Villa are in no rush to go forward. Everton are trying to press but they are calm on the ball. They like to take their time, wait for the opportunities to get the ball into the likes of Morgan Rogers, Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana before starting their passing combinations.

I'll be honest with you, it's not the best game I've ever seen.

A nice run by Anthony Gordon as he charges forward and then cuts inside. He runs into a bit of trouble but is able to pass to Bruno Guimaraes, but he is bundled off the ball.

There's a stoppage in play as Jefferson Lerma receives treatment and he can't carry on. Cheick Doucoure is the player summoned from the bench to take his place.

It was very unlike Ashley Young, his backpass back to Jordan Pickford sells the keeper short. Ollie Watkins was looking to pounce, got himself one on one with Pickford and he should do better.

He has missed a few chances in recent weeks and he will feel as though he should have done better with that.

Ashley Young is lucky for Everton. His misplaced pass falls straight for Ollie Watkins and the England man has a shooting chance.

But all credit to Jordan Pickford, he narrowed the angle well and Watkins, from a tough angle, could only fire wide.

Leicester are through on goal and it's the man you'd want on the ball racing through on Dean Henderson's goal. Jamie Vardy takes it on his left foot but fails to create the angle and it's well saved by the Palace keeper.

Idrissa Gueye has a strike from 25 yards out on the volley, but it was going wide, although then comes off a Villa boot to get a corner. Tyrone Mings is then well placed to head the danger away.

Ooh Goncalo Guedes really should do better as Hwang Hee-chan's cross takes a little deflection off Sven Botman but its enough to change the ball's direction to Guedes' feet, but he sweeps wide from eight yards out.

Decent stuff from Leicester on the attack once again and this time it's Bilal El Khannouss who lets fly from outside the box but it's easy for Dean Henderson to gather.

Villa will be disappointed that they have not been able to take one of their chances so far. They will be delighted with the possession and the fact that they have created so many chances early on.

Eberechi Eze has a chance to show what he can do as he controls the ball beautifully on his chest in the box before turning and firing an effort at goal. Unfortunately for him, it's blocked by team-mate Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Villa midfielder Amadou Onana will be looking to play well against his former club, but doesn't want to get himself a second yellow card after seeing one inside the opening eight minutes.

He commits another foul, but there is no card and Everton make a mess of the free-kick.

Daniel Munoz took his time in getting to the ball but Victor Kristiansen wasn't having any of that. You don't see many tackles like that these days!

Everton executive chairman Marc Watts has flown in from the States to watch David Moyes' return to the club.

Watts and the ownership group's boss Dan Friedkin were the two people Moyes spoke to last week before taking the job he described as being "too good to turn down".
