the challenge of the Championship, it’s such a long league, and you go through good and bad moments.

“Today we capitalised on our chances and were really good in key moments of the game, while against Hull it was just the opposite.”

  4. 'Frustrating and disappointing'published at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: Portsmouth 3-0 Bristol City

    Bristol City

Bristol City manager Liam Manning told BBC Radio Bristol:

"We were second best in most things which hasn't been like us. I'd be the first to defend the lads if I think we perform to a level but we didn't hit that today in most areas.

"Irrespective of results, the lads had hit a consistent run of games so like I said, it was really frustrating and disappointing.

"It's just a bit around decision making, in really tough conditions against a team that want to press which makes it even harder."

  5. Coming up on Sunday...published at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

West Brom v Sheff Utd (15:00 GMT)

There's a bumper game at the top end of the table tomorrow.

West Brom, in eighth, host second-placed Sheffield United.

A point would take the Blades back to the summit.

We'll have all the action on the BBC Sport website and app.

  6. 'You can see we are easy to score against'published at 17:52 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: QPR 3-0 Norwich

    Norwich City

Norwich head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup told BBC Radio Norfolk:

“It’s something we need to talk about, how we can be so off, and invite so many difficult moments. Respect to QPR, they're fighting for the points at the moment but it’s not like we were outplayed at any moment.

“We handled simple duels really badly, and at setpieces we were not aware and paying the attention required.

“You can’t come back from two or three goals down, it’s simply too difficult. We need to address it because there’s too big a difference in level [to recent games].

“You can see we are easy to score against. It doesn’t take more than a corner kick to score against us and it’s simply not good enough.”

  7. 'Today we struggled' - Harrispublished at 17:47 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: Millwall 0-1 Coventry

    Millwall

Millwall manager Neil Harris told BBC Radio London:

"I thought first half we were the better team, but lacked a cutting edge and a couple of chances we did have we put over the bar or wide.

"Second half I thought Coventry were better than us until right at the end.

"I thought the last five minutes summed us up as a group really - we got into really good areas, just lacked the quality to hurt teams at this level.

"That's where we've always searched as a football club, and we've had it so many times this year where we've had the quality and the expected goals has been really high.

"Today we struggled, and at the end of the game a final moment - the ball comes into the box and I've got my centre forward and wide player standing outside the penalty area."

  8. Lampard 'pleased with character and personality' of teampublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: Millwall 0-1 Coventry

    Coventry

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard told BBC Radio CWR:

"The first half was a bit slow from us, it's not easy to come here and the conditions were obviously very difficult.

"But there were things we could have done which we didn't do which made it difficult in the first half, it was a bit passive from us.

"But we got some messages across at half time and I'm really, really proud of them - we played quicker, created chances and probably should have been two up before that last five to 10 minutes when we had to suffer a bit.

"But really pleased with the character, really pleased with the personality of the team and it's a nice win.

"It's a small step forward because there's a lot to do, but we're very happy."

Stoke City boss Narcis Pelach told BBC Radio Stoke:

"After all the effort it was disappointing to lose at the end to a deflection goal.

"The players felt they deserved more. We are close to the next step.

"A lot of teams suffer here - but we are very pleased with the way we competed."

  13. 'Disappointed we haven't taken all three points'published at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: Sheff Wed 1-1 Preston

    Preston North End

Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"I was delighted with lots of the football the lads are producing obviously under difficult conditions but frustrated is probably the word and disappointed that we haven't taken all three points.

"It'll be a hard one to watch back for the fact that we'll probably rue a few things but as I keep saying, a lot of good things.

"I was watching it (Wednesday penalty) through my fingers because how it comes about. It's frustrating because you're thinking if it (Potts chance) comes to haunt us and then seconds later it's a penalty kick but Freddie pulled off a great save and the follow up as well, so we're pleased with that."

  14. 'We deserved nothing today'published at 17:26 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: Sheff Wed 1-1 Preston

    Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl toldBBC Radio Sheffield:

"For me it's a defeat. We deserved nothing today.

"They created more chances, they were the better team, they were more aggressive, they did the basics better than us.

"For me it's a shame to see the first 10 to 15 minutes, how we started the game."

  15. 'We didn't really do anything with the ball'published at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Derby

    Derby County

Paul Warne on the touchlineImage source, Rex Features

Derby County boss Paul Warne told BBC Radio Derby:

"We came into it knowing it would be a tough one, I don't think there's any shame that we haven't come away with a win.

"Defensively we were pretty good, limited them to very few chances in the first half - you've got to quieten the crowd down - but when we got the ball, we didn't really do anything with it.

"This is a very good team that made it difficult for us when we had the ball. Every single one of the players is quicker than ours.

"I don't know, apart from being tidier on the ball, how we were going to create a chance - I know that sounds negative, but that's the truth."

  16. 'This is our way, we find solutions'published at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Derby

    Leeds United

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke told BBC Radio Leeds:

"For the first 10, 15 minutes, we were a bit hectic in our decision making but after that we were all over them, didn't allow them to have one chance.

"We created many chances and could and should have scored a few more, but overall it was a pretty dominant performance and to deliver this after an unlucky loss (at Blackburn) makes me pretty happy.

"We were struggling with a few injuries during the game, but you couldn't see at all that this affected us - this is our way at the moment, we find solutions."
