  1. Signs that Blades magic is returningpublished at 17:12 BST 20 September

    FT: Sheff Utd 0-1 Charlton

    Naz Premji
BBC Final Score commentator at Bramall Lane

Chris Wilder returned to Bramall Lane for a third spell as Sheffield United manager after the board admitted they got it wrong in sacking him 89 days earlier.

Roll on to now and Wilder may have lost his returning game against Charlton Athletic but there were signs that some of the magic for the Blades is slowly returning.

In football, sometimes things just work and certain coaches fit certain clubs. Darren Ferguson and Peterborough United, Carlo Ancelloti at Real Madrid, you can add Zinedine Zidane to that club as well.

Going back Sir Matt Busby had two spells at Manchester United and the great Rinus Michels at Ajax and of course Jose Mourinho who went back to Chelsea twice.

But step forward John Sheridan who took on the managers job at Oldham Athletic no fewer than six times.

Like I said sometimes things just work!

  2. Match abandoned at Blackburnpublished at 17:09 BST 20 September

Blackburn 1-0 Ipswich - rain forces abandonment on 80 minutes

Absolutely farcical if Blackburn need to replay the entire game against 11 men after leading with 10 minutes remaining vs 10. Common sense should be playing out the remaining few minutes at a later date.

    Norwich 2-3 Wrexham

A frantic finish at Carrow Road but it was too little too late for Norwich.

The Canaries led 1-0 at the break but a rejuvenated Wrexham came out like a blow torch in the second half and scored three goals in quick succession.

Norwich threatened a comeback with an injury time goal but the Red Dragons held on to claim all three points.

  4. GAME OFF AT BLACKBURNpublished at 17:02 BST 20 September

    Blackburn 1-0 Ipswich

80 minutes played with Blackburn on the cusp of their first home win of the season but the heavens opened to deny them the taste of that victory.

The pitch is unplayable and the game comes to an early, deflating conclusion.

  5. 'Derby not enough'published at 16:59 BST 20 September

    FT: Derby 0-1 Preston

    Eric Steele
Former Derby and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC Radio Derby

We were much better in the second half but couldn't do enough.

There was some good delivery, and possession, but hopefully the positive substitutions are a sign of a brighter future for Derby.

  6. Postpublished at 16:58 BST 20 September

    Norwich 2-3 Wrexham

Norwich are fighting to find this third goal.

    There are just seconds left.

Wrexham are holding on for dear life at Carrow Road.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:57 BST 20 September

    Hull 3-1 Southampton

    Hull have demolished Southampton.

The opening goal from Kyle Joseph was fortunate. The two second half goals, from John Lundstram and Oli McBurnie, were exceptional.Saints rarely threatened in this one sided affair. Their lone goal in stoppage time from Adam Armstrong, little more than a consolation.

  8. 'Huge job for Chris Wilder'published at 16:56 BST 20 September

    FT: Sheff Utd 0-1 Charlton

    Carl Asaba
Former Sheffield United striker on BBC Radio Sheffield

Chris Wilder has got a huge job on his hands.

Not only is the team devoid of any belief, but his striking options are tiny. We had good possession sometimes but no threat up top.

The manager will praise his side afterwards but only because he can't hammer them anymore. They lack leaders...they lack everything.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 BST 20 September

    Portsmouth 0-2 Sheff Wed

A massive win on the road for the Owls.

They've faced such adversity this season and were on the losing side against League Two opposition just four days ago.

But goals from captain Barry Bannan and George Brown on his league debut have given Henrik Pedersen's side their first Championship win of the season to lift them to within one point of 21st-placed Derby County.

  10. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:55 BST 20 September

    Derby 0-1 Preston

Derby improve in the second-half after the introduction of their marquee singing Patrick Agyemang but can't make a dent to prevent a Preston victory.

The win puts Paul Heckingbottom's North End into the play-off spots. Before the match, the manager said social media wouldn't have them down as winners due to their difference in spending from the Rams.

He's out to prove a point and he's doing it well.

  11. goal

GOAL: Hull 3-1 Southamptonpublished at 16:55 BST 20 September

    Adam Armstrong (90+5 mins)

    A consolation goal for Southampton.

Adam Armstrong neatly controls the ball on his chest, turns and strikes into the back of the net.

  12. Postpublished at 16:54 BST 20 September

    Blackburn 1-0 Ipswich

The referee braves the unyielding weather to have a look at the pitch. He runs straight back to the tunnel.

    It's not looking good...

A huge win for Charlton as Tanto Oloafe pops up in the 90th minute to ruin Chris Wilder's Bramall Lane homecoming.

A much needed win for the Addicks while the Blades remain rooted to the bottom of the table with zero points from six games.

  14. goal

GOAL: Norwich 2-3 Wrexhampublished at 16:53 BST 20 September

    Jovon Makama (90+2 mins)

Norwich have one back with four minutes of stoppage time to go!

The Wrexham keeper Arthur Okonkwo spills the save and Jovon Makama pounces on the rebound.

  15. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:53 BST 20 September

    Portsmouth 0-2 Sheff Wed

Six minutes for the Owls to see out their first Championship win of the season.

  16. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:52 BST 20 September

    Sheff Utd 0-1 Charlton

Four minutes added time for the Blades to find a response on Chris Wilder's return.

Is it going to be six league defeats in a row to start the season?

  17. Postpublished at 16:51 BST 20 September

    Derby 0-1 Preston

There's six minutes added onto this one.

Enough time for Pride Park to see an equaliser?

  18. Postpublished at 16:50 BST 20 September

    Derby 0-1 Preston

Almost a second for Preston as substitutes Michael Smith and Daniel Jebbison combine to give Jebbison a sight of the net but Jacob Widell Zetterstrom makes himself big to keep Derby in it.

    Not long left now though...

  19. 'Wilder's party spoiled'published at 16:50 BST 20 September

    Sheff Utd 0-1 Charlton

    Adam Oxley
    BBC Radio Sheffield

Sheffield United have four minutes to get a point, and home fans aren't sticking around to see if they can.

It's looking like Chris Wilder's return party has been spoiled.

  20. goal

GOAL: Sheff Utd 0-1 Charltonpublished at 16:49 BST 20 September

    Tanto Oloafe (90 min)

    Late, late Charlton goal!

And a first for the club for Tanto Oloafe.

The ball comes across to the striker who calmly slots it past Michael Cooper in the Sheffield United goal for what could be a big winner.

The Addicks fans are on the pitch. Pandemonium.
