Harvey Cartwright kept Boreham Wood at bay as 10-man Hartlepool held on for a point in a goalless draw.
The visitors enjoyed the better of the first half but could not find a breakthrough, with Matt Rush, Luke Norris and Eric Sousa all denied by Pools goalkeeper Cartwright.
Hartlepool had defender Max Kouogun sent off after 54 minutes for bringing down Norris as the striker looked to race clear and Boreham Wood piled on the pressure.
Norris saw a close-range effort blocked by the legs of Cartwright in the 64th minute as they continued to spurn chances, but Nathan Ashmore was called into action at the other end with six minutes remaining as he kept out a fierce drive from Besart Topallaj.
