"Griezmann is going to have a great game tomorrow," said Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone on his club's all-time top scorer Antoine Griezmann.

"I am sure, I am convinced that he is going to have a great game."

The boss added: "I believe in the players, I have confidence in the squad.

"I understand the heart that my players have, we are going out to continue in this Champions League, because that is our ultimate goal."

Arsenal fan Alan Alger speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about manager Mikel Arteta: "He has been two extremly small sliding doors moments away from winning the last two Premier League titles.

"This season it hasn't gone as planned. Even if we had been maybe at 80% of the rate we hit the last two years then we would probably have given Liverpool a very, very strong tussle at the top. That hasn't materialised but I don't think you throw it all away.

"I just think he needs a bit more time. It's his first job, and I do think that people would snap him up if we got rid of him. That tells you why he should stay."

"We have to respect the opponent. We are ready for 90 minutes, we are ready for a penalty shootout, and we need to be focused for the whole game. We want to dominate, win the duels and try to get something from the game."

When you look at the spine of this Villa team, it is very experienced, it is very strong and you'd think they'd have enough tonight.

Unai Emery is well scripted and well experienced in these situations in European competitions and he won't be taking any chances.

Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy's 14 goal involvements in the Champions League this season (10 goals, four assists) is the joint-most by an African player in a single season in the competition alongside Mohamed Salah in 2017-18 (10 goals, four assists).

Atletico Madrid haven’t lost a Champions League knockout match at their home ground since a 3-2 defeat at the Vicente Calderon to Ajax in March 1997. They are unbeaten in 18 since.

I thought that myself guys. Surely if Mikel Arteta is going to make a load of changes the one position he might like to try something different in is at centre forward.

Villa right-back Matty Cash: "With all due respect to the squads we have had before, this is the best squad we have had in the years I have been here, for sure.

"We are strong in every position, two really good players now in each. It is really important to have that all around the squad. To have that rotation is good."

Serhou Guirassy has assisted his fourth goal in the 2024-25 Champions League.

Club Brugge have never won away in England in 14 European trips, only drawing two.
