It was only until four changes in the 60th minute, which shows he [Unai Emery] wasn't happy, which turned the game a little bit.

They were able to get an own goal in the 80th minute and score a penalty soon after which swung the tie their way.

Marco Asensio is a special talent, even when he first came through at Madrid, I think he struggled with injury which stopped him from being world class, as we've seen, since he's been at Villa he's still that top, top player.

FT: Club Brugge 1-3 Aston Villa

It was result over performance for Aston Villa. It sounds harsh as it was a 3-1 win away from home in the Champions League to set them up perfectly for next week.

It was fascinating to see Unai Emery in the second half as agitated as I've ever seen him on the touchline for Aston Villa.

He wasn't happy as the game was drifting at 1-1. He felt that a really good opportunity was being let slip after a few good chances for Club Brugge.

He made a quadruple change - one of them Marco Asensio, who has been terrific signing - and they scored two late goals.

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is a target for Portuguese club Benfica.

Lindelof spent five years with Benfica after joining them as a youth player in 2012. He joined United in a £31m deal in 2017.

The 30-year-old's contract expires on 30 June and it is thought unlikely he will be offered an extension.

He made his 11th appearance of the season on Sunday when he came on as a substitute in the FA Cup fifth round tie against Fulham, but missed a penalty in the shoot-out defeat at Old Trafford, and has started 28 Premier League games since the start of the 2022-23 campaign.

Lindelof won three Portuguese league titles and two domestic cups during his initial time with Benfica, who want him to replace veteran Argentinian defender Nicolas Otamendi.

Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho on Rangers interim manager Barry Ferguson: "I know his history as a football player who played for Scotland and Rangers. I don't know much about him as coach but I respect the emotional connection between him as a coach and his club now.

"That is a very important thing in a football club. I don't like to talk about the lack of experience in European football but look at the positive side.

"It will be much more difficult against him than the previous manager. He [Philippe Clement] was more worried about his philosophy off the pitch, on the pitch [with passion] is where you win matches. Ferguson will be more pragmatic and objective so it will be hard for us."

But, the post also shows him to have a protective boot on his left foot, amid reports that he will have a scan over a fresh injury concern.

Manager Ange Postecoglou will no doubt be pleased if his star man is happy off the field but it will also be a concern if he is out for any longer period of time.

Especially as the Europa League restarts on Thursday with a trip to face AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands. The competition is effectively Spurs' last chance of winning a trophy while also offering a route Champions League qualification if they win the tournament.

The World Cup final is the show. No need for a worse one at half time.

    Henry

I can’t see any way they would fit a halftime show into the normal 15 minute halftime slot, why should players have to wait longer between halves in the biggest game of their careers.

    Ben

Half-time show should be avoided. All it will do is have people who care little about football buy tickets (increasing demand and therefore price) to see whichever artists take part. The artists themselves will need to be paid, which will increase ticket prices for the competition even further. It takes away from the game, not to mention I wouldn’t trust the pitch conditions in the second half if they go about setting up huge stages for it to take place…

Half time show? What a load of nonsense! These are finely tuned athletes, if half time show is longer than 15 mins then risking players seizing up causing potential injury. Is it really worth the risk? Just stick to the traditional pre-game show, which even that is a little excessive! The entertainment of being at one of the biggest finals in sport is enough!

    Dan, Liverpool

Half time shows do nothing other than add false value to allow for ever inflating ticket prices.

    Marie, Canterbury

I don't think any football fan has ever asked for a half time show. When was the last time Fifa actually consulted with anyone in the real world?

Maybe tonight or tomorrow. But yes, in London and in the south of Portugal some Rangers fans come up to me. That was my first big European final but I have respect for both big clubs.

"They both have an incredible history. I've friends from both clubs - the green and the blue - I know it is going to be difficult but I am happy to playing against a Scottish team. I look forward to going to Scotland next week.

“The reason why we are 18 matches unbeaten is because we faced the difficult moments with courage, humility and with a good spirit.

“Outside of the pitch, I don't think we have had a difficult moment.”

Galatasaray claimed Mourinho made "racist statements" following the teams' 0-0 draw on 24 February. Mourinho has filed a lawsuit against Galatasaray following these accusations.
