  1. CLOSE!published at 15:15 British Summer Time

    West Brom 0-0 Cardiff

West Brom come close to taking the lead as John Swift whips in a brilliant free kick and it's met by Darnell Furlong but he can't glance his header on target.

That's the first real opening for either side.

  2. 'Stats suggest not many goals'published at 15:15 British Summer Time

    Swansea 0-0 Millwall

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

Swansea are yet to lose a home league game this season, while Millwall are still to win on their travels in the Championship in 2024-25.

The last time the Lions took three points on the road was on their last visit to this ground, when Casper de Norre scored the only goal of the game on the final day of last season.

Swansea's record in this campaign - both in attack and defence - suggests there will not be many goals today either.

Luke Williams' side have begun with some purpose, but there has been no obvious sign yet of their goal drought drawing to a close.

  3. goal

    Kieffer Moore (14 mins)

The home side hit the front!

Kieffer Moore has found goals hard to come by since moving to Bramall Lane in the summer but he's on the scoresheet today.

The big Wales international turns in Alfie Gilchrist's long range shot for his first goal for club or country since 17 August.

  4. When it rains, it pours...published at 15:12 British Summer Time

    Sunderland 0-0 Oxford

Sprinklers come on at Stadium of LightImage source, Rex Features

Patrick Roberts sees a shot turned around the post by Oxford goalkeeper Jamie Cumming.

That's the first meaningful bit of goalmouth action at the Stadium of Light, where there was a slight malfunction when the sprinklers came on after the players had taken to the field.

Black Cats' teenage midfielder Chris Rigg didn't seem too bothered by it it has to be said.

  5. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time

    Swansea 0-0 Millwall

Will this be the game Swansea in which end their four-match run without a goal?

Zan Vipotnik is up front for the Swans today, the 22-year-old hasn't scored since a 3-0 win against Preston in August - his only goal of the season.

Ronald has sent an early sighter wide for the home side.

They won't care where the goal comes from, just that one comes from somewhere!

They've only scored eight in total this campaign.

  6. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time

    West Brom 0-0 Cardiff

Plenty of early possession for the visitors and Anwar El Ghazi shows some clean footwork before hitting in a cross which is deflected behind for a corner. It comes to nothing, however.

  7. QPR HIT THE BARpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time

    Burnley 0-0 QPR

The away side create the first chance of the match as Paul Smyth let's fly on the break, crashing an effort off the woodwork.

The Hoops seem happy to sit back and counter and it almost paid off early on.

  8. Postpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time

    Plymouth 0-0 Preston

Preston create an early chance as Sam Greenwood is played in and fires towards goal but Dan Grimshaw can save in the Plymouth goal.

It comes back out to Ben Whiteman who can only volley over the bar from the edge of the box.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time

    West Brom 0-0 Cardiff

Not an ideal start for West Brom... the Baggies are forced into a very early change as centre-back Paddy McNair goes off injured and is replaced by Callum Styles.

  10. 'Sunderland will have to be patient'published at 15:06 British Summer Time

    Sunderland 0-0 Oxford United

    Gary Bennett
Ex-Sunderland defender on BBC Radio Newcastle

You can see how Oxford have set up, they've got men behind the ball.

Sunderland will have to be patient.

  11. Postpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Stoke

Sheffield United became the last EFL team to lose their unbeaten start to the season when they fell to a 2-0 reverse at Leeds United last Friday.

They subsequently lost 1-0 at Middlesbrough in a close-fought game on Wednesday.

Striker Tyrese Campbell is given just his second start for the Blades since his August arrival as they look to get back on the goals, and wins, trail.

  12. Postpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time

    Plymouth 0-0 Preston

Plymouth win an early free-kick out wide about 20 yards from goal after Michael Obafemi is pushed in the back but it comes to nothing.

Wayne Rooney's side have won their last three home games. Will they make it four on the bounce today?

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time

We're off and running in our seven Championship games this afternoon.

A reminder that if you prefer your football with more of a League One or Two flavour we have you covered over here.

  14. Can QPR upset formbook?published at 14:58 British Summer Time

    Burnley v QPR (15:00 BST)

    Ben Croucher
BBC Final Score at Turf Moor

The Championship's longest unbeaten streak meets the league's longest winless run at a sun soaked Turf Moor.

QPR's starting XI has a combined one league goal between them so far this season, with two goalkeepers on the bench including Nathan Shepperd who has just signed a short-term deal.

