  4. Hair pulling controversy at Chelseapublished at 20:53 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Chelsea 1-0 Bournemouth

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Marc Cucurella's hair has already drawn heat from Southampton captain Jack Stephens in December.

Again, David Brooks is caught pulling the Spanish defender's hair but isn't sent off.

It either is a red card for pulling the hair of an opposing player, or it isn't, surely?

The Premier League explained the decision: "VAR recommended an on-field review for a possible red card to Brooks for violent conduct.

"Upon review, the referee deemed that the challenge on Cucurella was a reckless action and not violent conduct – and issued a yellow card to Brooks."

Jack Stephens pulls Cucurella's hair and is sent off, David Brooks does the same and is cautioned. Good to see that the laws of the game are being applied consistently.....

    Ben, Fareham

Brooks puts hands around Cucurella's face and hauls him down off the ball and doesn't get sent off for violent conduct? Awful decision.

  6. Postpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    West Ham 2-1 Fulham

West Ham concede a free-kick in a dangerous position.

Harry Wilson and Andreas Pereira stand over the set-piece chance from 22 yards out, but it's the latter who strikes it.

However, the Hammers' defensive wall does the job this time.

This game is in the balance now. It is poised perfectly.

  8. Postpublished at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Chelsea 1-1 Bournemouth

It's a short corner from Bournemouth and it's a lovely little give and go to work space for David Brooks to strike at goal. It's kept out by the foot of Robert Sanchez.

  9. Postpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Chelsea 1-1 Bournemouth

Corner for Bournemouth. They've been much better in this half already. They'll fancy this.

  10. Postpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    West Ham 2-1 Fulham

Fulham are now probing for an equaliser in earnest here.

Harry Wilson floats in a cross towards the far post where Edson Alvarez just about manages to get in front of Joachim Andersen to head the ball behind.

Oh my. Brooks is a lucky, lucky boy.

    Mark

Another day, another incorrect VAR decision. Brooks should be off.

  12. 'Brooks very fortunate'published at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Chelsea 1-1 Bournemouth

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think David Brooks is very fortunate to still be on the field. Marc Cucurella was really moving as he looked to go past him and Brooks almost clothelined him.

  13. Postpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Chelsea 1-1 Bournemouth

Nicolas Jackson has a go from the edge of the box and Mark Travers just about shoves it wide of the post. Was far from the cleanest save you'll see.

    Nottingham Forest 1-0 Liverpool

I think Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones need to come on the pitch because Liverpool are lacking creativity.

Credit to Nottingham Forest. They have played remarkably.

Savinho again, he is on one in this second half, finding space at the far post to smash in another swerving shot that rustles the side netting.

Jackson is great at hold-up and linking play but poor at finishing. Nkunku is great at finishing but poor at hold-up and linking play. Can we not just squish them together into the perfect forward?
