'You'll never beat Murillo' echoes around the City Ground as the defender shuts the door on Luis Diaz, ending what looked like a dangerous Liverpool break.

Well that is brilliant from Trent Alexander-Arnold, hitting a swerving pass with the outside of his boot about 50 yards over the top of the Forest defence for Luis Diaz to run onto. He has Mo Salah arriving on the overlap but decides to go on his own and loses the ball.

A bold call, you'd have to say.

Back under in west London. No changes for either side.

West Ham scored two goals from their two attempts in the first half.

Fulham, on the other hand, are yet to register a shot on target after eight efforts.

But in fairness, Marco Silva's side have hit the woodwork twice through Harry Wilson and Raul Jimenez.

Has anyone noticed that since Alisson came back Liverpool’s defence has looked shakier? Bring back Kelleher, the lad did good!

Trent has had the absurd-but-accurate title of "defender who can't defend" for years, Liverpool should have cashed in long ago before word got out any further

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Liverpool

Forest have only completed 60 passes tonight. Virgil van Dijk and Alexis Mac Allister have done 57.

Gameplan working a treat, in other words.

  10. Potter working his magic?published at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    HT: West Ham 2-0 Fulham

Graham Potter has never lost a Premier League game after leading by two goals or more at half time.

He's won all seven games he's been in that position previously.

West Ham have also not lost a Premier League game when they have led by two or more goals at the halfway point since a 3-2 defeat by Wigan Athletic in 2011.

  11. Postpublished at 20:29 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Liverpool

    Nick Mashiter
BBC Sport football news reporter at the City Ground

As you would expect, Forest are defending superbly and Liverpool have been restricted to shots from distance, Luis Diaz the latest to try his luck from 20 yards.

Like at Anfield, when Forest won 1-0 in September, Liverpool are yet to work out a way to breach Forest's defence - which has now conceded one fewer than them in the Premier League this season.

I wonder if Liverpool are regretting not taking the money for Trent now. Another game with him strolling around and letting the opposition do whatever they like.

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Liverpool

    Clinton Morrison
Former Republic of Ireland striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's been a good game. Liverpool are getting frustrated and they have to be patient.

You can't defend like this for the whole 90 minutes and gaps will appear.

    HT: Brentford 0-0 Man City

Manchester City may not be back but KDB could be - Kevin de Bruyne created five chances in the first half, only Dejan Kulusevski (six vs Man Utd in September) has created more in the opening 45 minutes of a Premier League game this season.

  19. Postpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

Good stout defending from Nikola Milenkovic clears away a testing cross from Andy Robertson. Liverpool looking to mix things up.

  20. 'Chelsea supreme'published at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    HT: Chelsea 1-0 Bournemouth

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Chelsea have looked supreme in all honesty. They have flooded forward at every opportunity and smothered the Bournemouth defence.

Bournemouth haven't seemed to be able to get their foot on the ball or get the high pressing going. The top and bottom of it is that they are missing a number nine up top.