Crumbs of comfort for QPR fans? They've won more points on the road than at home, won of their last visit to Burnley and won't be bottom at 5pm unless they lose 5-0.

Pools panel (is that still a thing?) would say home win. Football is a funny old game though....

  15. West Brom welcome in-form Cardiffpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time

West Brom v Cardiff (15:00 BST)

West Brom have now gone five games without a win, drawing their last three, but are still fourth and firmly in contention for promotion.

The Baggies are formidable defensively at The Hawthorns and have recorded five clean sheets in their last six home games but will be desperate to get back to winning ways.

Carlos Corberan has vowed to keep chasing his dream of getting West Brom back to the Premier League but his side face a stern test this afternoon.

Cardiff might be sitting in 20th but don’t be fooled by their position in the table as the Bluebirds are in a great run of form.

Omer Riza’s men have won three of their last four, drawing the other, and no side has won more points in the Championship since the start of the month.

They arrive in the Midlands after thrashing Plymouth 5-0 a week ago before following it up with a 2-0 win against Portsmouth on Tuesday night.

  16. Will Swans' unwanted October run continue?published at 14:53 British Summer Time

    Swansea v Millwall (15:00 BST)

Swansea host Millwall looking to end a run of four games without a goal.

The Swans are the league's lowest scorers with eight goals - and three of those came on the same day in a 3-0 win over Preston more than two months ago.

Since then, they have scored just five times in 10 Championship matches - and are yet to find the net in October.

But a steely defence has ensured they have earned three draws in their last five, and also kept them in a positive goal difference (+1).

Millwall's 1-0 win against Plymouth in midweek lifted the Lions away from the drop zone and up to 13th, one place above Swansea.

Neil Harris's side have picked up just three of their 13 points away from home.

  17. All going swimmingly for Black Catspublished at 14:50 British Summer Time

    Sunderland v Oxford (15:00 BST)

    Andy Sixsmith
    Final Score reporter

You’d have had long odds on Sunderland being top of the Championship as we turn towards November.

But thanks to brilliant boss Regis Le Bris and scoring more than Manchester City, that’s exactly where the Black Cats are.

Ahead of today’s clash with draw specialists Oxford, some fans are talking up the Premier League, but others like the bloke I was speaking to are more cautious:

“If we’re top come May, I’ll swim the length of the River Wear.” You heard it here first.

    Stadium of Light
  18. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time

    Sunderland 0-0 Oxford

Sunderland continued their superb start to the season with a battling 2-1 win at Luton on Wednesday to return to the top of the Championship.

Leeds' earlier 0-0 draw at Bristol City means that, depending on other results, the Black Cats could end the day five points clear at the summit.

The omens are stacked in the Black Cats' favour for this one, with Oxford yet to win away from the Kassam Stadium this season and beaten 7-0 the last time they played a second tier game at the Stadium of Light, albeit that was in September 1998.

  19. Preston visit Plymouth in search of first away winpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time

    Plymouth v Preston (15:00 BST)

Plymouth manager Wayne RooneyImage source, Rex Features

Plymouth have struggled somewhat since the international break with a 5-0 humbling away at fellow relegation battlers Cardiff last weekend and a 1-0 defeat at Millwall on Wednesday night.

Argyle have drawn a blank in three of their last four games and Wayne Rooney admitted they “didn’t create anywhere near enough” at The Den in midweek.

But if there’s something for the Pilgrims to hang their hat on, it’s their form at Home Park where they’ve lost just once and have now won three on the bounce - two of which came via dramatic late winners against Sunderland and Blackburn.

Preston arrive in the south-west having recovered from a poor start to the season with just one defeat in their last seven (W2, D4), which has lifted them up to 16th.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side are winless on the road and in-fact haven’t picked up an away victory for 10 games in a run stretching back to last season. Their last away win, though? A 1-0 success over Plymouth in March.

  20. Hull look to hit high notes at fortress Pride Parkpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time

Derby v Hull City (15:00 BST)

Derby's positive start to life back in the second tier has been under-pinned by their excellent home form.

The Rams have won 10 of their past 11 league matches in front of their own fans and will look to make it 11 from 12 against a side they have a good recent record against.

The East Midlanders have beaten the side from East Yorkshire in eight of the past 10 match ups.

Tim Walter's men claimed a creditable draw against promotion-chasing Burnley on Wednesday but the result ultimately played second fiddle (pun only half-intended) to a row about the use of goal music at the MKM Stadium.
