Our Arsenal page asked for your thoughts after Tuesday's Champions League game between PSV Eindhoven and Arsenal, which the Gunners won 7-1.

Here are some of your comments:

Sam: Our best performance in a long time! When teams don't sit back and it is end to end, Arsenal are a very strong outfit and it showed tonight. Odegaard being back to his best as well is a massive confidence boost.

Nigel: Simply seven-sational. Hopefully this will provide that rocket we need in the league. Seven goals and seven well-worked plays.

Mike: Fantastic all around. Great to see the team not sitting back. Just need everyone to not expect Arsenal to come out and beat Man Utd like that. The players take that into the weekend and they will have a great chance, but it's done, a new game and a different team. It can be done and should be a thrilling game.

Chris Sutton believes Arsenal can win the Champions League this season, after the Gunners demolished PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in the first leg of their last-16 tie on Tuesday.

Despite the lack of a recognised striker for Mikel Arteta's team, Sutton says there is no way PSV are coming back from the first-leg defeat.

"Arsenal were ruthless tonight, absolutely ruthless and that is the tie over," he said.

    "PSV aren't coming back.

"I think Arteta wouldn't have seen this type of performance coming in terms of the goals that were scored but he will be mightily pleased that they are back in goalscoring form.

"There is no reason why Arsenal can't go all the way in this competition. I think it is very open.

"Whether they play Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid [in the quarter-finals], they will feel that they have a chance."

Eindhoven has been packed with carnival-goers in recent days but on Tuesday it was Arsenal enjoying their own party in the city, getting over their goalscoring crisis and setting a Champions League record in the process.

Mikel Arteta's side became the first team in Champions League history to score seven goals away from home in the knockout stages of the competition.

It was the most goals the Gunners have scored in a single game since beating Newcastle 7-3 in the Premier League 13 years ago.

The Arsenal manager said the win had given his players "joy and confidence and belief", but was not getting carried away when questions were put to him about the records that his team had broken.

"For sure, it's something that hasn't been done, so great to be part of that," Arteta said. "But as a team we want to achieve many other things that are far more important than that.

"The happiest thing is we are in a very strong position to go to the next round, which is where we want to be. But there's still a job to do in London in a week's time."

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard, speaking to Amazon Prime after the 7-1 win at PSV: "Especially after the past few games, we needed this performance. We were brilliant from start to end; really good going forward, creating chances, scoring goals. Unfortunately we conceded one goal but it was a top performance."

On scoring more goals himself: "Every player in my position wants to influence the game with goals and assists and it's something I haven't been good enough at this season, but two goals and one assist tonight is a good step."

On Arsenal's youngsters: "They play like they have been here for many years. They have so much quality and confidence, they're ready for it. I'm not worried about them, we enjoy having them in the team and they have a great attitude."

Worst fit attacking options Arsenal have had in 10 years and they break the Champions League record for most away goals scored in a knockout round. Make it make sense.

It couldn't have gone any better for Mikel Arteta. Excellence in Eindhoven. Right from the start, Arsenal had control of the game.

In the second half, Arsenal got out of the traps and [scored] two quick goals. They've put themselves in a marvellous position.

It is such an emphatic victory. The second leg will be a formality. They just have to turn up and get the job done.

This will give them great confidence for the rest of the season.

Arsenal demolished PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands to take a commanding lead into the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The Gunners scored three goals in the first half and four goals in the second to all but confirm their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Ismael Saibari hit the crossbar early on for the home side but Arsenal took control after Jurrien Timber scored Arsenal's opener in the 18th minute.

Ethan Nwaneri doubled Arsenal's lead just three minutes later when Myles Lewis-Skelly cleverly cut the ball back for the 17-year-old to powerfully score past Walter Benitez.

Mikel Merino added a third following a defensive mix-up before Noa Lang pulled one back from the penalty spot for PSV after Thomas Partey fouled Luuk De Jong.

Arsenal continued to attack with ease as soon as the second half started and Martin Odegaard made sure there was not going to be a PSV comeback when he scored from close range after Benitez pushed a cross out into the area.

Substitute Calafiori then combined well with Leandro Trossard who chipped the ball over Benitez from close range to score Arsenal's fifth just one minute later.

Odegaard scored his second with an excellent individual effort before Calafiori grabbed a goal late on as Arsenal registered their record away win in the Champions League.
