He couldn't wait to give it! He loves giving penalties, this ref.

Three goals in nine minutes and Liverpool are in control in Germany.

Estevao makes no mistake as he beats Remko Pasveer, who is 23 years older than him, from the spot. Almost into the top corner. Great kick.

    Chelsea 3-1 Ajax

Enzo Fernandez gives the ball to Estevao to take the kick.

  5. Postpublished at 20:50 BST 22 October

    Eintracht Frankfurt 1-3 Liverpool

It's the first time Liverpool have scored three first half goals since December 2024. And their 3,000 travelling fans in Germany are lapping it up.

This has been a performance full of character by the Reds.

  6. PENALTY TO CHELSEApublished at 20:49 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 3-1 Ajax

This referee just loves pointing to the spot. Youri Baas fouls Estevao at the second attempt, and Chelsea have their second penalty.

  7. Goalless in Madrid at the breakpublished at 20:49 BST 22 October

    HT: Real Madrid 0-0 Juventus

There hasn't been too much to report on in Madrid.

Real Madrid have had lots of possession, and Kylian Mbappe has had the best chance of the half.

But the Juventus defence is holding on, and Real Madrid could really do with upping the tempo in this second half.

Better tell Big Sam he’s no longer needed at Liverpool.

    Chelsea 3-1 Ajax

Wout Weghorst is the third player to score a penalty and concede a penalty in a Champions League match, along with Memphis Depay (Lyon v Juventus in August 2020) and Hakan Calhanoglu (Inter v Feyenoord in March 2025).

    Ibrahima Konaté (44 mins)

A third for Liverpool before the break!

Ibrahima Konate gets it and it is another set-piece as he powers home a header from a corner.

What a turnaround by the Reds.

Kevin Danso heads a chance over for Tottenham.

  13. Postpublished at 20:46 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 3-1 Ajax

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

At first glance I thought he timed it to perfection he takes ball and man.

There was no hesitation. Weghorst is amazed.

  14. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 3-1 Ajaxpublished at 20:45 BST 22 October

    Enzo Fernandez (45 mins)

Chelsea are two goals to the good again. Remko Pasveer goes the right way but can't stop Enzo Fernandez's penalty into the corner.

  15. Postpublished at 20:44 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 2-1 Ajax

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

You have to give Ajax credit because they have put a level of doubt into this game.

Chelsea were absolutely cruising at 2-0, but there is now a little bit of confidence in the Ajax side.

  16. Postpublished at 20:44 BST 22 October

    Eintracht Frankfurt 1-2 Liverpool

A word about Andy Robertson. His assist for Hugo Ekitike's goal was quality. The vision and the pass completely carved open the home defence. Vintage Robertson.

  17. PENALTY TO CHELSEApublished at 20:44 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 2-1 Ajax

Ajax striker Wout Weghorst scored a penalty, and now he concedes one as he clatters into Enzo Fernandez.

Two goals in four minutes. After a painful few weeks, some relief for Liverpool. But can they see the job through?

  19. Postpublished at 20:41 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 2-1 Ajax

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

It was a coming together between Weghorst and Tosin. They both went up for a header, Tosin accidentally catches him with this studs into his head.

  20. Postpublished at 20:41 BST 22 October

    Monaco 0-0 Tottenham

Good cross by Lucas Bergvall but Kevin Danso fouls his man before heading the ball - which is saved by the keeper anyway.
