  3. Rooney 'angry' despite dramatic comebackpublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 26 October

Plymouth manager Wayne Rooney said he is "angry" despite his side coming from 3-0 to rescue a dramatic late draw at home to Preston.

Rooney told BBC Radio Devon: "I'm angry really. That performance is nowhere near good enough. I'm really disappointed.

"For an hour of that game, it didn't look like us at all and we were easy to play against. We weren't putting tackles in, we weren't getting to the ball.

"Obviously pleased we get a point out of the game but I can't accept that performance."

On whether it feels more like a win than a draw, Rooney said: "No, I'm frustrated. Of course at 3-0 you look at it and you're concerned.

"Really pleased to get a point at the end but the performance was nowhere near good enough."

On how to fix it: "We have to keep working. There have been games this season where we've been really good. The last three games we've hit a little bit of a blip so we need to snap out of it because that could have been a lot worse."

  4. 'One that got away'published at 17:47 British Summer Time 26 October

    FT: Plymouth 3-3 Preston

Preston manager Paul HeckingbottomImage source, Rex Features

Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom said it's their "own fault" after they threw away a three-goal lead to draw at Plymouth.

"It's one that has got away without a doubt," Heckingbottom told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"Really clear to see why we didn't come away with the three points. Just how we defended those key moments, really poor, not following the free-kick in, missing a tackle, not dealing with a cross.

"That's probably overshadowed and took the shine off what was a really, really strong performance with and without the ball really.

"I've just said to the boys that we have to make sure that we learn from it because we should have had a hell of a lot more points than we have.

"We should be really comfortable pushing that top end of the table because I think that's another performance where we've shown we're capable.

"It's so disappointing how we defended those moments because it was out of nothing. That's not me being disrespectful to Plymouth but everything was in front of us and we really limited them but it's our own fault."

  5. Leeds 'not at their best' - Farkepublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 26 October

    FT: Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

    Leeds United

Leeds boss Daniel Farke felt his side were "wasteful" with their chances.

The Whites limited their opponents to no shots on target but could not take any of their own chances at Ashton Gate.

"We did more than enough to win this difficult away game. There was 70% possession, 17 shots to four and we had 10 times the amount of expected goals than they did - we literally didn’t allow them one proper chance.

“The feeling was that we created more than enough, and not just to score one goal. We were a bit wasteful in front of the opponent’s goal, I have to say.

“Statistics wise, yeah more or less [it was a] dominant and really good game but I still have the feeling that we were not at our very best.”

  6. Hogg praises united club after emotional periodpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 26 October

    FT: Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

    Bristol City

Bristol City assistant Chris Hogg said the most important thing for him was having boss Liam Manning back on the sideline.

Manning returned for the first time since his baby son Theo died earlier this month, with fans paying tribute before the match.

"The biggest thing for me was having my mate back next to me," Hogg told BBC Radio Bristol.

"To show the character and the strength to come and stand on the touchline today epitomises what he's all about.

"The performance from the boys was good in terms of being hard to beat. We want to be better with the ball and cause more problems but you saw a united football club there.

"Credit to the supporters who were behind organising the tributes at the start. They were there from the early hours and I'd like to thank them from the bottom of my heart.

"At the end of an emotional couple of weeks the players showed a real heart and desire to get something out of the game. On the back of everything it's a really good point."

  7. 'There's no one else to blame but me' - Edwardspublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 26 October

    FT: Coventry 3-2 Luton

    Luton Town

Luton boss Rob Edwards said fingers should be pointed at him after they threw away a two-goal lead.

“It’s on me. I own it. We were 2-0 up and lost 3-2. I know there will be a lot of frustration and questions asked," he told BBC Three Counties Radio.

“But there’s no-one else to blame but me. The players are giving me everything but we lost the game from a commanding position.

“Coventry were very effective and it was hard to get any foothold in the game.

”Elijah Adebayo got his goal and worked hard. Full credit to him.”

  8. 'Just what we deserved' - Coventry boss Robinspublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 26 October

    FT: Coventry 3-2 Luton

    Coventry

Earlier today Coventry City staged a phenomenal comeback from two goals down to beat Luton Town 3-2.

Haji Wright's winner came in second half added time to complete a dramatic turnaround that lifted the Sky Blues out of the relegation zone.

“Just what we needed and just what we deserved," boss Mark Robins told BBC CWR.

"Right from minute one we were on the front foot against a side who we notoriously find it difficult to play against.

