    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Preston win a cheap corner down their right and pile men into the box.

Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier manages to punch it away under pressure.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:37 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 0-1 Hull City

Hull City have made a change at the break.

Chelsea loanee Mason Burstow is on in place of Abu Kamara.

HIGHLY unsurprisingly change for the home side at the break.

Skipper Ben Whiteman, who was lucky to escape a second yellow for a poor tackle on Jayden Bogle, is off and Stefan Thordarson is on.

We're back under way in Lancashire.

Also back playing in Coventry where they trail Hull City 1-0.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:33 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Bristol City 0-0 QPR

No changes by Liam Manning at the break, but QPR have turned to their bench to introduce some fresh legs up front.

Alfie Lloyd replaces Rayan Kolli, who battled hard but was starved of any real service, for the second half.

  5. Chapter ends in one of football's great romancespublished at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Middlesbrough v Millwall (15:00 GMT)

    Neil HarrisImage source, Rex Features

A bit later on today, the latest chapter in one of English football's longest romances draw to a close.

Neil Harris' partnership with Millwall began more than 26 years ago.

Since then the world has entered a new millennium, Usain Bolt has become the fastest person in human history and broken his own record twice, a website called YouTube was created and the England men's football team still haven't won a major tournament.

While at The Den, Harris has cemented himself as an undisputed club legend across five separate stints as a player and head coach.

But when the full-time whistle sounds on Saturday following their Championship game at Middlesbrough, Harris will depart as boss for a second time.

    Bottom 10 of the Championship

What a difference a goal makes? Hull City have climbed four places from bottom up to 20th as things stand after Joao Pedro's opener.

They are currently just two points behind Coventry, albeit the Tigers have played two more games than the four sides below them.

It pushes Portsmouth into the bottom three, while QPR have gone above Luton to 16th on goal difference as they're goalless at Bristol at the break.

Of course, it could be all change again in 45 minutes time...

    HT: Preston 1-0 Leeds

    Jon Newsome
Former Leeds defender on BBC Radio Leeds

The referee is out there to do a job and he's not done that today.

It was a reckless challenge, it was high and dangerous. It was at least a yellow card, there is no reason he can give not to have sent him off for a second yellow.

Preston captain Ben Whiteman's tackle on Jayden Bogle is a major talking point from that first half.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 0-1 Hull City

Well, well, well. Quite how Hull City are ahead in this game is anybody’s guess. But you could argue it’s the perfect half away from home for the Tigers.

Coventry’s performance has had pretty much everything but a goal in the first half and it was one-way traffic until Joao Pedro guided the visitors in front shortly before the break.

Frank Lampard's side have been made to rue their dominance and Ruben Selles will be absolutely delighted to go in 1-0 up at the break.

Work to do in the second period for the Sky Blues.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 0-1 Hull City

Hull's Joao Pedro goes into the book for a high arm on Luis Binks.

  10. Postpublished at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 0-1 Hull City

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

They've got to come out with a positive attitude. They've had opportunities, but there are things to improve on.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Bristol City 0-0 QPR

Let's just say Max O'Leary, in the Bristol City goal, has been a virtual spectator throughout the first period.

City almost found a way through with the last move of the half, as a free-kick found the head of Nahki Wells but his attempt was nodded off the line by Sam Field.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

    Lot going on in this.

The home side took the lead through Brad Potts' finish on the counter-attack.

The away side have had much the better of the possession either side of that but haven't been able to work Freddie Woodman in the Preston goal yet.

Home skipper Ben Whiteman is lucky to still be on the field after escaping a second yellow for a poor tackle on Jayden Bogle.

Big second half to come as Leeds look to turn this around and go back of the table.

  13. Postpublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Leeds win a corner as we head into a minimum of two minutes of stoppage time before the break.

Joe Rothwell sends one into the near post and the home side get it clear.

The ball is recycled and Sam Byram heads over.

  14. Postpublished at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 0-1 Hull

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City player on BBC Radio Humberside

Where that's come from, I have no idea. But that's exactly what we need.

  15. goal

GOAL: Coventry 0-1 Hull Citypublished at 13:14 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Joao Pedro (44 mins)

Hull City take the lead against the run of play!

Abu Kamara floats a ball to the back stick for Ryan Longman who heads against the post from close-range.

It drops to Joao Pedro eight yards out who does well to react and guide it into the empty net.

Coventry City have paid the ultimate price for not capitalising on their dominance.

  16. Postpublished at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

    Jon Newsome
Former Leeds defender on BBC Radio Leeds

It's very, very close to boiling over.

The referee has lost control and, in my opinion, he bottled sending off the Preston man.

Preston skipper Ben Whiteman escaped a second yellow for a foul on Jayden Bogle.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:11 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Dan James is in the book for Leeds for kicking the ball at a prone Milutin Osmajic.

This game is getting very tetchy.

  18. Postpublished at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Coventry 0-0 Hull City

Hull finally have their first shot of the game in the 39th minute.

It's a long ball over the top for Abu Kamara who hits it from the left edge of the area but it's straight at the keeper.

  19. Postpublished at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Joel Piroe's free-kick is blocked and comes to nothing for Leeds.

They are absolutely incandescent that Ben Whiteman has not been sent off for the home side and replays show they've got a fair point.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2024

    Preston 1-0 Leeds

Ben Whiteman you lucky, lucky boy.

The Preston skipper had been booked just a few minutes ago and he is pulled up for going through Jayden Bogle 20 yards out. Not a good challenge.

The referee decides that just a word is sufficient on this occasion.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke is booked for his own protestations.
