A game of two halves ends all-square.

Thierry Small and Michael Smith had Preston 2-0 up inside 10 minutes as Hull City looked desperately poor.

But three changes at the break from Sergej Jakirovic paid dividends.

Oli McBurnie fired home from a Ryan Giles cross to reduce the arrears within moments of the interval, and then claimed the equaliser from the same formula to set up a grandstand finish, with both teams spurning chances of the crucial fifth goal of the game.

Two important pieces of defending from Wout Faes.

He nods clear Lewis O'Brien's cross before putting his forehead in the way of Matty James' effort from the edge of the box.

Nathan Broadhead then thinks he's won it, but he can't get enough curl to nestle the ball in the top corner. That was very close indeed.

To Mike, New Forest (21:25), Quarshie will only get better with more minutes. Have to give him time. Stephens is a banker for mistakes and unfortunately Taylor Harwood-Bellis is out of sorts, wouldn’t bring either on.
