    Commentator on BBC Radio Humberside

The Tigers are still in the game at 1-1. Huge sigh of relief.

  2. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 1-1 Hull City

Victor Torp's spot kick is saved by Ivor Pandur!

The Coventry midfielder puts it low to the goalkeeper's left but Pandur dives well to save and gets up quickly to pounce on the loose ball.

A huge chance goes begging for the Sky Blues.

  3. PENALTY TO COVENTRYpublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 1-1 Hull City

Charlie Hughes brings down Norman Bassette in the area and it's a penalty to Coventry!

Bassette touches it past him and Hughes slides in, making a blatant foul.

Chance for the Sky Blues to take the lead.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:55 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 1-1 Hull City

Coventry's Norman Bassette spins Charlie Hughes out on the touchline and the Hull defender brings him down.

That's about as blatant as they come and no complaints from Hughes as he goes into the book.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:54 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

And now Leeds make some changes.

Brenden Aaronson and Willy Gnonto are off and Patrick Bamford and Largie Ramazani are on.

About 26 minutes plus time added on to go in this.

A point would send Leeds back to the top of the table, albeit probably temporarily.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 1-1 Hull City

Hull City nearly regain the lead! Ryan Longman goes on a brilliant weaving run, cuts inside on his right foot and curls one to the far corner from just inside the box.

It's goalbound but Brad Collins gets down well in the Coventry goal to tip it behind.

The hosts are able to clear the corner before Regan Slater fires well over from distance.

North End are standing firm against Leeds and are making chances on the counter-attack.

  8. goal

Bristol City 1-1 QPRpublished at 13:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    (Paul Smyth 65 mins)

Rangers are level with an audacious chip by Paul Smyth from just inside the Bristol City half!

It came on the counter-attack, with Jonathan Varane clearing the ball upfield from a Robins corner and for reasons best known to himself, Max O'Leary hared out to the halfway line to challenge Smyth for possession.

Cool head from the Northern Ireland international, who evades O'Leary and then sends a perfectly-judged finish sailing into the net from a long way out.

Incredibly, that's QPR's first shot at goal all afternoon - and what a memorable one it was.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 1-1 Hull City

Hull have made a couple of changes. Ryan Giles and former Coventry man Kasey Palmer have been replaced by Matty Jacob and Marvin Mehlem.

  10. Postpublished at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Preston DO cross the halfway line and they maybe should have a second goal.

A ball is crossed into the middle for Emi Riis, just on as a sub, but he can only direct his effort straight at Illan Meslier in the Leeds goal.

Preston go to their bench for the second time today.

Emil Riis is on for Will Keane and Duane Holmes is on for Robbie Brady.

The home side have barely made it across the halfway line this half.

    (Scott Twine 60 mins)

That's what you call an inspired substitution!

Sam Field gave away a free-kick on the edge of the QPR penalty area and Bristol City immediately sent on Scott Twine in place of Yu Hirakawa.

Twine's first touch was to curl the free-kick sweetly over the wall and into the corner of the net, with Rangers goalkeeper Paul Nardi nowhere near it.

Relief for the home fans - their side have certainly deserved this lead.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Few more ironic cheers from the Leeds fans as Preston striker Milutin Osmajic is booked for persistent fouling.

I think they think that one's a little overdue...

  14. Postpublished at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Freddie Woodman is finally forced into a save in the home goal but Joel Piroe's effort is as tame as it comes.

Leeds come again though and Joe Rothwell crashes a bouncing ball over the bar.

    Preston can't get out.

  15. Postpublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Leeds win a free-kick down their right after a meaty challenge by Robbie Brady sends Dan James up into the air.

The away side can't fashion a chance from Joe Rothwell's ball.

They've had loads of the possession today but Freddie Woodman hasn't had his gloves warmed yet in the home goal.

  16. CLOSEpublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Bristol City 0-0 QPR

Sometimes matches can morph into a completely different pattern during the second half.

This hasn't been one of those since the resumption. By and large, QPR are still sitting deep and inviting Bristol City to attack.

And a defensive lapse almost gifted Nahki Wells the opener, with Harrison Ashby misjudging his header back to Paul Nardi and the former QPR striker nipped in - only to steer the ball agonisingly wide of Nardi's left-hand post.

I'm not sure how he's been allowed to score there.

Once again the Tigers can't stop teams scoring against them.

    Ephron Mason-Clark (52 mins)

Frank Lampard looks on from the dugoutImage source, rex

    All square again!

Victor Torp plays in a phenomenal ball from the right across the face of goal and Ephron Mason-Clark rushes in at the back post to bundle it home in bizarre fashion off his chest.

Fair to say Coventry deserve to be level after their dominance in the first half.

    Game well and truly on.

  19. Postpublished at 13:41 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 0-1 Hull City

Hull City drive forward on the break down the right with Mason Burstow who then drifts into the box and fizzes a ball across the face of goal but Joao Pedro doesn't gamble and it goes all the way through.

A promising moment for the Tigers goes to waste.

  20. Postpublished at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 0-1 Hull City

Coventry are straight back on the front foot in this second half and they win an early corner after more good work by Ephron Mason-Clark.

There's a clash of heads in the area between Bobby Thomas and Hull's Sean McLoughlin and the ref stops play.
