  1. Two changes apiece for Robins and Whitespublished at 12:17 British Summer Time

Bristol City v Leeds (12:30 BST)

Bristol City make two alterations from Tuesday's comeback 2-2 draw with Stoke City. Marcus McGuane and Yu Hirakawa come into midfield for Joe Williams, who serves a one-match suspension, and Anis Mehmeti, who drops to the bench.

Leeds United make two enforced changes from the side that started the 2-1 win over Watford on Tuesday. Junior Firpo is banned and Largie Ramazani is out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury picked up early on against the Hornets. Sam Byram and Dan James come into the 11.

    Watford v Blackburn (12:30 BST)

After a good start to the season, Watford have stuttered since September, winning just two of their past eight games and come into this off the back of three defeats in four.

The Hornets endured two tough away games in the past week, losing 3-0 at Luton last Saturday before a 2-1 loss to Leeds at Elland Road on Tuesday night saw them slip to ninth.

Tom Cleverley’s side are back on home soil today where they’re unbeaten so far this season (W4, D1) and welcome Blackburn who have promotion aspirations of their own.

Rovers arrive at Vicarage Road in sixth place and recovered from their first two defeats of the season by beating Swansea 1-0 at Ewood Park last weekend and sharing a goalless draw with fellow challengers West Brom on Wednesday.

But John Eustace’s men have struggled on their travels and are still winless away from home, drawing three and losing two.

It’s very much a clash of one side who are great at home and another who struggle on the road. Will that theme change this afternoon?

Coventry and Luton meet today for the first time since the Hatters' penalty shootout victory in the 2023 Championship play-off final at Wembley.

The Sky Blues' Fankaty Dabo missed the 12th penalty in the shootout, after the sides had drawn 1-1 after 120 minutes, to send Luton up to the Premier League that day.

Since then, Luton have been relegated straight back to the second tier and Coventry suffered heartbreak under the arch on penalties again, this time against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final.

They now find themselves in the relegation zone with nine points from 11 games, while Luton sit in an underwhelming 19th place with pressure building on boss Rob Edwards.

  4. Robins look to end barren Leeds runpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time

Bristol City v Leeds (12:30 BST)

Bristol City's recent record against Leeds United doesn't make for great reading for Robins fans.

Of the past 18 meetings between the two teams, the Whites have come out on top 15 times, with two draws and just one win for the west country side.

That being said, Bristol City are unbeaten in their past six league games and they're unbeaten at Ashton Gate since 2 March.

An early win at Bristol City could see Leeds move top of the table before Sunderland host Oxford United later.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth's defeat at home by Sheffield Wednesday last night ensured Pompey are almost certain to end the weekend bottom of the Championship table.

However, just four points separate Pompey from 18th-placed Stoke City, who travel to Sheffield United later.

The EFL action for the weekend got under way last night as Portsmouth welcomed Sheffield Wednesday.

The home side took the lead through Connor Ogilvie just before half-time, as they looked to secure a first home victory of the season.

However, Josh Windass levelled for the Owls before former Pompey striker Michael Smith hammered home a superb long-range winner.

Those three points lifted Danny Rohl's men up from 18th all the way to 11th, while Portsmouth remain bottom.

Friday's reverse was their sixth league defeat of the season, one more than they suffered in the whole of 2023-24 as they won the League One title.

Good afternoon and welcome to today's Championship live text.

We've got three early games for you to get things started and then seven more straight after.

The pick of our opening three matches sees third-placed Leeds visit Bristol City, with a win potentially enough to send the Whites top, albeit quite possibly just for a few hours.

It's unlikely to be a straightforward day for Daniel Farke's men though, as the Robins, like their visitors today, are unbeaten since 14 September.
