Liverpool come from behind to beat Frankfurt in five-star performance

  1. PENALTY TO AJAXpublished at 20:31 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 2-0 Ajax

Tosin Adarabioyo fouls Raul Moro and suddenly Ajax have a penalty and a potential route back into this game.

  2. Postpublished at 20:31 BST 22 October

    Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 Liverpool

Liverpool have been here before. It usually ends with the Reds equalising and the opposition grabbing a winner.

    What will happen this time?

  3. Postpublished at 20:31 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 2-0 Ajax

Chelsea have won all 14 of their previous Champions League matches when they've gone 2-0 up inside the first 30 minutes.

  4. 'Their first attack'published at 20:30 BST 22 October

    Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

That was the first time Eintracht Frankfurt have attacked Liverpool... and they are ahead.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  5. Postpublished at 20:30 BST 22 October

    Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 Liverpool

Another game without a clean sheet for Liverpool.

By the way, that move for the goal included a pass which went through the legs of the referee.

The noise when the ball hit the back of the net was off the scale.

  6. Postpublished at 20:30 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 2-0 Ajax

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stamford Bridge

This is far too easy for Chelsea. We talked about their changes but it is not going to affect them.

This is the second time that Caicedo has been afforded the freedom of Stamford Bridge, from 25 yards out. His shot doesn't look like it is going to trouble the goalkeeper but it takes a big deflection.

Ajax look dejected and idealess. Those who were stood [in the away end] are now sat.

  7. Postpublished at 20:30 BST 22 October

    Monaco 0-0 Tottenham

Big chance for Monaco. Folarin Balogun races through but shoots straight at Guglielmo Vicario. The rebound hits Balogun but he can't turn it in.

Wow, that Frankfurt goal was stunning, from back to front, what a move!

    Chelsea 2-0 Ajax

It was Jamie Gittens who passed the ball to Moises Caicedo for that goal.

  10. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 2-0 Ajaxpublished at 20:27 BST 22 October

    Moises Caicedo (27 mins)

Probably too early to say game over, but not far off.

Moises Caicedo - in a million miles of space - hammers in a shot from 20 yards out which takes a big deflection off an Ajax player to wrongfoot the goalkeeper and go in.

  11. Postpublished at 20:26 BST 22 October

    Monaco 0-0 Tottenham

It's 5-1 on shots here. Spurs are having more of the ball but it's the hosts having the chances to score.

  12. Postpublished at 20:26 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 1-0 Ajax

Chelsea wonderkid Estevao cuts in from the right and has a shot blocked. The Blues could do with another goal or two just so they can properly cruise after the break.

    A sweeping Frankfurt move and....BANG!

Former Leeds United player Rasmus Kristensen fires through Andy Robertson's legs and past Giorgi Mamardashvili after a delightful home move.

It started after Florian Wirtz lost possession.

Apparently Thomas Frank is a tactical genius. I am yet to see any evidence of that at all. Other than hoping Kudus will do something special I can't see anything significantly better than last year.

  15. Postpublished at 20:25 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 1-0 Ajax

Ajax on the ropes here. Jamie Gittens beats his man and sees a cross blocked. From a corner moments later Moises Caicedo shoots wide.

  16. Postpublished at 20:24 BST 22 October

    Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Liverpool

Liverpool have adapted well since losing Jeremie Frimpong. They win another corner but it comes to nothing. There were fears the Reds might have a hangover after the Manchester United defeat.

In truth, it's been a pretty upbeat performance by Arne Slot's team.

  17. Marseille take lead against Sportingpublished at 20:24 BST 22 October

    Sporting CP 0-1 Marseille

Igor Paixao scores for MarseilleImage source, Getty Images

The visitors Marseille have opened the scoring against Sporting CP.

It was a great strike from Igor Paixao, whose curling effort from the edge of the box found the top corner.

The sides were level on points heading into this game, having both won one and lost one in the Champions League so far.

  18. Is it game over already at Stamford Bridge?published at 20:23 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 1-0 Ajax

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport Chelsea reporter

Ajax imploded in 1 minute and 17 seconds when their captain, Kenneth Taylor, was sent off and they conceded from the resulting free kick.

Ironically, Facundo Buonanotte—who had been fouled—took the free kick, which Wesley Fofana headed back across goal for Marc Guíu to tap in from close range.

Ajax are winless in three matches and in terrible form. Their fans seem angry as Oscar Gloukh is taken off for Jorthy Mokio.

Chelsea fans respond with chants of you're getting sacked in the morning to Arne Slot's former assistant John Heitinga, now in charge of the struggling Dutch giants.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:23 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 1-0 Ajax

Oscar Gloukh pays the price for his team-mate's red card as he's replaced by Jorthy Mokio in a tactical reshuffle for Ajax.

  20. 'Liverpool looking much more balanced'published at 20:22 BST 22 October

    Eintracht Frankfurt 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

So far, Liverpool have looked more in control than they have done recently, and the team looks much more balanced too.

Out of possession they have looked very structured. It's taken them a few minutes to get here, but they look like they are on top in the game and they will be hoping that seeing Frimpong go off doesn't change that.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.