“Their first chance they score, their second chance they score and we’re two down. But we’ve won games from 2-0 down before.

“You’re then looking at whether we had the character to turn it round - and we did, with some real determination and unbelievable quality.

“We scored from our set play, then Victor Torp came on with instructions to shoot more as we don’t think he does it enough. His goal was outstanding. And then Haji Wright won it for us.”

  9. 'Poor decision for the penalty'published at 17:26 British Summer Time 26 October

    FT: Watford 1-0 Blackburn

    Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn boss John Eustace believes the penalty awarded for handball against Ryan Hedges which led to Watford's winning goal was harsh.

Eustace told BBC Radio Lancashire: “I thought it was a very, very good performance with and without the ball.

"I think we had the two best chances that we’ve got to put away with Andi [Weimann] and Dominic [Hyam].

“We limited a really good team at home to next to nothing and we’re disappointed to lose on a really poor decision from the referee."

Watford edged Blackburn in a tightly contested game at Vicarage Road in one of the lunchtime kick-offs thanks to Edo Kayembe's penalty.

The Hornets' head coach Tom Cleverley told BBC Three Counties Radio: "The foundation you need to be successful in this division is clean sheets and home form so, we got two in two, today.

"We needed the response, we are taking comfort from playing at home.

"Today I was pleased, I've spoke a lot about consistency recently and about having that baseline of performance that you don't go underneath by doing the basics well."

On the penalty award, Cleverley added: "I certainly thought it was [a penalty] at the time. I've not watched it back but it sounds to me its one of those that you feel hard done by if it doesn't get given but likewise them [you do feel hard done by] when it does".

It was the day of the fightback at the bottom of the Championship, with Coventry's 3-2 comeback victory against Luton lifting them out of the relegation zone.

The Hatters drop in in their place after Plymouth clawed back an extraordinary 3-3 draw, having been three goals down after 48 minutes.

Morgan Whittaker's added-time equaliser against Preston earned the Pilgrims the point they needed to keep above water.

Sunderland's 2-0 win against Oxford United saw them move five points clear at the top of the Championship.

Burnley and Leeds both dropped points in frustrating goalless draws, meaning Sheffield United gained ground on an automatic promotion place with their 2-0 home win over Stoke City.

Millwall's last-minute winner at Swansea sees them climb into the top 10.

Ex-Sunderland defender on BBC Radio Newcastle

Technically Sunderland were way better than Oxford United.

When Patrick Roberts is in this kind of form, it kind of rubs off onto the rest of the players.

  14. 'The roof came off Home Park'published at 17:10 British Summer Time 26 October

    FT: Plymouth 3-3 Preston

    John Acres
    BBC commentator on Final Score

What a game of football. 3-0 down Argyle, booed off at half-time, looked absolutely clueless.

Not a shot on target and then Freddie Issaka, 18 years of age with his first goal for the club got one back.

Andre Gray with his first goal for the club off the bench to make it 3-2. And then Whittaker for 3-3... The roof came off Home Park.

  15. 'Plymouth clawed back their dignity'published at 17:08 British Summer Time 26 October

    Ryan Dickson
Former Plymouth and Southampton defender on BBC Radio Devon

Plymouth clawed back their dignity in the last 20 minutes.

There were good subs and they had more intensity.

What a great finish to the game.

    Burnley 0-0 QPR

It ends all square at Turf Moor as Burnley lose ground on Sunderland at the top of the table.

The Clarets were frustrated by the Hoops, who claimed their first clean sheet of the season, and are now five points behind the Black Cats at the Championship summit.

Both sides hit the crossbar but were ultimately unable to find the breakthrough that would have secured all three points.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 26 October

    Plymouth 3-3 Preston

    What. A. Game.

Plymouth have produced a truly incredible comeback from 3-0 down to salvage a late, late draw.

Morgan Whittaker scored the equaliser in the 92nd minute - the fourth consecutive home game in which Argyle have netted in injury time.

Sam Greenwood, Mads Frokjaer-Jensen and Brad Potts appeared to have put Preston in cruise control but Freddie Issaka's first goal for Plymouth and an Andre Gray header gave the hosts hope.

Up stepped Whittaker again to fire the late leveller, as he did in the dying moments of the last game at Home Park in the 2-1 win over Blackburn.

Wayne Rooney will be a mightily relieved man. Paul Heckingbottom will be absolutely reeling.
