That's the danger if Aston Villa are too relaxed they could slip up.

If Club Brugge get a goal early on and Villa park it, they could get a bit tense and nervous.

A first European Cup quarter-final in 42 years is within touching distance for the home side.

Despite the first-leg advantage, there are a fair few nervous Villa fans around me.

That might have something to do with the fact they've conceded from the first shot on target against them in 18 (EIGHTEEN!) games this season.

If Emi Martinez were to make an early save, we might have a more relaxed Villa Park for the rest of the night.

    Matthew Upson

Aston Villa have almost got to think about the game as a 0-0 and approach it in that fashion and then the game will take care of itself.

Mentally you're in a place where you'd ordinarily make things happen and not thinking you've got this lead, because that can lead to that bit of complacency.

Emi Martinez was key in the first-leg and he's a big part of Villa, especially with that communication with the defence. He brings that bit more confidence.

    Garry Thompson

PSG will be a massively difficult game if we make it to the next round, but it's looking likely that we'll make it to the next round.

But the way we're going, the improvements we've made, I wouldn't rule us out. Plus it's one of Unai Emery's old clubs, so I wouldn't rule us out of the equation.

This game will be Mikel Arteta’s 20th in the Champions League as Arsenal manager (won 12, drawn three, lost four). In the competition’s history, only nine managers have won 13 of their first 20 games, with seven of those winning the trophy at some stage (Louis van Gaal, Marcello Lippi, Jupp Heynckes, Vicente del Bosque, Luis Enrique, Zinedine Zidane, Hansi Flick).

Just two weeks ago, after a bad defeat at Selhurst Park, a slight sense of drift was beginning to creep around Villa's season. Three wins, in three different competitions, have blown that feeling away.

At Tuesday's press conference, Unai Emery spoke with renewed zeal, a sense of determination that though this season has been a great ride for everyone, there must be a tangible reward at the end.

Another shot at one of the European competitions would be a minimum requirement, winning a trophy at the same time better still.

Back to the present. Emery told us: "I know the club, after they won the European Cup, they were for a long time not achieving the demands we are now setting in the club – to be in Europe, to be contenders for trophies. Everything we are doing is important. But I want more." You bet.

  8. 'Asensio has been fantastic since he signed'published at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

What an impact Marco Asensio has had. He's been fantastic since he's come in. He looks like a goal threat, he's scoring and he's in and around the team.

The physical side is demanding but it's the mental side that really tests you, and I think doing it after a few seasons, getting into that rhythm, then players will adapt.

Someone like Asensio totally understands that because he's been doing it season after season anyway.

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba has said the Gunners "don't deserve" to be top of the Premier League.

The Gunners are 15 points adrift of leaders Liverpool and have 10 league games left to play, one more than Arne Slot's Reds.

They drew 1-1 with Manchester United on Sunday and having lost some of their key attackers to injuries, they have only scored one goal in their past three league matches.

"If they [Liverpool] are first it is because they did something that we didn't do. Of course there is a big gap," Saliba said. "We have to keep going. They are so good as well.

"I think this season, we don't deserve to be at the top. We have to keep going. We are second and there is a Champions League as well, we will push."

Club Brugge boss Nicky Hayen: "You can feel in the dressing room that there is absolutely still faith. Is it going to be easy? Of course not, but in football we have already seen that everything is possible.

"We have to score, want to score and will present ourselves that way.

"In both games we had the chances to finish with a win. We have to play with courage, use spaces and above all deal with the chances more efficiently. Then you never know what can happen here."

Julian Alvarez has been involved in at least one goal in each of his last five Champions League appearances for Atletico (six goals, one assist).

The only two Argentine players to score or assist in six in a row are Claudio Lopez for Valencia and Lionel Messi, twice including a run of eight, for Barcelona.

Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari: "I certainly don't think our campaign is over.

"We played really well against them last week, just like we did in November [beating Villa 1-0 in the league phase]. You never know in football, although we know it will be difficult, especially because they have a good reputation at home.

"I'm not going to put a percentage on it, but we have nothing to lose here and in football, ultimately, anything is possible."

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery: "To play in the Champions League has been fantastic, but my objective is to be consistently playing in Europe and the Champions League.

"Everything we are achieving is because we are in a new way. It's a new demand, starting from the owners, starting from the club, starting with everything we are trying to set inside.

"I know after the club won the European Cup [in 1982] they were for a long time not achieving the demands we are now setting in the club - to be in Europe, to be a contender for trophies. Everything we are doing is important, but I want more."

The atmosphere inside Villa Park does not need much outside assistance with Unai Emery's side in prime position to reach the Champions League quarter-finals, but it's getting some nonetheless.

Music blaring out and deafening volume and every chance of a major display of pyrotechnics before kick-off.

Unai Emery knows how to manage the squad, especially the recruitment in January has made the squad even better with more depth.

He has so many options going forward when you think about the players he can start or come off the bench.

It is, purely attacking-wise, one of the best sides in the Premier League and credit to the club for backing him in January.

Villa are ready to have a really good end of the season.

    Arsenal v PSV (20:00 GMT)

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaking to TNT Sports about his team selection: "We have a lot of flexibility with those three players [Lewis-Skelly, Tierney and Zinchenko] to do a lot of things. I think they all deserve to play and it is a good night to see a certain level of player who haven't had a lot of match time.

"Yes [Lewis-Skelly] can play in midfield. His whole development was as a six, even more an eight, but because of the situation we have had in the team we saw he could fit in as a full-back and he has adapted really well."

Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid (20:00 GMT, agg 1-2)

This is a repeat of the 2014 and 2016 finals which Real both won. In fact Real have won a record 15 European Cups - including last year's to Atletico's none.

Real boss Carlo Ancelotti said: "We're motivated as always in this competition. We're confident we'll stay here.

"It's a game that allows us to continue dreaming of the title. This year it's a bit more complicated but we want to keep competing until the last game.

"All the games against Atleti have been very close and tomorrow will be the same, they are always decided by small details. Those who don't start will definitely contribute, a well-made change can make the difference."
